Chapter 1

My name is Chen Ran.

Originally, I just wanted to participate in the Horror Game to win some prize money.

But I accidentally clicked the wrong page.

I ended up registering as an employee.

Fortunately, the employee benefits were decent, so I bit the bullet and showed up for work.

On my first day, I discovered that although the customers looked bizarre and grotesque, they were all exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic.

They told me that this place hadn’t been managed for a long time and that they were very happy to see me.

They even helped me tidy up the building and set up the shelves.

I spent three hours recording the things they wanted and another full day sourcing the stock.

On my third day of work, I meticulously organized the merchandise.

I arranged everything neatly.

I waited expectantly for my first batch of customers.

But to my utter surprise, over a dozen players found this place first.

Carrying various weapons, they shattered my newly installed glass door with a single punch and trampled across my freshly mopped floor with blood-stained feet.

Before I could react, they rushed behind the counter and tied me up.

The player leading them stepped on my shoulder and laughed loudly. “I knew this place was a safe house.”

“All these supplies are ours now!”

The players following him began to suck up to him one after another. “Brother Liu is the best!”

“Of course, Brother Liu has been staking this place out for a whole day!”

Brother Liu sneered and gave my abdomen a contemptuous kick. “I thought this was some kind of new BOSS, but it turns out it’s just a piece of trash.”

I curled up in pain, unable to help myself.

Yet, this only made the other players’ eyes light up. “This is the first time I’ve encountered such a weak NPC.”

“Later, we have to make sure to stab him a few more times, then film it and upload it to the internet!”

Brother Liu urged, “Do whatever you want with him, just grab the supplies first!”

I shook my head frantically, signaling for them not to touch anything.

These were the goods I had sourced for the NPCs!

Every single item was something they had repeatedly exhorted me to bring back for them!

Brother Liu merely scoffed, “Begging for mercy? It’s useless.”

“We even kill other players, let alone a trash NPC like you.”
