Chapter 4

By the time I returned to the banquet, I found that Lin Feizhi had already left.

This princess is powerful, influential, and gorgeous, yet I actually managed to scare him away.

I didn’t understand it.

However, I figured he would come back eventually.

I couldn’t think of a single reason why he wouldn’t.

For the sake of his face, I could afford to wait a few days.

Or so I thought.

Little did I expect that while my mind was willing to wait, my body couldn’t stand the boredom.

I can only say: as a PO novel female protagonist, those who know, know.

The Crown Prince recently sent a group of guards my way.

He hinted vaguely that I could choose someone from among them for my amusement.

His unspoken plea was for me to stop harassing his court officials.

How detestable.

I originally had no intention of listening to him.

But as fate would have it, there was one young guard who was exactly my type.

He had a darker complexion and heavy brows. Though he was barely twenty, his build was already robust and broad, and his features were resolute and sharp. He always wore black armor, silently standing guard at my palace gates.

Sometimes, when I called him over to answer questions, a hint of red would actually flush across his heroic, well-defined face.

It really made me want to tease him.

I reclined on my daybed and summoned him to put on my shoes and socks.

He waved his hands in agitation, stammering that he didn’t dare offend the princess.

I merely raised an eyebrow at him.

He pursed his lips, looking as though he were making some monumental decision, before finally saying, “Very well.”

How cute.

He dropped to one knee before me. A hand with wheat-colored skin lightly supported my snow-white ankle, while his gaze remained distantly fixed to the side.

I let out a soft laugh and used my toe to hook under his chin. “Young guard, you must focus on your work.”

The young guard’s breathing seemed to quicken, and his earlobes turned a shade of red so deep it looked like they might bleed.

Just as things were getting interesting, a maid suddenly announced that Lin Feizhi was requesting an audience.

Sigh, why does he have such terrible timing?

I sat up, straightened my clothes, and gave the young guard a playful wink. “Young guard, am I beautiful?”

The young guard froze for a moment before immediately bowing his head. His voice was quieter than a mosquito’s buzz: “You are… beautiful.”

Lin Feizhi arrived wearing a black robe today. He stood tall and elegant, looking gentle and upright.

Seeing me approach, he rose to perform his salutations.

I waved a hand dismissively and took the high seat, looking at him with a beaming smile.

He didn’t dodge or avoid my gaze, but looked directly at me. “Does what the princess said previously still hold true?”

“Naturally.”

“This commoner… is willing to become the Prince Consort.”

Huh?

What Prince Consort?

When did I ever say I wanted him to be the Prince Consort?

But seeing the look on Lin Feizhi’s face, he seemed to have made a painful, ultimate resolution.

He had to struggle and waffle this much just to agree to be a Prince Consort.

If I only asked him to be a male concubine…

I was afraid he’d bash his head against a wall and die right in front of me.

Sigh, whatever-concubine or Prince Consort.

I’ll get my hands on him first.

Once he loses his purity, he won’t be able to refuse even if he wants to.

If we really can’t come to an agreement in the end, then a Prince Consort he shall be.

Either way, he has no power or influence.

Even if I open a harem later, there’s likely nothing he can do to me.

Controlling him will be as easy as turning over my palm!

Then, Zhao Heche’s face suddenly flashed through my mind.

If he were to become my Prince Consort, I’m afraid I wouldn’t even be able to keep the guards in my manor.

I physically shuddered at the thought.

I’ve lived a life of doing good deeds and accumulating merit; I don’t deserve a sin like that.

A PO Novel Female Lead Meets a Clean Romance Male Lead

I am the female lead of a PO novel, thrown into a clean romance novel by the system to be reformed.

Hilarious. I walked straight up to the male lead and said, “Hey, wanna kiss?”...
