Chapter 67

Judging by the scales on Master Yinxuan’s neck, it had to be a Black Snake.

Now, the three of us were like turtles trapped in a jar.

The Essence Spirits of the other five girls had already been sucked into the Six-Petal Lotus; I was the only one left.

Consequently, I was now the Black Snake’s primary target.

“Boss Jin, go to Sister Qingying and do your best to protect her,” I said, tightening my grip on Fengwu. “I’m about to go all out.”

Jin Wuya had seen me draw the bow earlier and knew that the flames shot from the Longbow were uncontrollable and could easily injure the innocent.

He had no choice but to listen. As I aimed the Longbow at Master Yinxuan, he quickly darted toward Li Qingying.

When I drew the Longbow to full tension, Master Yinxuan smiled, his deep blue vertical pupils filled with interest. “How interesting.”

*Whiz!*

The moment I released the bowstring, I pivoted slightly. My target shifted from Master Yinxuan to the body of the Former Abbot.

Jin Wuya had once told me that every Formation has a Formation Eye.

The larger the Grand Formation, the more critical the Formation Eye is to breaking it.

If I wasn’t mistaken, the Former Abbot’s physical body was the location of the Formation Eye for the entire Jiyu Temple.

Otherwise, why would someone protect a corpse with a Bronze Bell and place it in the middle of the courtyard for no reason?

Furthermore, the space beneath the Former Abbot should be hollow.

The Six-Petal Lotus was inserted into the ground, and there should be a stream of living water beneath it.

This stream was connected to the same vein as the hot springs!

At the thought that a Black Snake had been watching us from the dark depths of the water while we bathed in the hot springs over the past few days, a wave of revulsion washed over me.

I clearly couldn’t defeat the Black Snake in a head-on confrontation.

But what if I destroyed the Formation Eye? What if I destroyed Jiyu Temple itself?

Accompanied by several whistling sounds, six more flames shot out.

I didn’t dare lower my guard. Even though I had fired six flames, I couldn’t be certain they would hit the Former Abbot’s body.

So, I fired two more volleys in rapid succession!

Eighteen flames were flying in the same direction; I refused to believe that not a single one would hit.

Just as I drew the bow again, preparing for a fourth shot, Master Yinxuan struck out at my face with his palm.

His palm wind was fierce, carrying a fishy stench. Even though I reacted quickly enough to dodge, I was still knocked to the ground by the force.

Immediately after, I felt a powerful suction force that made Fengwu tremble incessantly.

Master Yinxuan wanted the Golden Scale!

I immediately shouted, “Fengwu, retract!”

Fengwu instantly vanished into my body, disappearing from Master Yinxuan’s sight.

Heh. Since he wanted something, I would make sure he couldn’t have it. That way, I could stall for time and look for a chance to survive.

On the other side, the Former Abbot’s body had caught fire.

The flames shot by Fengwu were no ordinary fire.

They could scorch Souls, so naturally, they could burn the Former Abbot’s body and soul, destroying the Formation Eye!

“A Lifebound Artifact?” Master Yinxuan suddenly leaned down and grabbed my chin. He moved close to me and took a deep breath, closing his eyes as if savoring a scent.

Then, he opened those deep blue vertical pupils and said gloomily, “So, you belong to Seventh Master.”

He actually knew Liu Junyan!

Who was he?!

“Seventh Master truly is blessed with beautiful women.”

His long-jointed fingers gently stroked my chin. Master Yinxuan’s face seemed to freeze in place as another phantom image slowly separated from his body.

It felt like being drunk, where one’s vision blurs into double images.

Except in this case, one image belonged to Master Yinxuan, while the other belonged to a young man whose eyes and brows bore a thirty percent resemblance to Liu Junyan.

His face drew closer to mine, inch by inch. With every fraction of an inch, his phantom form became more solid.

Moreover, I noticed that the Golden Scale was not on Master Yinxuan’s forehead, but on this man’s body!

His deep blue vertical pupils stared fixedly at my lips, his eyes flickering with an irrepressible spark of lust.
It was simply inconceivable.

