Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Haven’t they seen horror movies? Usually, the person who suggests playing this game is the first one to die.
Yun Youyou initially thought the others wouldn’t agree.
To her surprise, this group of naive fools actually did.
“Sure, why not! This is my first time playing Truth or Dare inside a Game Instance.”
“Playing in such a thrilling environment will definitely make for a better experience!”
Yun Youyou was speechless. “Aren’t you afraid of something happening?”
“Something happening? Like what?”
The Tall Man said dismissively, “Unless my teammates turn into ghosts, what could possibly happen?”
Yun Youyou: I don’t know if your teammates will turn into ghosts, but I definitely am one.
And so, Truth or Dare began.
They found a bottle of alcohol spray nearby to use.
“I’ll spin first for the first round. Whoever the nozzle points at is the one, and that person must choose Dare.”
The Tall Man held the spray bottle, eager to start.
The others also looked excited. “We’re ready, hurry up and start.”
“Let’s see who the first lucky winner is!”
The Tall Man rubbed his hands together, blew a breath on them, and excitedly spun the bottle.
The bottle flickered and spun rapidly on the floor.
Everyone’s eyes were glued to it, their breathing so shallow it was almost inaudible, for fear of affecting the result.
“Hahahaha!!! It’s not me!!!”
“Not me either!!!”
“Escaped at last. My heart almost stopped.”
The Short-haired Woman looked at Yun Youyou sympathetically. “So you’re an Unlucky Person. I thought you’d be a Lucky King.”
Winning on the very first round-that was definitely the mark of an Unlucky Person.
Yun Youyou didn’t mind. “Fine, so what’s my Dare?”
The Tall Man gave a mischievous grin.
“Don’t worry, I won’t make it too hard on a girl. Just close your eyes, walk fifty steps forward, then open them and tell me what you see.”
As soon as he finished, the Short-haired Woman let out a cry of alarm.
“Holy crap, you call that not making it hard? That’s terrifying! Who knows what kind of ghostly things might show up here?”
Yun Youyou, who was essentially a ghostly thing herself, remained expressionless.
The Tall Man waved his hand impatiently. “The more thrilling the game, the better. You girls are just too timid. Besides, Brother Su already took us on a sweep of this floor today. Nothing is going to happen.”
The Short-haired Woman opened her mouth to say more, but the Long-haired Woman beside her quietly tugged at her sleeve.
The Short-haired Woman had no choice but to shut her mouth resentfully.
They were all teammates; if they needed a favor from him in the future, they couldn’t afford to let the relationship get too strained now.
However, the Short-haired Woman couldn’t help herself in the end, saying to Yun Youyou, “How about I go with you?”
Before Yun Youyou could speak, the Tall Man cut in. “No way! Those are the rules of the game. If we break the rules in the very first round, how are we supposed to keep playing?”
The Short-haired Woman stood up in anger.
“You!”
Yun Youyou stood up and pressed her back down.
“It’s fine. It’s just a game; I can go by myself.”
Yun Youyou was a ghost herself, so naturally, she had nothing to fear.
The Tall Man nodded with satisfaction. “Exactly. That’s the spirit of the game.”
The Short-haired Woman glared at him and sat to the side with her arms crossed, fuming.
In the dark corridor, the sound of footsteps rang out-one step, two steps, three steps.
The echoes of the footsteps vibrated clearly in everyone’s ears, and they felt a creeping chill crawling up from their knees.
The Tall Man couldn’t help but rub his arms.
“Why did it suddenly get so cold?”
The person next to him chimed in, “I think I feel it too.”
It was truly bizarre.
Yun Youyou silently counted fifty steps in her head.
The others could only see her silhouette flickering in and out of the darkness; everything else was obscured.
When the sound of footsteps finally ceased, they knew she had reached the fiftieth step.
The Tall Man raised his voice and shouted, “You can open your eyes now! Tell me, what’s in front of you?”
They all had a rough idea of what the answer would be.
They had walked up and down this corridor several times already; they knew what was there even with their eyes closed.
In short, the answer would either be “It’s too dark, I can’t see anything” or “There’s a giant crater from the bomb blast.”
Yun Youyou’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she opened her eyes.
A Skeleton Ghost was face-to-face with her.
This ghost’s white skeletal frame even had a few chunks of rotting flesh hanging off it. Upon closer inspection, one could see white, bloated maggots writhing disgustingly within the decay.
Very good. This was very much like a ghost story.
Seeing that Yun Youyou hadn’t answered, the Tall Man couldn’t help but ask again, “What~ do~ you~ see!”
Yun Youyou calmly took a step back.
“I see a Skeleton. He has quite broad shoulders; he might have been a Double-door Fridge Hunk when he was alive.”
The Players still sitting in their original spots were completely bewildered.
They understood every single word in that sentence, but when put together, they had no idea what it was supposed to mean.
A Skeleton?
A Double-door Fridge Hunk?
Had a refrigerator gained sentience, or were skeleton-shaped fridges the latest trend?
The Short-haired Woman muttered to herself, “A skeleton? Could it be a medical model from the hospital that someone accidentally knocked over into here?”
Yun Youyou’s voice drifted over from the distance.
“I don’t think so, because this Skeleton can move.”
A moving Skeleton?
The Players: !!!
Damn it, this wasn’t just some simple Skeleton!
This was a ghost!
While Yun Youyou was abnormally calm despite being face-to-face with a ghost, the Players behind her were already losing their minds.
Oh god! There’s a living ghost here!
In that instant, they just wanted to rush back into the base, grab Su Gou’s legs, and scream, “Captain, save me!”
But they had their pride.
Since they had already talked big in front of their Captain, returning now with terrified faces to beg for help would be incredibly humiliating.
The Short-haired Woman’s voice cracked with anxiety.
She wanted to call Yun Youyou back, but she was afraid that startling the ghost would put Yun Youyou in even more danger. She could only suppress her voice, frantically whispering, “Come back, quickly!”
The group pulled out the weapons at their waists and began to back away.
The Skeleton was still staring at Yun Youyou.
Its intelligence wasn’t very high.
It didn’t understand why Yun Youyou hadn’t screamed when she saw it, especially since everyone else was so afraid of it.
It didn’t matter; it must be because it wasn’t being scary enough.
Having reached this conclusion, the Skeleton stiffly reached out its hands, intending to throttle Yun Youyou’s neck.
Bone ground against bone with a creaking sound.
Yun Youyou waved her hand irritably. “Get lost. Don’t bother Sis.”
She “accidentally” used a bit too much strength.
With a single slap from Yun Youyou, the Skeleton’s head was sent flying, rolling several times across the floor.
The Skeleton: ???
The Players huddled together in fear, their eyes bulging as they watched the skull roll energetically out of the darkness toward them.
The Players: ???

Sorry, Sis is the NPC You Can’t Catch Up With
(A completely brainless, silly story)
Yun Youyou opened her eyes and found that she had inexplicably become an NPC in a Horror Game.
