Chapter 43

“What is this thing?”

The man looked strangely at the things wrapped around his neck and legs.

In the next second, he saw his own neck exposed to the air, clean and bare, as blood erupted from the stump and splattered across his face.

???

The man’s eyes widened in disbelief.

It wasn’t until his head had rolled several times on the ground that he realized it had been ripped off by those thin, long tentacles.

In the final second of his vision, he saw his body being torn to pieces in mid-air, with bright red blood and scattered limbs filling the sky.

The remaining two men: !!!

Holy crap, what kind of monster is this!

Ji Lin had been about to make a move, but seeing this sudden scene, he silently put his hand back at his side.

This brutal method, paired with Yun Youyou’s beautiful and delicate face, created a contrast like Sister Lin suddenly dropping to the ground to do a hundred push-ups, then standing up and saying to you, “Hey bro, do I look badass or what?”

Wang Yuanyou’s mouth hung open in a daze, his jaw nearly dislocated.

Yun Youyou was also bewildered, standing there covered in blood.

Why did it feel like those tentacles had sprouted from her back?

Wait!

Wasn’t this the skill of the Landlord from the villa last time?

How did I end up with these slightly disgusting little tentacles?

Yun Youyou seemed to realize something and tapped on the Light Brain on her wrist.

Sure enough, in the section for skills acquired from the Game, she saw those familiar words-“Tentacle Attack.”

She had actually obtained a Boss skill from the previous Instance!

She was happy to have a new skill, but looking at these ugly-cute tentacles, Yun Youyou really couldn’t bring herself to be that excited.

Behind her, the two accomplices were shaking so hard their legs were like jelly, with sweat the size of beans dripping down like rain. Seeing their companion torn to pieces and his head rolling far away, they couldn’t help but feel a wave of retrospective terror.

Yun Youyou felt like there were two motors vibrating incessantly behind her.

She glanced back at the two men and said casually, “Oh, right. You were just about to make me kneel and apologize, weren’t you?”

The two motors shook even harder.

The tentacles behind Yun Youyou were still twitching eagerly in the air, like the snakes of Medusa.

*Thud!*

The two men knelt on the ground in unison.

“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It was my mistake, I failed to recognize your greatness! Please, spare me! If you can’t spare me, can you at least leave me an intact corpse?”

At this moment, how could they care about dignity?

Perhaps finding it fun, a tentacle behind Yun Youyou curiously poked out and extended in front of one of the men.

An eye on the tentacle happened to meet the man’s gaze and even gave a playful blink.

“AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”

A shrill scream full of terror echoed through the entire activity room.

Under the extreme fear, he finally couldn’t take it anymore and fainted.

Yun Youyou: …Sorry, I’m really sorry.

She hurriedly reached out to pull that disobedient tentacle back.

Having just acquired this skill, Yun Youyou didn’t know how to control it yet, so she had to resort to manual control.

Just as she pulled one back, another one poked out.

Yun Youyou was in a frantic scramble.

The man still kneeling on the ground couldn’t be more envious of his companion who had already passed out.

He really wanted to faint too, so he wouldn’t have to face this terrifying scene.

The sweat on his forehead poured out faster and faster, and his whole body was trembling with fear.

Under the immense pressure, he decided to just go for it-he reached out and grabbed a tentacle himself, pulling it right in front of his face.
“Aaaaaaaaah!!!”

Another blood-curdling scream rang out.

The last man slumped to the ground, his body going limp.

He had successfully managed to scare himself into a dead faint.

Yun Youyou: “…”

This guy was totally faking it!

The tentacles, however, were delighted. They danced wildly in the air, and one even extended right in front of Ji Lin.

It peered at Ji Lin curiously, swaying gently from side to side like a child sizing up a stranger.

Just as the tentacle tried to coil around him, Ji Lin reached out and caught it in his hand.

The previously unruly appendage now stayed perfectly still in his grip, behaving itself.

A faint current of electricity suddenly surged from the tentacle to Yun Youyou’s sensory organs.

The tentacles were like extensions of her own senses; Ji Lin holding the tentacle felt no different from him holding Yun Youyou’s hand.

Feeling incredibly self-conscious, Yun Youyou hurried over to reclaim her disobedient limb.

“Sorry about that. The kid’s a bit unruly; don’t take it personally.”

The tentacle was still struggling.

Yun Youyou simply gathered all several dozen tentacles together and tied them into a large bow.

That should stop them from running wild.

Ji Lin’s eye twitched as he stared at the bow on Yun Youyou’s back.

To someone with his level of obsessive-compulsive tendencies, the messy tangle of tentacles behind Yun Youyou was an absolute nightmare.

He tried to endure it, but ultimately couldn’t. He stepped toward her.

Yun Youyou startled. “What are you doing?”

Ji Lin didn’t answer. He reached out and untied the bow.

Yun Youyou nearly jumped out of her skin, struggling to pull away.

Ji Lin gave her tentacle a gentle tug. “Don’t move.”

Yun Youyou went still.

But after a moment, she started giggling like a little maniac.

For no other reason than the fact that Ji Lin’s hands were moving across her back, brushing against her ticklish spots.

Ji Lin watched helplessly as she doubled over in laughter.

After smoothing out the tentacles, Ji Lin pressed them against Yun Youyou’s back. A moment later, they all vanished.

Yun Youyou felt her own back.

It was bare; there was nothing there.

“That’s amazing! How did they just disappear like that?”

Ji Lin withdrew his hand and took a step back. “You need to learn how to control them.”

Yun Youyou asked, “How?”

Ji Lin lightly tapped her forehead. “With this.”

Yun Youyou nodded, though she didn’t quite understand.

In a corner nearby, Wang Yuanyou was secretly observing the scene.

His jaw, which had previously hit the floor when Yun Youyou was tearing the patients apart, was now firmly back in place.

He watched the interaction between Yun Youyou and Ji Lin with satisfaction.

So sweet. It was enough to make any single person jealous.

That’s right! This is exactly how a young couple should act.

When Ji Lin walked back over, Wang Yuanyou gave him a playful nudge in the chest with his elbow, a mischievous grin on his face.

“Yo! When are you inviting me to the wedding?”

Ji Lin spared him a cold glance. “There’s no wedding, but I can give you a kick.”

Wang Yuanyou’s smile froze, and he quickly jumped back a step.

“Never mind, forget I said anything. I’m far too delicate to handle a kick.”

The danger had passed, but a new problem had arisen.

Yun Youyou stared blankly at the two men who had fainted from fright and the severed limbs scattered across the floor.

How was she supposed to deal with this?

By the time Fang Yu felt enough time had passed and came to get Yun Youyou, she found the activity room in a state of absolute carnage.

The two groups stood inside, the line between them clearly drawn.

(A completely brainless, silly story)

Yun Youyou opened her eyes and found that she had inexplicably become an NPC in a Horror Game.
