Chapter 2

I replied with a “yes.”

I continued reading the latest post from the OP.

[I mustered up my courage and contacted Zhenzhen. She said she would definitely take me away. So she likes me too. I’m not an unwanted incubus.]

[My emotions got too intense, so I went into heat.]

Muffled, ambiguous moans came from the locked guest room. Suddenly, the front door was knocked hard. I thought for a moment, then went to open it.

Sun Zhenni was standing there with a suitcase, smiling as she greeted me.

“Sis, Mom and Dad are both on business trips, and I was scared being home alone. You don’t mind me moving in with you, right?”

Of course I minded. Sun Zhenni and her mother had climbed over my mother’s corpse to get where they were.

Everyone praised my father for loving his wife like his own life. Yet when I was five, a woman showed up with Sun Zhenni at our door.

I was born on October 20th. Sun Zhenni was born on October 21st. Su Yang stood at the door, tugging Sun Zhenni to make her call me her big sister.

My mother held me tighter and tighter, her voice cold as she told them to leave.

“Get out.”

But Su Yang fell to her knees with a thud, forcing Sun Zhenni down too, and banged her head on the floor.

“Elder sister, please give my daughter and me a way to live. I don’t ask for a title, only to stay by Ah Jian’s side.”

At the same time, my father slapped my mother across the face. I was so scared I burst out crying.

That was the first time I ever saw my parents fight. The whole house was a wreck, and the farce ended with my mother vomiting a mouthful of blood.

A month later, I lost my mother and gained a stepmother and a stepsister.

Sun Zhenni, like Su Yang, was a master at framing people.

She smashed a teacup my father had collected, then cried and said I had tried to hit her with the teacup and broke it. I was made to kneel in the ancestral hall for a week, and afterwards my knees could never handle intense exercise again.

On my birthday, she would throw a fuss about wanting to celebrate together to strengthen our bond. So after I turned five, I never again had a cake of my own. I could only sit at the table and watch the three of them happily blow out candles.

In high school, she dated three guys at once, but private photos were leaked. She cried that she couldn’t face anyone and wanted to jump off a building. Dad said I was the older sister, so I should protect my sister.

He spoke to me earnestly: “Zhenzhen has always been timid. These rumors will be the death of her.”

The man who used to lift me onto his shoulders and give me airplane rides seemed to have died along with my mother that day. I wanted to ask him: aren’t you afraid the rumors will be the death of me too?

Is Sun Zhenni the only one who’s your daughter, and I’m not?

But his next words shut me up.

“As long as you’re willing to confess, I’ll give you your mother’s ashes.”

So I stood in front of more than three thousand students and faculty at school and read a confession that shouldn’t have been mine. From then on, labels like slut and whore clung to me like shadows.

Unfortunately, Dad’s plan to hand the company over to Sun Zhenni fell through. I got back what was most important, and together with the loyalists my mother had left behind, I became a force within the Sun Corporation that could rival Dad.

The moment I had a say, I moved out of that disgustingly old house.

“I do mind.”

The corner of my mouth curled up, and mercilessly I was about to kick Sun Zhenni out.

But from behind me came a voice filled with surprise.

“You… you really came?”

I turned around. Mo Heng, who had been hiding in his room for a week, stepped out for the first time. He was wearing the expensive suit I had bought him, and his deep-set brows and eyes made him look like a little prince from a European noble family.

His face was flushed with irrepressible excitement. He eagerly yet restrainedly rubbed against Sun Zhenni’s arm, his tail wagging wildly like a puppy’s.

Just a bit of skin contact, and his eyes welled up with contentment. So the shopkeeper wasn’t lying-after an incubus recognizes its master, it truly is loyal and passionate. It’s just a pity that the one he recognized as his master wasn’t me.

“Zhenzhen… May I call you that?”

Sun Zhenni playfully scratched his chin, and Mo Heng immediately emitted a purring, coquettish sound.

She smiled provocatively at me: “Sister, your incubus seems to like me more.”

“He hasn’t replenished human fluids for a few days now, so weak it pains me. Mo Heng, tell me, why don’t you accept sister’s fluids?”

Mo Heng looked up at Sun Zhenni adoringly, stole a glance at me, and whispered so only the two of them could hear.

“I only want Zhenzhen. That woman… I find her disgusting.”

Too bad I can read lips.

Sun Zhenni laughed even more smugly: “Sister, why don’t I help you feed him, so the incubus you spent so much effort raising doesn’t starve himself to death?”

After saying this, she was about to take Mo Heng inside, but I blocked her way.

“Did I agree to let you in?”

Before Sun Zhenni could speak, Mo Heng panicked.

“Zhenzhen can go in.”

His voice was hoarse, his movements anxious. I cast a cool glance at him, but he wasn’t afraid, stubbornly meeting my gaze.

“If you don’t let her in, I’ll run away from home!”

Ever since Mo Heng arrived, I’ve almost always indulged him, never forcing him to do anything he dislikes. It seems that has inflated his temper.

Seeing my expression grow colder, Mo Heng shrank back slightly, but still held Sun Zhenni’s hand tightly, refusing to let go.

A jade-green bracelet appeared before me. I secretly clenched my hand hidden behind my back. It was a keepsake left by my mother. I had searched for over ten years without finding it; it turned out Sun Zhenni had hidden it.

“Sister, can I use this as rent?”

I carefully took the bracelet and smiled faintly: “Sure.”

The two of them rushed into the guest bedroom almost impatiently. Recalling the passionate love on Mo Heng’s face, I found it laughable.

Sun Zhenni’s show today was only to annoy me. At most, she had a little fondness for Mo Heng like playing with a kitten or puppy, yet she had fooled him utterly.

Customer service was right; Mo Heng is indeed a defective product, pitifully stupid.

The moans from just a wall away lasted almost all night. The next day, I yawned while eating breakfast.

I opened my phone, and that post had indeed been updated again.

[Zhenzhen actually loves me too. Last night, knowing it was my first time mating, she praised me as a good baby.]

[I have to be with Zhenzhen. At worst, I’ll just return all the money she spent on me to her.]

Return to me?

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. In just one week, I had spent over five million on him. With him penniless, and Sun Zhenni still relying on Dad for allowance?

Out of sight, out of mind. Customer service happened to send the genetic preferences of a new incubus. I simply went out to customize supplies for the new incubus and also had someone pack up and throw away all the things I’d bought for Mo Heng in the storeroom. I also changed the home decor; Mo Heng liked blue, but my new incubus likes green.

Only on the third day did I return home. Sun Zhenni sat contentedly on Mo Heng’s lap, eating fruit.

Seeing me return, Mo Heng restrainedly glanced at the packages piled in half the living room, pressed his lips, and spoke.

“Even if the things you buy are great, I don’t like them.”

“I’ve decided to leave with Zhenzhen. If you truly like me, you should let me pursue true love. The money you spent on me, I will also return to you.”

I stood at the door, glanced at Mo Heng: “What a pity, you can’t leave.”

Mo Heng’s expression changed, a rare trace of anger appearing. He was about to speak when a deep male voice interrupted.

A strong arm wrapped around my waist, a peach-pink tail excitedly pressed between my legs, and a tall, hot body pressed behind me.

“Master, why is this defective product still in your house?”
