I nearly lost myself in all those sweet calls of “sister.”

In my last life, every one of them had called me a wretch.

Not that I had kept my mouth shut.

I called them lowly maids, idiots, vicious servants, fools…

Consort An left in a hurry.

She brought her delicate little sister along to serve the emperor a bowl of soup.

The emperor was delighted and happily drank it down.

Then his eyes swelled into slits.

The imperial physician finally managed to save him after much effort.

Consort An then brought her sister back, both of them weeping pitifully as they came to attend to him in his illness.

In the end, a waft of fragrance drifted straight onto the emperor’s face, and his hives grew even worse.

The emperor pointed at Consort An and her sister.

“Get out of my sight!”

Consort An left in grief and sent her sister out of the palace that very night.

Then she hurriedly notified her parents and urged them to finalize her sister’s marriage as soon as possible.

By the time the emperor’s hives eased and he remembered the matter, news of Consort An’s sister’s wedding had already spread throughout the capital beyond the palace walls.

The emperor fell silent for a moment. Perhaps he thought of how both times he had seen Consort An’s sister, he had broken out in hives. In the end, he suppressed the thought.

It seems she and I are incompatible by fate. We were destined to meet, but not to be together.

I curled my lips in a sneer.

In my last life, he had brought Consort An’s sister into the palace, slept with her a few times, then grown tired of her.
