Short story
Clouds of the Past, Dawn After Dawn
My funeral was held with the highest honors.
After all, I was Zhao Xun’s first wife. For four years I had reigned as empress, mother to the nation, carrying out every duty without a single misstep.
Even after he began doting on Consort Chen and fell out with the Empress Dowager over her, I was the one who mediated between them.
When Consort Chen fell ill, he stayed at her bedside for three days without changing his clothes or taking so much as a sip of water.
When my turn came, there was no grief on his face. He merely held my slowly cooling hand and sat there for a long while.
“If there is another life, I will make you my empress again.”
Another life truly came.
Zhao Xun had not yet met the love of his life. He had agreed to let the Empress choose a virtuous young noblewoman to be his princess consort.
The Empress pointed to me.
Then, just as he looked my way, her fingertip shifted an inch and settled on someone else.
“On second thought, let us choose Second Miss Li.”
Crabapple Blossoms in the Red Pavilion
After eight years in a nunnery, I received a cup of poisoned wine from my twin sister.
Her face was full of contempt.
“You live in a nunnery, yet you bed His Majesty every night.
Have you no shame?”
“Tomorrow, His Majesty means to bring you back to the palace.
Someone as lowly as you has no business being a Noble Consort.
Let your elder sister take that place.”
Smiling, I drank the poison and watched her step over my corpse to board the phoenix palanquin bound for the palace.
What she did not know was that being summoned to his bed at any hour, in any place, was worse than death.
Crabapple Red
I was sent into the palace because I wasn’t clever.
Before I left, Mother warned me never to fall for the emperor.
I asked her what falling for someone meant.
“It means seeing him makes you happy.”
Puzzled, I tilted my head and asked: “Happier than eating braised pork?”
“A hundred times happier.”
I immediately thumped my chest and promised I would never fall for anyone as long as I lived.
After all, nothing in the world tasted better than braised pork.
Then one day, the noble consort everyone called arrogant and overbearing smiled and pressed a sweet cake into my hand.

By the year 3026, society’s race to the bottom had accelerated beyond control.
Pregnancy ruined a woman’s career prospects, so I had my uterus removed to improve my chances of finding work.
HR rejected me anyway.
The reason was simple.
“I’m sorry, but you have a twelve-hour gap in your employment history. That’s far too long.”
Dad’s Gift, My Revenge
Dad brought home a golden retriever especially to keep Mom from getting lonely.
I turned around and sold it to a dog dealer to be bred for twelve litters in a row, until giving birth left it paralyzed.
Because in my last life, Mom had given that dog everything.
She took it everywhere and even held it while she slept.
In just two months, she seemed to age fifty years.
Then she died right in front of me.
The doctor called it sudden-onset premature aging.
Less than a month after we buried Mom, Dad moved her best friend into our house.
The woman who should have been lying in intensive care waiting to die had suddenly recovered.
Wearing Mom’s necklace and sleeping in Mom’s bed, she stroked my head and said, “Niannian, I’m your mommy now.”
Only later did I learn the truth.
Her soul was living inside the golden retriever Dad had brought home.
She was bound to a Life-Swapping System.
All she had to do was stay close to Mom in that dog’s body for forty-nine days straight, and she could steal Mom’s health and lifespan little by little.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day the golden retriever arrived.
I looked down at it and smiled sweetly.
Send them to prison?
I didn’t have enough evidence.
But it was only a female dog in heat.
Sending it off to have eight or ten litters was perfectly reasonable, wasn’t it?
Deep Within the Palace
At sixteen, a food-loving girl enters the imperial harem as lowly Attendant Yun, determined to survive its suffocating rules and earn enough favor for a decent meal.
Her accidental bond with the formidable Empress Dowager and the neglected Princess Ruyi lifts her through the palace ranks, but every kindness hides a calculation and every pregnancy can redraw the balance of the throne.
When rebellion, poisoned bloodlines, and a stolen son force her to choose between motherhood and survival, Yun must bury her heart behind palace walls—until the child she surrendered returns as Emperor and asks her to become his mother at last.
Devil Angel 4: Death of the Whale
My best friend stumbled into a suicide game, and it shattered her worldview.
Talk one person into killing themselves, and you were guaranteed at least ten thousand yuan.
Sell “suicide merchandise,” and you earned a twenty-percent cut.
The merchandise included death-scene photos, bloodstained clothes, ongoing reports on the victim’s family, and more.
My righteous best friend worked tirelessly for a month…
and managed to talk eight of the game’s chat groups into disbanding.
The people behind it lost their minds. “Wasn’t she diagnosed as an extremely rare antisocial personality during testing? How did she turn into a saint?”
Had it ever occurred to them that she wasn’t the one who took the test?
I was.
And as someone with that exceedingly rare antisocial personality, I preferred making my own rules.
Diary of a Professional Simp
I spent three years simping for Jiang An.
I cooked for him, did his laundry, and even wrote his elective-course assignments.
Then one day, someone asked him, ‘Jiang An, Lin Wanyue has been chasing after you for so long. Haven’t you ever felt anything for her?’
In the dim light, I heard him chuckle.
‘Huh? She’s just my housekeeper. Why would I fall for her?’
The whole room burst out laughing.
What none of them knew was that Jiang An paid me sixty thousand yuan a month.
The truth was… I really was the highly paid campus housekeeper he had hired.
Did I Become the Heir Today?
Ever since I was little, Mother had told me that the Marchioness was a broad, hulking shrew with the heart of a viper.
Anyone who offended her, she said, would be beaten half to death and locked in a dark room to perish.
Yet on the day we were brought to the marquis’s estate, the woman seated at the head of the main hall looked like a celestial maiden.
Mother sprang forward and hoisted her out of the chair.
“Sitting in the Marchioness’s place? Have you got a death wish?”