When he lowered his head, I thought he was going to suck out my Essence Spirit, but now it seemed he actually wanted to kiss me!

I didn’t move, my eyes fixed intently on his lips. Just as they were about to press down, I lunged for his forehead, trying to snatch the Golden Scale into my hand.

However, I underestimated the man’s agility.

A moment ago, he had been immersed in lust; the next, he had accurately seized my wrist.

He yanked me up and, with a flick of his hand, pinned me to the ground. He began tearing at my clothes from behind. “With such a fine constitution, why let that fellow Seventh Master have you for nothing? Be good, don’t move. I know how to cherish a woman far better than Seventh Master does.”

Crack!

A sharp whip crack rang out abruptly, lashing heavily against the unprepared man.

The man looked back to see that Li Qingying had stood up at some point. She held her Long Whip, staring at him with eyes nearly bursting with rage.

Behind Li Qingying, Jin Wuya was pushing his limits while tangling with the Little Monks!

Jin Wuya was an excellent Guijiang; breaking the iron chains on Li Qingying was no difficult task for him.

Li Qingying was covered in wounds and could barely stand, yet she gripped her Long Whip tightly and roared, “You dare touch Xiao Jiu? You’re looking for death!”

As she spoke, she swung the Long Whip again.

But this time, the strike failed to hit its mark. The man caught the whip in his hand, sneering, “I think you’re the one looking for death.”

He pulled back with one hand while the other condensed a palm wind, striking out at Li Qingying.

Li Qingying was sent flying, crashing heavily against the Altar. She spat out a mouthful of blood and fell unconscious.

Meanwhile, I had already scrambled to my feet. Instead of attacking the man, I immediately rushed toward the Former Abbot’s physical body.

The body was already nearly half-consumed by flames, yet the man hadn’t bothered to protect it even once. The Formation hadn’t been shaken in the slightest either. Why?

Could it be that the physical body wasn’t the Formation Eye?

Was the Formation Eye actually the Six-Petal Lotus?

Thinking of this, I kicked down hard on one of the petals of the Six-Petal Lotus.

A second kick, a third…

I kicked six times in a row until finally, a corner of one of the petals snapped under my foot.

Rumble!

A muffled sound echoed from below, and the sound of rushing water seemed to draw closer to my ears.

The man, who was still busy dealing with Li Qingying, whipped his head around, his expression changing drastically.

In the next instant, a column of water as thick as a baby’s arm erupted from beneath the Former Abbot, shooting up from the center of the Six-Petal Lotus. Massive clouds of black energy surged up from below.

Following the energy were several pale, ghastly hands of young girls!

My ankle was suddenly seized by one of the hands, dragging me straight toward the center of the water column.

Bang!

Bang, bang!

Under the impact of the water column, the Six-Petal Lotus shattered continuously, and the entire floor began to collapse downward.

As expected, the space below was hollow and filled with water.

The Formation was broken!

However, the water was filled with the sounds of ghostly wailing and howling. The moment I was dragged down, I felt cold claws grabbing and tearing at me from every direction!

I thought I was dead for sure this time!

But at that moment, a clap of thunder suddenly exploded in mid-air. A biting wind rose from the ground, and the sounds of fighting seemed to drift in from outside.

Pressed into the water by those claws, I couldn’t hear very clearly.

But soon, the claws all retracted, and the surface of the water returned to a calm state.

It seemed something formidable had arrived outside-something even more powerful than the Black Snake-scaring all the Dirty Things so much that they didn’t dare show their heads.

Immediately after, I was fished out by a powerful hand and tossed onto the ground.

I reached out to wipe the water from my face and looked up.

I saw a man dressed in a black robe standing not far away.

His entire being was shrouded within the black robe, making his features impossible to discern, but in his right hand, he was Toying with that Golden Scale.

Li Qingying, who had just been woken up by Jin Wuya, caught sight of the Black-Robed Man. She scrambled to her knees on the ground and said respectfully, “Lord Xiao…”
