Chapter 41

Under Yun Youyou’s careful and gentle persuasion, the two patients finally saw the light and turned back from their misguided ways.

The other patients, having witnessed the previous scene, watched Yun Youyou with looks of suspicion and uncertainty. Birds and squirrels seemed to scatter wherever she walked.

The patients all took a collective step back, guarding against the possibility of Yun Youyou suddenly pulling out a chainsaw to hack them down.

“Let’s go. I’ll take you to the activity room.”

With a grand wave of her hand, Yun Youyou took the lead and headed out.

Fang Yu had told her that once she exited the cafeteria doors, she just had to keep walking straight to find the activity room.

The long corridor seemed endless at a glance. However, the dull thud of footsteps added a few hints of life to the silent hospital.

Yun Youyou noticed a few patients trying to sneak out of the line to flee back to their rooms. To resolutely put a stop to such behavior, she asked Ji Lin to stand at the very front and Wang Yuanyou to stand in the middle, while she brought up the rear.

With someone watching the front, middle, and back of the line, not even a mosquito could fly out.

It wasn’t that no one tried to force their way through, but as soon as Yun Youyou blocked them with her chainsaw, they had no choice but to retreat obediently.

They walked for an unknown amount of time.

Ji Lin came to a halt in front of a door. He reached out to push it open.

It didn’t budge.

Yun Youyou walked over at that moment and glanced at the sign on the doorframe. It was indeed the activity room.

She also tried to push the door open.

The door remained completely motionless.

The patients behind them were delighted.

“Great! Let’s just go back for the day. I don’t want to come to this stupid activity room at all.”

“Exactly. Only a fool would follow a schedule. I’m going back to my ward to sleep.”

“Actually, I’ve been cured for a long time. Nurse, just let us go back.”

Yun Youyou, of course, would not allow them to return. If she failed to fulfill her duties as an NPC, the Game would deduct experience points, and worst of all, it would deduct money.

If she had no money to deduct, the Game would assign her even more work.

This damn Game was truly devious; it hadn’t told her a single thing about this. If Fang Yu hadn’t mentioned it just now, Yun Youyou would still be in the dark.

She turned around to soothe the patients’ emotions.

“Don’t worry, everyone. I promise you’ll get to do your activities today.”

Ji Lin naturally had a way to get the door open, but he didn’t move. He wanted to see how Yun Youyou would open it.

Yun Youyou was wearing a simple white nurse’s dress, her long black hair tied up behind her head, looking both pure and beautiful. She was currently calming the patients’ irritable moods; her almond-shaped eyes were as gentle as lake water, and her voice was as sweet as the dimples on her face, making one feel comfortable and at ease just listening to her.

Wang Yuanyou silently watched Ji Lin’s every move from behind. He didn’t miss the way Ji Lin’s gaze remained fixed on Yun Youyou.

He immediately cooked up a mental drama: *You love me, but I don’t love you; I love you, but I cannot be with you.*

Just thinking about it made him feel the angst.

Pity the lovers of the world!

Wang Yuanyou let out a long, heavy sigh behind Ji Lin, forcing Ji Lin to withdraw his gaze and frown at him.

Facing Ji Lin’s look, Wang Yuanyou sighed heavily again. “Sigh… just keep watching. Don’t mind me. Sometimes love is just like that-it makes one toss and turn, unable to sleep all night.”

Ji Lin: “…”

Utterly nonsensical.

Faced with Yun Youyou’s gentle and considerate persuasion, the patients were still somewhat reluctant, but as the saying goes, one does not strike a smiling face. Besides, this new nurse looked like she had thin arms and legs; she probably wouldn’t be able to push this door open anyway.
The Giant was the first to speak. “You go ahead and try. If you can’t open it, I’ll help you.”

Yun Youyou replied, “I appreciate the offer, but I’m certain I can get it open.”

The others thought Yun Youyou was being incredibly boastful.

Before they could voice their doubts, the “frail and weak” Yun Youyou had already produced her ancient artifact-the Demon-Slaying Chainsaw.

Once this artifact made its appearance, ghosts and demons alike were forced to shut their mouths.

Even if the patients wanted to say something, it was useless. The roar of the chainsaw easily drowned out their voices.

Yun Youyou used the chainsaw to carve a massive hole directly into the door.

Fortunately, the door was made of thick wooden planks; if it had been an iron door, it would have taken quite a bit more time.

Yun Youyou herded the patients inside like a flock of ducks. “Don’t be shy, everyone get in. No need to change your shoes-just make yourselves at home.”

Everyone: “…”

*Bullshit! My home isn’t this dilapidated!*

The first patient to step inside was nearly choked to death by the clouds of dust.

“Cough, cough, cough… What kind of dump is this?”

Yun Youyou also got a face full of floating dust. She quickly pulled a mask out of her pocket and put it on, feeling much better instantly.

The activity room was actually quite spacious. There were several xiangqi tables, a few ping-pong tables, and a large television hanging on the far wall.

While it was a bit filthy, the equipment looked relatively new.

Yun Youyou tore down a curtain and ripped it into many small pieces. She handed a makeshift rag to each patient. “Divide the work among yourselves and give this place a bit of a cleaning.”

The patients stared blankly as they took the rags.

They had been here for a long time, but this was the first time they had heard such an unreasonable request.

“Are you kidding me? You’re making us do the cleaning?”

The patients looked at Yun Youyou, speechless.

Yun Youyou replied matter-of-factly, “This is your activity room, not mine. Whoever uses it is responsible for it.”

They wanted to put up a fight, but when they turned around, they saw that Ji Lin and the Crooked-Neck Tree Brothers were already working away with their rags.

Traitors!

Surrendering so quickly-they weren’t acting like men at all!

Resentfully, several patients took their rags and began perfunctorily wiping down the tables.

This nurse was violent and lacked any sense of tenderness; she wasn’t a good nurse at all.

Taking advantage of a moment when Yun Youyou wasn’t looking, a few lazy patients huddled together to secretly plot how to give her a piece of their minds.

“This nurse is awful. I still like the old nurses better.”

“Psh, she’s only acting tough because of that chainsaw. Let’s steal it later and see what she does then!”

“Who’s going to steal it? I don’t dare.”

“Aren’t we supposed to have our blood pressure taken soon? I’ll distract her, and you guys sneak away with the chainsaw.”

“Fine, let’s do it!”

The next second, Yun Youyou’s gaze swept toward them as they crouched in the corner.

“Are you lot slacking off?”

“No, we’re just… assigning tasks.”

They immediately stood up and began huffing and puffing as they scrubbed the tables.

Just as the patients expected, Fang Yu eventually arrived carrying a blood pressure monitor.

Before entering, she looked at the door with the gaping hole in it, and her lip couldn’t help but twitch.

She had forgotten to give Yun Youyou the key earlier.

But looking at it now, the key was no longer necessary.

(A completely brainless, silly story)

Yun Youyou opened her eyes and found that she had inexplicably become an NPC in a Horror Game.
