Chapter 6
The one who veered most drastically off-course was Wei Jinghong.
She had originally been single-mindedly focused on conquering Mo Tingyuan, practicing even her smiles to the exact curvature dictated by her system. But after staying in my shop for half a month, she suddenly realized she was actually quite suited for something else.
For example, marketing.
She was the first to suggest putting the Moonview Milk Tea brand on the Spirit Mirror.
Every disciple of the Qingwu Sect possessed a simple Spirit Mirror, used for messaging, checking announcements, and accepting missions. After tinkering with it for a few days, Wei Jinghong actually managed to figure out how to post images on the Spirit Mirror’s announcement board.
The first image featured Mo Tingyuan standing in line, holding wooden plaque number three, waiting expressionlessly for his Osmanthus Milk Dew.
The caption was positively wicked:
“Even the Sword Venerable is queuing up. What are you still waiting for?”
That spirit message went viral overnight.
The next day, the crowd at the entrance of Moonview Milk Tea was as massive as a Sect examination.
I watched the data while brewing tea, my heart calm.
The traffic had arrived.
Then, I began the second round of conversion.
Every first-time customer received a stamp card; collect ten stamps, and you could redeem a hidden basic drink. Anyone who shared the shop’s news on the Spirit Mirror with the hashtag #Don’t Want to Ascend Today would receive an extra half-portion of boba.
Wei Jinghong looked at me, her eyes filled with nothing but admiration.
“Senior Sister, just how many tricks do you have up your sleeve?”
“Depends on the situation.” I handed her a stack of newly printed wooden plaques. “Design a few more cup sleeves. Ideally, one that makes Sword Peak want to buy, one for Danxia Peak, and another that makes Feng Linxing want to stick it on her sword the moment she sees it.”
Her eyes lit up.
“I can do that?”
“Of course,” I said. “You don’t necessarily have to make the Sword Venerable like you, but you can certainly make the entire Sect love your designs.”
That night, she didn’t practice her smiles, nor did she study any seduction scripts.
She squatted by my table and drew until the third watch of the night.
The next day, Moonview Milk Tea launched its first batch of limited-edition cup sleeves.
The Sword Peak version was a cold silver, inscribed with: “I don’t want to lose to my fellow disciples today either.” The Danxia Peak version featured a medicine cauldron pattern, reading: “Refining pills is bitter; milk tea should be sweet.” The batch for Feng Linxing sold the best-a pale green background with a line of small text.
“Not anyone’s substitute.”
When Feng Linxing received that cup sleeve, her fingertips trembled.
She stared at it for a long time, then suddenly whispered, “Senior Sister, I want to learn how to make milk foam.”
“Sure.”
“I also want to learn bookkeeping.”
“Even better.”
She looked up, and those eyes that were always clouded with mist truly brightened for the first time.
As for Mo Tingyuan, his interest in Wei Jinghong remained low, but his interest in my milk tea grew higher and higher.
He had progressed from “Full Sugar No Ice Osmanthus Milk Dew with Black Pearls” to actively asking me, “What is today’s limited edition?”
I let him try the Osmanthus Wine Ferment Milk Cloud Top. After finishing it, he stood there for a long while before finally saying, “This cup is not bad.”
I was flattered.
After all, in the original novel, Mo Tingyuan’s praise for the female lead was never this direct.
Wei Jinghong, watching from the side, was very open-minded about it.
“It’s fine, Senior Sister,” she even comforted me. “Don’t be nervous. He just has a craving.”
Me: “…”
That sounded a bit strange.
Even stranger was Yi Sijin.
He had been coming more and more frequently lately, and he actually brought me several customers from the Demon Realm. Those Demon Cultivators looked more ferocious than the last, yet they were extremely well-behaved once they entered the shop, and they paid promptly.
I couldn’t help but ask Yi Sijin, “Are you very free lately?”
“Not free.” He slowly sipped his Taro Boba. “It’s just that I feel the matter of the invasion can be put off for a while.”
“Why?”
“Because if we start fighting, the supply here will be cut off.”
I fell silent.
After a long pause, I gave a sincere evaluation: “Young Master, you truly are a commercial genius of the Demon Realm.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Consider a franchise?”
“Not considering it.”
“Why?”
“Your Demon Realm’s infrastructure is insufficient. Build up the cold chain logistics first.”
For the first time, Yi Sijin showed a somewhat confused expression.
I knew he didn’t understand yet.
But he would realize sooner or later.
How far a villain can go doesn’t depend on martial prowess; it depends on logistics.

I Became the Sect’s Favorite by Selling Milk Tea
When the Sword Venerable stood at the entrance of my Milk Tea Shop, sword in hand, the entire Sect thought he had come to demand an accounting for some grievance.
Only I knew that he just...
