When I found the eighteen-year-old Gu Zhixian, he was about to commit suicide.

I rushed forward and grabbed his arm in a death grip. “Baby! Whatever you do, don’t jump!”

He tried to shake me off but couldn’t break free. His tone was cold. “Mind your own business.”

I cleared my throat and looked up at him with a pitiful expression. “You probably won’t believe this, but I’m your future wife…”

As expected, he looked at me with a bewildered expression, as if he were staring at an absolute idiot.

I spoke solemnly, detailing what would happen to him next. “After you jump into the river this time, you’ll be rescued and sent to the hospital. Thinking of his gaunt, withered appearance after the cancer took hold, I instinctively tightened my grip on his arm.

Gu Zhixian gave a soft sneer. “So, the future me died, and you, as my wife, traveled through time specifically to save me?”

Except for one thing-I was lying to him.

I was just someone who had loved him in secret for ten years.

“Ma’am, even if you mean well, there’s no need to make up such a clumsy lie.” Gu Zhixian looked away. The night wind ruffled his hair, and his eyes looked dark and somber as he stared into the distance under the cold moonlight.

“Gu Zhixian, it’s a wonderful life.” My voice was almost a sigh as I pleaded, “So… please don’t give up on yourself, okay?”

Then he snapped out of it. As if suddenly amused, he looked me up and down with a hint of mockery. “A beautiful wife… are you talking about yourself?”

The smile faded from the corners of his mouth. He leaned lazily against the railing and turned his head away.
