Chapter 55

Why did his hands suddenly feel a bit itchy?

Su Gou couldn’t help but rub his thumb and index finger together.

After doing so, he glanced back with the guilt of a thief.

Five sleeping bags were arranged neatly on the floor. Only the sound of steady breathing proved that the others weren’t dead yet.

Good, they were all asleep.

Since there was nothing else to do anyway, maybe he could…

Su Gou stood on his tiptoes and crept toward the corner of the room, moving with extreme caution to avoid making a single sound.

He tried to hypnotize himself: *I don’t actually like such childish things. I’m just doing this to kill time.*

*So, where exactly is this bone supposed to go?*

Su Gou stared at the white bone in his hand, lost in thought.

Yun Youyou wasn’t asleep at all.

She was currently a ghost, not a human; she didn’t need sleep at all.

Accompanied by the sound of light snoring nearby, Yun Youyou kept her eyes wide open, staring blankly at the ceiling in a daze.

Why couldn’t humans have evolved past the need for sleep?

*Clack!*

Something seemed to have fallen onto the floor, letting out a crisp sound.

Yun Youyou tilted her head slightly and glanced to the side, only to see a segment of bone lying on the ground.

Standing next to the bone was a man whose entire face was practically screaming “sneaky.”

Yun Youyou: “…”

Su Gou was nearly scared to death. He scrambled to pick the bone up from the floor, terrified that the noise might have woken the others.

After retrieving it, he cast a wary glance toward the sleeping bags.

Seeing his gaze sweep over her, Yun Youyou’s lips couldn’t help but twitch. She quickly shut her eyes, pretending she hadn’t seen a thing.

Everyone had their own struggles; it was better to let him save some face.

Seeing that no one had woken up, Su Gou let out a long sigh of relief.

Yun Youyou had originally intended to just fake sleep, but surprisingly, she actually drifted off after a while.

By the time she woke up, everyone else was already out of bed.

Only one of the five sleeping bags remained on the floor.

Four people were huddled around the Skeleton in the corner.

Su Gou sat to the side with his arms crossed like a haughty old lord. He watched the others with a look of utter disdain as they squatted on the ground, butts in the air, trying to piece the Skeleton together.

Yun Youyou: “…”

Su “I Don’t Like Playing with Ghost Realm Lego” Gou had likely taken the completed Skeleton apart just so he could sit there and act like he wasn’t interested at all.

If Yun Youyou hadn’t seen him building it with her own eyes, she might have actually believed him.

Seeing that the four of them still hadn’t finished after so long, a smug smile tugged at the corners of Su Gou’s mouth. If he had a big fluffy tail behind him, it would have been wagging high in the air by now.

He had managed to finish the whole thing by himself in just one hour earlier.

Su Gou’s confidence was bursting; he tilted his chin up proudly.

Yun Youyou: “…”

Su Gou felt a burning gaze staring at him from behind.

When he turned around, he met Yun Youyou’s complicated, indescribable expression.

Su Gou looked away uncomfortably, though his heart swelled with even more pride.

He knew he was handsome, but Yun Youyou didn’t have to keep staring at him like that, did she? It was a bit embarrassing.

Or could it be that Yun Youyou had actually fallen for him?

Su Gou’s ears began to turn red and hot. He didn’t even dare to look at Yun Youyou anymore.

But now wasn’t a good time for a romance. The Game was full of dangers. If Yun Youyou and his teammates were in danger at the same time, who should he save first?

Su Gou fell into deep thought.

Yun Youyou watched as Su Gou went from looking haughty to having shy, red ears, and finally to frowning deeply as if he had encountered some monumental problem.

Yun Youyou silently averted her gaze.

*Don’t try to guess a man’s mind; you’ll never figure it out anyway.*

“Youyou, you’re awake!”

