“Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow!”

The cat leaped wildly inside the cramped carrier, slamming its body against the sides with a series of bangs.

Its thoughts turned hysterical.

*What the hell is wrong with this lunatic? Why does she suddenly want to neuter me?*

*Did she find out? Impossible! How could she possibly know?*

*This transformation lasts a whole month. The cat is my actual body right now, so neutering the cat means neutering me…*

*Fuck! I’m finished!*

Her face stiffened.

I had no interest in arguing further. I walked around her and headed straight for the elevator.

After two stunned seconds, Chen Jingyi hurried after me, her heels clacking across the floor.

“Wancheng, listen to me! You really can’t neuter this cat! Look how scared he is! Cats have dignity too!”

I kept walking. “Don’t worry. He’ll keep his dignity. He’ll just have a touch of melancholy from now on.”

I was almost out of the residential complex.

Throwing caution aside, Chen Jingyi seized the carrier’s handle. “Give me the cat!”

“Chen Jingyi, why are you trying to steal my cat?”

I refused to let go.

Our tug-of-war drew the attention of a security guard.

“Ms. Jiang, what’s wrong? What happened?”

Frowning, I pointed at Chen Jingyi.

“She isn’t a resident. Please escort her out. She’s trying to take my cat.”

Chen Jingyi shrieked.

“Wancheng, what are you talking about? I’m your best friend! I…”

The guard had already pried her hand away, his tone stern.

“Ma’am, please calm down. If you aren’t a resident here, please cooperate and leave. Do not disturb the people who live here.”

Chen Jingyi stamped her feet in panic, her eyes reddening.

“Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow!”

The cat inside the carrier grew even more frantic.
