The instant I came back to my senses,
I dashed into the bedroom, found one of my brother’s T-shirts, and pulled it over Zhou Ci’s head.

My brain had ground to a halt.
I really couldn’t revise another word.

Without thinking, I asked, “What would let you become completely human?”

he asked again. “Will you help me?”
“I will.”
The answer came instinctively, without a trace of hesitation.
Even I froze.

Zhou Ci smiled, bent his head, and kissed me.
“Ying Xu, open your mouth.”