The Short-haired Female Player rubbed her aching lower back, catching sight of Yun Youyou packing up her sleeping bag out of the corner of her eye.
“You can just leave the sleeping bag there. I’ll tidy it up later.”

Despite what the Short-haired Female Player said, Yun Youyou still folded the sleeping bag and placed it neatly to the side.

“Everyone, quiet!”

Su Gou, who had been leaning back in his chair lost in thought, suddenly straightened up. His gaze abruptly became sharp and profound.

There seemed to be people talking outside the door.

Su Gou signaled to his teammates and picked up the gun beside him, slowly approaching the entrance.

In this moment of emergency, the teammates didn’t care about their Lego sets anymore. They quickly grabbed their weapons and stood cautiously behind the door, ready to strike at any moment.

Yun Youyou, who had no weapon, was protected by the others and stood at the very back.

As a ghost, Yun Youyou was experiencing the surreal sensation of being protected by Players.

Even though the voices outside sounded human, Su Gou remained on high alert.

Su Gou made a gesture to open the door.

The teammates behind him nodded solemnly, gripping their weapons tightly, prepared to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy.

As soon as the door opened, Su Gou quickly raised his gun to aim, staring intently at the two people outside.

“Who are you? What are you doing here?”

Two men stood at the door, one behind the other. Both were wearing hospital gowns, and it was impossible to tell where they had come from.

The man standing in front had a high bridge to his nose and features as beautiful as a painting. With just a single glance upward, he exerted an immense sense of pressure.

Even with a gun pointed directly at his forehead, he didn’t seem to care in the slightest.

Su Gou’s hand tightened around his gun as alarm bells rang in his head.

This handsome man was definitely not someone to be trifled with!

“Eh? Yun Youyou, why are you here too?”

A man poked his head out from behind, standing on his tiptoes to peer inside the room.

Yun Youyou heard the familiar voice and emerged from the back, looking at the two men in surprise.

“Why are you guys here?”

Why were Ji Lin and Wang Yuanyou here?

For a moment, Yun Youyou couldn’t even tell which Instance she was in anymore.

“You know each other?”

Su Gou’s tense posture relaxed slightly, but he still didn’t lower his gun.

Wang Yuanyou blurted out immediately, “Of course! We’re the very best of friends!”

Yun Youyou: “…”

How do you have the guts to say a ghost is your very best friend?

Su Gou didn’t move, still waiting for Yun Youyou to nod.

Only after Yun Youyou gave a reluctant nod did he finally lower the gun in his hand.

The Short-haired Female Player felt like her eyes weren’t enough to take it all in.

Handsome guys!

So many handsome guys!

She had originally thought their Captain was handsome enough, but she hadn’t expected the man at the door to be earth-shatteringly gorgeous!

The one behind him was slightly less striking, but he was still a clean-cut, handsome guy.

With three handsome men gathered in one place, it was practically paradise for a visual-lover!

Wang Yuanyou was about to ask Yun Youyou about the situation when he suddenly saw the red, swollen marks on her wrists.

He let out a cry of alarm. “Yun Youyou, what happened to your hands?”

Ji Lin followed Wang Yuanyou’s gaze.

He also saw the injuries on Yun Youyou’s hands. His gaze darkened instantly, and a storm began to brew within his pitch-black pupils.

His eyes specifically landed on a hemp rope that had been tossed onto the floor.

“Yun Youyou, come here.”

Ji Lin’s tone was icy. The way he looked at Su Gou was as if he were looking at a dead man.

Wang Yuanyou was also furious.

They actually used a rope to tie Yun Youyou up! Who knew how else they had been abusing her behind closed doors!

At this moment, Wang Yuanyou and Ji Lin had completely forgotten that Yun Youyou wasn’t human, but a ghost.

Marks?

Yun Youyou looked at her wrists in confusion.

If Wang Yuanyou hadn’t suddenly mentioned it, even Yun Youyou herself wouldn’t have known that a red welt had swollen up on her wrist.
