Chapter 1

I stared blankly at the profile picture on my phone.

It showed a deep-blue night sky, with clusters of nameless white flowers spilling along the edge. Quiet and beautiful.

I enlarged the image, took a screenshot, then opened WeChat and compared the two again and again. At last, I confirmed that they were identical.

So… did domineering CEOs use random pictures from the internet as their avatars too?

The thought almost made me laugh, but I couldn’t quite manage it.

Because if that wasn’t the explanation, there was only one other possibility: the poster and my husband were the same person.

With mixed feelings, I opened the question again.

Question: My wife wants a divorce. How can I win her back in the one month we have left? URGENT!!!

Details:

My wife and I married for certain reasons. We’ve been married for a year now.

We went to the same high school. She was my first love, and I still love her.

I know there’s someone else in her heart, and she only married me for my money.

But I don’t mind. Being able to see her every day already makes me happy.

I don’t know what I did wrong, though. Today, she suddenly asked me for a divorce!!!

I managed to delay it by a month, but I have no idea what to do next.

I can’t bear to divorce her, yet I feel I should respect her wishes.

Can anyone analyze this for me? I’m willing to pay handsomely!

That was the end of the post.

It must have been new, because there were only a handful of replies. I opened them one by one and discovered that the poster had answered every single person seriously.

Flying Wolf: Dude, you’re way too whipped.

Even a simp needs standards. She likes somebody else, so what are you waiting for? There are plenty of fish in the sea.

Come hang out with me. I’ll introduce you to someone new. Guaranteed reliable.

Against Etiquette: Thank you, but I don’t want anyone new. I simply don’t want a divorce.

Hehe: What do you mean she married you for your money? She’s obviously a gold digger. Women like that are easy—give her more money and she’ll behave.

Against Etiquette: Please withdraw that malicious assumption, or I will contact my lawyer. Besides, my money is already hers. It’s my honor if she’s willing to spend it.

AAA Fabric Wholesale Bunny: Stop giving advice, everyone. He’s obviously terminally love-addled. I’m speechless. May you two stay chained together forever.

Against Etiquette: Thank you for your blessing. I like it very much.

I scrolled down. Hardly anyone offered useful advice; most told him to break up.

After reading everything, I felt unusually lost.

The location, avatar, timing, and circumstances all matched.

Only the tone was completely different, as though the writer were another person.

And had my husband really attended the same high school as me? Why didn’t I remember him? Who was this supposed love of my life?

Those questions cooled my head.

…Maybe it was just a coincidence.

I comforted myself with that thought, exited the post, and tried to distract myself with something else.

But my heart kept itching, as if a feather were tickling it.

Ten minutes later, I finally made up my mind.

I created an alternate account, chose a man’s profile picture, and named it Love Guru—Mr. Wang.

Then I opened the poster’s profile and sent him a sales pitch I had copied.

[Are you trapped in the whirlpool of loving and being loved? Do conflicts in your relationship keep you tossing and turning at night?

I am Love Guru—Mr. Wang, a veteran relationship counselor who has helped more than five hundred clients escape emotional turmoil and find sweet love and happy marriages.

The message went through two seconds later.

Staring at the screen, I wondered uncertainly, This… should work, right?
