Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Three days later, this matter still lingered in my mind. I even resisted going to sleep every night, terrified of dreaming about that group of Ape-men, and… that Humanoid.
Opening my phone, I saw that Cousin Lin Yu’s personal writing blog had actually updated. It was precisely that story about the Humanoid.
“Could she have written about the Humanoid’s flaw!” I clicked in excitedly and began reading, as I was truly curious about this secret after all.
Here is her updated content:
When another tribe found that smart Ape-man, he had already gone mad. Covered in mud and riddled with wounds, it looked like he had suffered a great deal along the way.
How could the Ape-men of that era possess the concept of madness? Seeing him like this, they simply assumed an evil spirit had possessed his body. They tied him up, surrounded him, and kowtowed in ceaseless prayer.
“It is already here! It’s hiding among us!”
The smart Ape-man couldn’t stop roaring, shouting these words over and over.
This struck even more fear into the crowd, causing the onlookers to hesitate to approach.
“I’ll tell you its secret!”
Hearing this, the tribe’s leader stood up and slowly walked over to him.
“Who is it? What secret are you going to tell?”
The smart Ape-man thrashed about, jumping up and down as he yelled:
“Someone came to our tribe-no! It’s not human! Even though he looks just like us, but…”
Before he could finish, the leader suddenly leaned in close, speaking to him face-to-face:
“Look at me. Think carefully. What should you say?”
“You!!!” The smart Ape-man’s pupils dilated in sheer terror. Staring at the approaching leader, his heart stopped beating.
In those times, it was all too normal for someone to die. The crowd, not understanding what had happened, had no choice but to casually toss the Ape-man’s corpse into the forest.
Perhaps there was something wrong with that leader; perhaps he was the Humanoid. Unfortunately, with the death of the smart Ape-man, no one else would ever know the truth.
A million years ago, the earth was still teeming with animals. One day, a cheetah, in pursuit of prey, accidentally stumbled into a cave.
That’s right, it was the exact same cave the Humanoid had previously stayed in.
The cheetah seemed curious about the place, leisurely wandering around inside the cave.
Please note!
Animals usually avoid human crowds because they can smell human activity, but this cheetah didn’t sense anyone here.
By the cave walls, the corpses of previous prey were piled up, along with some stone tools.
The cheetah vaguely sensed something was off, and its rather insufficient brain began to deduce.
*There should be human activity here, but I don’t see anyone, nor do I smell anyone.*
Unable to figure it out, the cheetah decided to claim the prey for itself. Just as it was about to dig in-
A human face emerged from nowhere:
“Are you looking for me?”
