Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Your parents will stop you from leaving the house, and it has nothing to do with the time. That much has been proven by your repeated deaths.
You even start to wonder if they really are your parents at all.
When the bell rings at [6:00], your thoughts begin to spiral further. But every time you try to recall the past, a splitting pain tears through your head.
It is as if your body is using pain to resist your memories.
You cannot even remember how long you have been blind, or what caused it.
With no other choice, you give up on thinking. But the thick fog of suspicion behind it all only stokes your desire to investigate. You swear you will get to the bottom of this.
Since the door is a dead end, you have to find another way out. For example: the window.
Your home is on the sixth floor. Compared to those high-rise buildings, it is not that high, and every floor has an open balcony. With a rope, you should be able to climb down.
It takes you only half an hour to twist the duvet cover, bedsheets, and other fabrics into a sturdy long rope. You fasten it to a wall-mounted rack and make a simple rappelling setup.
Time: [6:30]
Just like before, your parents come home from work at this time and start cooking.
Through your bedroom door, you call out to them, telling them you are not hungry today and that they do not need to call you for dinner tonight.
After hearing their affirmative reply, you finally relax.
You step onto your desk and carefully climb up to the window. Gripping the rope, you tense your body and inch downward.
The dim yellow light of the setting sun falls across you. More than ten meters above the ground, you feel freedom more than fear.
You seem to be more capable than you thought. A few minutes pass, and you have nearly descended to the height of the fifth floor.
Next, all you need to do is jump onto the fifth-floor balcony, open the door from inside, and then head downstairs.
The fifth floor belongs to a young woman who works the night shift. Her hours are from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. You have chatted with her many times before and know her schedule. She definitely will not be home right now, so there is no chance of being discovered. You can move with confidence.
You steady your breathing and prepare for the final descent.
But in the next instant, below your line of sight, in the corner of your eye, an arm reaches out from the balcony and grabs the rope.
A violent jolt runs through you. In the instant you fall, you see a lifeless face.
Bang-
With the sound of something heavy hitting the ground, your final sight is covered in blood, and you sink into darkness.
…
Time: [5:45] in the afternoon
“Don’t tell them you can see.”
As That Voice sounds again, you slam your fist hard onto the desk.
“Fuck!”
This is your fifth death.
