Chapter 1
[Impossible!]
[I can definitely hold it!]
To make my case more convincing, I immediately took a close-up of my hand and sent it to him.
In the photo, my hand was half-curled around empty air.
I had even gone out of my way to find an angle that made my fingers look longer and more slender.
[See? More than, more than, more than enough room.]
This wasn’t blind confidence talking.
His kitten was only three months old.
It was tiny. How could I possibly not be able to hold it?
On the other end, the chat changed to [The other party is typing…]
He typed, then stopped. Stopped, then typed again.
For a full three minutes.
All I could think about was how badly I wanted to see the cat, so I couldn’t help urging him on:
[How about you send me a close-up? Let me see if it’s gotten bigger.]
This time, Lu Yan replied especially quickly.
[I am a traditional man.]
I was confused.
What did this have to do with being traditional or not?
Lu Yan replied:
[It’s not convenient at night. It’s already asleep.]
I was even more confused.
[Don’t lie to me. It must be wide awake right now.]
Wasn’t nighttime exactly when kittens were bursting with energy and ready to party?
I suspected Lu Yan simply didn’t want to let me see it.
After I sent that message, Lu Yan stopped replying.
Lu Yan was extremely famous in our college.
First, because of that face of his, which brought honor to the entire college.
He was so far ahead of everyone else it wasn’t even close. He had been voted the campus heartthrob and topped A University’s must-try ranking.
Second, because of his personality. He was notoriously old-fashioned and difficult.
Countless fangirls had fallen by the wayside because of it.
Although Lu Yan and I were in the same college, we were in different majors. Aside from sharing the big ideological and political theory lecture, we basically had no interaction.
And now I had suddenly messaged him in the middle of the night asking to pet his cat.
He probably thought I had no manners.
I was doomed.
I let out a deep sigh.
Just when I thought there was no hope, my phone suddenly buzzed.
Lu Yan had actually relented.
[If you want to pet it that badly… fine.]
[But you have to come to my place.]
Then he added another line.
[I am a traditional man.]
!!!
He agreed!
I was over the moon. Afraid he might change his mind, I immediately replied:
[Okay! No problem!]
[Wherever you want me to pet it, I’ll pet it there. I’ll do whatever you say!]
The screen went quiet for a few seconds.
Lu Yan asked me:
[When did you start having those kinds of thoughts about it…?]
Why was I so determined to pet Lu Yan’s cat?
Because that was my cat.
Lu Yan had kidnapped my own precious baby, Little Dingding.
Little Dingding was a long-haired tortoiseshell who used to roam around downstairs from my dorm. To put it bluntly, he looked extremely rough.
On his orange face was a black marking shaped like the Chinese character pronounced “ding,” splitting his features in a rather fierce-looking way.
So no one had ever adopted him.
I had been taking care of him since he was one month old.
Taking him to the vet, making him a nest, feeding him…
Anything a real mother would do, I did.
But my roommate was allergic to cat fur, so I couldn’t bring Dingding back to the dorm.
My original plan was to win the Sanbiao Scholarship, rent a place, and take him in to live with me.
But Lu Yan beat me to it.
He skipped buying and went straight to kidnapping, snatching Dingding away.
But a J-type never admits defeat.
So I came up with a flawless new plan:
Get close to Lu Yan and make him lower his guard.
Then steal my son back.

I Want to Pet the Cold School Heartthrob’s Cat
I wanted to stroke the aloof campus heartthrob’s…
cat.
In the middle of the night, I finally couldn’t hold back anymore and sent him a message:
