Chapter 133
Chapter 133
What should you prepare before traveling to another world?
The first thing Qin Ying solemnly wrote in her little notebook was two big words: clothes.
She was good at learning from experience, and she had no desire to relive that previous embarrassment.
So the first thing she had to guarantee was that she wouldn’t show up in the World in the Box stark naked, running around like some wild savage.
Qin Ying immediately searched for doll clothes.
But after browsing for a while, she couldn’t find anything suitable.
Her Soul-Container Puppet was only the size of a peanut. It was simply too small. Even the most skillful craft bloggers were limited by the thickness of fabric and thread.
Just as she was about to give up, she suddenly saw a local handmade craft blogger.
On his homepage, as if showing off his skills, he had made quite a few miniature scenes and several tiny outfits.
Qin Ying casually swiped through and saw the blogger’s latest video: Sewing Doll Clothes Even in the Hospital.
In the video, she saw the blogger, whose face was pixelated, doing handicrafts in a hospital ward.
The background of the ward looked extremely familiar to Qin Ying, and even the blogger’s nimble fingers looked familiar.
Wasn’t that Yin Minmin?
After listening to the blogger speak, Qin Ying became even more certain of her guess.
She thought it over and decided to make a trip to the hospital.
Water Park had been sealed off for several days now. She could use visiting a patient as an excuse to ask around and see if there was any new information from that side.
Then she could decide when the best time would be to begin this trip to the World in the Box.
“Han Lie, I’m going out for a bit.” Qin Ying held a toothbrush in her mouth as she put the Soul-Container Puppet Han Lie was holding into an earring box.
Then she suddenly remembered that Han Lie probably hadn’t eaten anything either, so Qin Ying rummaged through her snacks and gave him a Pocky stick.
Han Lie had no idea what it was. He raised both hands, ready to catch the biscuit that, to him, was as long as a flagpole.
Unexpectedly, Qin Ying pulled her hand back halfway, her expression turning a little grave. “After your Monstrous Beast transformation, do you count as human or canine? Can you eat chocolate?”
To be safe, she switched the chocolate-filled biscuit stick for a milk-flavored one.
“Better eat this instead.”
Since she wasn’t sure what family a Qilin belonged to, Qin Ying did not want to come back and find Han Lie dead on her desk from eating chocolate.
Han Lie caught the biscuit stick with both hands and looked up worriedly. “Are you going out?”
When Han Lie had grown larger before, Qin Ying had taken him outside.
Although this world had no Monstrous Beasts, the streets were full of those iron giants called cars.
According to the Supreme Deity, they were extremely terrifying and deadly. Once they lost control, they could easily kill an adult.
Qin Ying’s condition today seemed worrying.
Could she really go out alone onto such dangerous streets?
Qin Ying had not expected her casual lesson on traffic safety to leave him traumatized. She said offhandedly, “Just for a little while. I’ll be back soon.”
“Stay home and keep an eye on the Thunderbird.”
The white deer Fuzhu and the Hou were too small, and they were also obsessed with watching TV, so they couldn’t cause much harm.
The Huodou Wangcai had more or less adapted to the environment at home and knew which places were dangerous and not to touch.
Besides, with its little short legs in this form, the worst damage it could cause was not making it to the backyard in time and pooping inside the house.
But the Thunderbird was different. That little bird had wings and could go anywhere.
Add its lightning attribute on top of that, and one careless moment could start a major fire.
The more Qin Ying thought about it, the less reassured she felt. She hurriedly took a shower, changed into a random outfit, and brought Han Lie downstairs to look for the bird.
As soon as she reached the first floor, she saw the Huodou Wangcai and the Thunderbird furtively working together to steal duck breast jerky for chewing.
The friendship between the tsundere puppy and the idiot little bird had formed both steadily and quickly.
The Thunderbird knocked over the bag containing the duck breast jerky, while Wangcai stood beneath the cabinet with its mouth open, ready to catch it.
No one knew how many pieces he had eaten, but Wangcai, who had only just finished his dog food, had stuffed himself until his belly was perfectly round. Even standing there, he couldn’t help lifting a hind leg.
