Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Once I had eaten and drunk my fill-and had more than enough daytime debauchery-I rested for a bit, then got up and dressed.
Jindan had started school this year, and as his loving mother, I had to pick him up every day.
Fun was fun, but Jindan and Mudan were what mattered most to me.
Seven-Times Man had already lost all will to live.
He stared up at the canopy over the bed and said, “You’ll regret this.”
I kissed him and said gently, “Oh, come on. It’s not like you’re losing out here. Go ask around-who would think you’ve been wronged?”
“Be good and wait for me to come see you.”
He turned his gaze to me. “You’re keeping me outside like this. Does your husband know?”
I usually wore my hair in a married woman’s style.
I sighed. “My husband has passed on. Otherwise, you never would’ve gotten so lucky.”
And just like that, more than ten days passed.
I felt like even my complexion had improved.
Being properly nourished really did make a difference.
Besides, keeping a man on the side was thrilling.
Unparalleledly thrilling.
My life felt positively wonderful.
It wasn’t as if I went every day. Usually, I visited once every two or three days.
His charms were simply too marvelous. I could hardly forget them.
That day, I was just about to go see Seven-Times Man, play with him for two hours, then pick up Jindan, and after that go home to keep Mudan company.
But the moment I reached the gate, I saw a figure both familiar and strange standing there!
It was actually my general husband!
Everyone was stunned!
My general husband wasn’t dead after all.
He held me tightly in his arms!
He said that for the past three years, there hadn’t been a single moment when he hadn’t missed me!
It was only by thinking of me that he’d managed to hold on!
My eyes brimmed with tears too!
How was I supposed to tell him that I had remarried?
How was I supposed to tell him that I was also keeping someone outside?
When he saw Mudan, he was shocked.
In the end, it was his mother who pulled him aside and roughly explained the situation.
Fortunately, my general husband held my hand and said, “Thank goodness Tanhua is dead. We can live the way we used to.”
I let out a breath of relief.
Then he picked up Jindan, kissed him several times, and burst into hearty laughter. “Son! Your father is back!”
Jindan looked a lot like my general husband.
Mudan looked a lot like Tanhua Husband.
Jindan was delighted!
He ran around cheering.
As he ran, he kept shouting, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!”
He used to call Tanhua Husband Daddy too.
Mudan stood off to the side, looking very confused.
My general husband picked up Mudan and said, “From now on, you’re my son too! Be good. Call me Daddy!”
Mudan blankly called, “Daddy.”
My general husband kissed him a few times all the same.

What to Do if My Kept Mistress Is the Crown Prince?
I was a widow starved for a man.
While I was burning incense and praying for a good match, some villain broke into my boudoir.
I knocked him out with a vase.
Then I took a look...
