Chapter 4

The Siren BOSS appeared at the entrance, clutching a chest of jewelry salvaged from the deep sea.

When he saw the Spicy Little Man Jerky he had ordered being trampled like trash, a surge of black energy erupted from behind him, and he let out a heart-wrenching, piercing shriek.

Brother Liu shouted, “Quick, cover your ears!”

The players, who had just broken free from the Female Ghost’s control, scrambled to cover their ears, desperately trying to resist. A second later, however, blood leaked from their facial orifices as they collapsed to the ground in agony.

More and more BOSSes appeared at the entrance.

Seeing the carnage inside the supermarket, their expressions shifted to despair.

The Crow BOSS, who possessed over a hundred eyes, was on the verge of a breakdown. “Where are my Meow-Meow Popsicles? Are they gone too?”

It was then that someone finally noticed me.

“Heavens, why is Manager Chen tied up?”

“It must have been these damned players!”

“Wasting food and kidnapping the manager… this is too much! I’m going to kill them all!”

“Don’t any of you try to steal my kills! Ghost knows how many years I’ve waited for this shop to open!”

The BOSSes cursed and babbled, eventually breaking into an argument over who got to take the players’ lives.

Meanwhile, the group of players beside me was scared witless.

Normally, they would only encounter one BOSS a month, and there were level restrictions. An S-rank could easily slaughter a team of five hundred people. Now, with so many SSS-rank BOSSes gathered together, their mere presence was enough to make a player’s sanity value plummet.

Brother Liu forced himself to stay upright, threatening me with his dagger. “Quick! Save us!”

I glanced at him, then stood up and addressed the BOSSes. “Everyone, don’t be hasty.”

“You’ve forgotten that this supermarket has rules and restrictions.”

“As long as you are inside the supermarket, an NPC cannot kill anyone.”

Otherwise, they would face the penalty of the rules.

The BOSSes fell silent for a moment.

A second later, the Female Ghost let out a furious roar. “I don’t care! I’m going to kill them today!”

The other BOSSes quickly held her back, trying to soothe her. “Let it beak, let it beak. It hasn’t been easy for any of us.”