Qin Ying took a deep breath. As she passed by, she put the bag of duck breast treats away in the cabinet.
Huodou Wangcai was displeased, but knowing he was in the wrong, he darted into the kitchen in a flash.
Thunderbird, on the other hand, had not the slightest awareness that it had done anything wrong. The moment it saw Qin Ying, it came fluttering over, chirping away and trying to cuddle up to her.
Qin Ying gave it no warmth. With a stern expression, she told Thunderbird that when she was not home, it had to listen to Han Lie.
Once she was certain Thunderbird would behave, she left the house under the watch of countless pairs of eyes.
On the way to the hospital, she bought a fruit basket, along with snacks and milk tea for Yin Minmin.
As she passed one of the wards, the first thing she heard was a furious roar from inside. “You little bastard!”
“Play, play, play, that’s all you know! One of these days, you’re going to play your own life away.”
The voice sounded familiar to Qin Ying. She looked through the ward door and, sure enough, saw Lin Yicheng’s older brother, Lin Yizhuo, roaring at his idiot of a younger brother who had nearly gotten himself killed.
Lin Yicheng had been an unexpected child born to the Lin couple in their later years. There was a nineteen-year age gap between the brothers.
By the time he was born, Lin Yizhuo had already joined the family’s pharmaceutical company and was preparing to take over.
With such a large age gap, there was no real power struggle between them. Their family was quite harmonious.
When Lin Yicheng was little, his big brother attended his parent-teacher conferences for him. After he grew up, that same big brother went around cleaning up his messes.
The eldest Lin brother did not look old. He had maintained both his figure and his appearance quite well.
Qin Ying had arrived just in time to witness the eldest Lin brother losing his temper at his foolish younger brother.
“Do you have any idea you almost died?”
Lin Yizhuo jabbed a finger at Lin Yicheng’s forehead. “Someone says a few words, and you run all the way here to buy fighting dogs? Rock climbing and racing aren’t enough for you anymore, is that it?”
“Can you let me have a little peace of mind for once?”
Lin Yicheng was being scolded so badly he did not dare talk back. He had his neck tucked in like a quail when he suddenly spotted Qin Ying at the door.
His face immediately lit up as if he had seen his savior. “Hey, bro, Qin Ying-Qin Ying’s here.”
Lin Yizhuo reined in his anger and turned to look.
Qin Ying openly indicated the fruit basket and snacks in her hands. “I’m here to see Minmin.”
“These are for the girl.”
Lin Yicheng’s expression soured. “It’s not like I’d care about that little stuff anyway.”
Qin Ying said, perfectly matter-of-fact, “That’s why I didn’t buy them for you.”
Lin Yicheng was about to say something else when his brother smacked him on the back of the head. “Do you not know basic manners?”
As one of the rare normal people among the rich and powerful, Lin Yizhuo was someone Qin Ying rather liked dealing with. She smiled. “President Lin.”
When Lin Yizhuo saw Qin Ying, he let out a long sigh. “I’m sorry, Qin Ying. Yicheng has caused you trouble again.”
Qin Ying waved it off. “No need to be so polite.”
Her gaze swept over Lin Yicheng. Seeing that he was not wearing a hospital gown, she said as if offering a hint, “Who was it that brought you to Yunlan City back then?”
“Their intentions were pretty vicious.”
The Lin brothers’ expressions changed at the same time.
Lin Yizhuo glared at Lin Yicheng, then lowered his voice and said to Qin Ying, “It involved some business matters. The other party was deliberately trying to get revenge, and this idiot got dragged into it too.”
To be fair, the way Lin Yicheng had turned out was definitely due in part to how much his brother spoiled him.
Qin Ying was about to ask for more details when Lin Yicheng said apologetically, “This whole thing blew up a bit. Word reached Feng Mu.”
“He…” Lin Yizhuo hesitated, then said, “He probably came to Yunlan too.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Qin Ying’s face darkened with obvious disgust, just as expected.
