Chapter 3

After that day, the Bullet Comments began appearing before me frequently.

I walked into the hallway.

Bullet Comments:

“This spoiled drama queen is really something else. She never bothers to look at what’s actually on the hallway walls.”

I stiffened and turned my head toward the wall.

The murals I had grown accustomed to suddenly became terrifying.

What I thought were plum blossom paintings were actually composed of bloody handprints if I squinted my eyes.

Those were left behind by Players as they fled for their lives.

I covered my mouth and ran to the living room in a panic.

The castle’s living room was understated yet luxurious, brightly lit, with a red carpet covering the entire hall.

Just as I was about to breathe a sigh of relief…

Bullet Comments:

“This is where the big boss entertained those Players, and it’s also where he carried out a massive slaughter. The red on the carpet is all stained from the Players’ blood.”

“The burning candles nearby are made from corpse oil refined from the Players’ bodies.”

“The massive chandelier overhead is made from Players’ skulls.”

Me: “…”

There was nowhere to hide.

Under the descriptions of the Bullet Comments, the once-familiar castle had transformed into a purgatory filled with bloody carnage.

The silent yet efficient castle servants were actually a pack of monsters that would eat people without leaving a trace of bone.

The plants in the Back Garden were a cluster of blood-sucking Man-eating Flowers.

And Charles, as the true master of the castle, was the most terrifying and brutal existence in this dungeon instance.

His favorite pastime was using various cruel methods to hunt down the human Players who entered this dungeon instance.

No Player had ever survived more than three nights in the castle.

Except for me.

Not only had I lived in the castle for three years with the best food and drink, but I had also acted like the master of the castle, being a total brat and ordering this cold-blooded big boss around for nearly three years.

I was panicking.

According to the Bullet Comments, my death would come in half a month when the Female Lead arrived.

I had to find a way to leave this dungeon instance as soon as possible.

I had to get away from Charles.

When I brought up the idea of going for a stroll outside the castle to Charles, he elegantly and calmly kissed the back of my hand.

“Master, I have told you before that the world outside the castle is very dangerous.”

I feigned anger. “I don’t care! Staying in this castle day after day is boring me to death. I want to go out and breathe some fresh air!”

His expression turned thoughtful.

“In that case, I shall accompany you, Master.”

I wasn’t surprised.

I didn’t expect to escape this time; I just wanted to go out and familiarize myself with the route first.

As I started to walk toward the exit, Charles reached out to stop me. My heart tightened, thinking he had changed his mind.

Instead, he took a cloak from a servant and carefully draped it over me.

“The weather outside is chilly, and your body is weak, Master. You need to stay warm.”

His expression was serious and attentive, like a true Butler afraid that I would catch a cold outside.

My spoiled and willful temper had been indirectly nurtured by Charles’s indulgence.

With everything ready, we set off.

The forest was damp and dark, accompanied by the occasional low growls of monsters in the distance.

With a big boss like Charles present, no monster dared to cause trouble.

I had only walked for a short while before I grew tired.

Instinctively, I commanded Charles to carry me.

Then I realized that if I wanted to live long, I couldn’t be so willful anymore.

Just as I was about to take back my words, I was swept up into a princess carry.

A cold fragrance unique to Charles drifted into my nose.

My face was pressed against his chest as he continued forward, showing no sign of fatigue.

“Master, next time we go out, you can simply let me carry you. You do not need to walk yourself.”

I was a bit surprised.

I was surprised that his body temperature was no longer as ice-cold as before.

“Your body has become so warm.”

Charles asked, “May I enter your room to coax you to sleep tonight, Master?”

Meeting those silver-gray eyes, I felt as if I were being bewitched. “You may,” I said, as if possessed.

He curled his lips into a smile and pressed a kiss to my forehead.

“It would be my honor.”

The forest was too vast, and the castle sat in its deepest depths.

We only circled the inner perimeter before returning to the castle.

After coming back, I couldn’t stop coughing.

Bullet Comments:

“The Female Supporting Character is human. Only by staying in a supernatural dungeon instance for a long time would her body become this weak.”

“Even if the big boss doesn’t kill her, this body of hers won’t last much longer in this dungeon instance.”

Charles brought over a bowl of brewed medicine, blowing on it spoonful by spoonful before feeding it to me.

The medicine was at the perfect temperature.

After I finished the medicine, Charles thoughtfully used a handkerchief to wipe the residue from the corner of my mouth.

He left with the medicine bowl to prepare afternoon tea for me.

In truth, Charles wasn’t always this good at taking care of people.

I had trained him bit by bit.

Occasionally, I would lose myself in the tenderness and consideration he specifically crafted for me.

The Bullet Comments were right; monsters are born with the ability to bewitch hearts.

But I didn’t belong here after all.

I quickly struggled out of the haze of his gentleness.

I hardened my resolve to leave this place.
