Chapter 39

Yun Youyou watched their retreating figures with a gratified smile.

“Youyou, the two of us will help you wake the patients up.”

Wang Yuanyou looked curiously at the remaining rooms.

Ji Lin noticed the change in how Wang Yuanyou addressed her and flicked his gaze over to him.

Wang Yuanyou was completely oblivious.

“Sure! With the two of you helping, I’ll definitely be more efficient.”

Yun Youyou readily accepted the proposal.

Wang Yuanyou glanced at the chainsaw Yun Youyou was carrying.

He felt that with that thing in hand, she didn’t need to worry about efficiency at all.

Arriving at the next door, before Yun Youyou could even open it, she heard someone inside banging against the door with a series of loud thuds.

“Let me out! Let me out right now! I’m not mentally ill! You’re the ones who are crazy! Let me out!”

The roars from inside were crystal clear even from outside the room.

Wang Yuanyou, being closest to the door, was startled. He muttered under his breath, “I’m not mentally ill either, yet here I am, locked up too.”

Yun Youyou remarked dryly, “How do you know you aren’t?”

Wang Yuanyou blanked. “Of course I’m not.”

He knew his words sounded hollow, but he truly didn’t know how to prove he wasn’t insane.

Trapped in a self-justification paradox, Wang Yuanyou had no choice but to drag Ji Lin, who was standing beside him, down with him.

“How could I possibly be mentally ill? Unless Ji Lin is too.”

Both Yun Youyou and Wang Yuanyou turned their gazes toward Ji Lin.

Ji Lin slowly spat out two words: “I am.”

Wang Yuanyou: “…”

That was low. Just to prove he was crazy, Ji Lin was willing to claim he was crazy too.

He hadn’t realized Ji Lin was such a dog before.

Yun Youyou patted Wang Yuanyou on the shoulder. “It’s okay. If you’re sick, we’ll treat it. I’ll go prescribe some medicine for you later. I guarantee it’ll cure you in no time.”

Wang Yuanyou was sulking.

“Hmph, you little couple only know how to bully me. I’m not taking your medicine; I’d like to live a few more years.”

Yun Youyou almost thought her ears were playing tricks on her.

“Couple? Where’s the couple?”

Yun Youyou looked around in confusion, searching for a long time without finding any couple.

She looked at Wang Yuanyou suspiciously. “Have you seen a ghost?”

Wang Yuanyou: “…Aren’t you a ghost?”

As if sensing that the people outside were ignoring him, the person inside the ward began banging on the door even harder.

The iron chains on the outside rattled incessantly along with the noise.

Wang Yuanyou asked, “How are we supposed to get in?”

The person inside sounded like they had lost their mind; rushing in would surely lead to injuries.

Yun Youyou patiently asked the patient inside, “If you aren’t mentally ill, then what are you?”

“I am the Emperor! Where has my beloved concubine gone?”

The voice inside suddenly became solemn and dignified, and the banging stopped.

Wang Yuanyou almost thought he had been transported to another time.

Could this crappy Game actually have an Instance with an ancient setting?

While he was pondering, Yun Youyou had already started acting.

“Your Majesty! Your Majesty! This humble servant has missed you so dearly! I cannot sleep, I cannot eat-every waking moment is spent thinking of you, Your Majesty! It is only a pity that we have been harmed by treacherous villains and cannot return yet.”

The patient inside was overcome with grief upon hearing this. “My beloved, you have suffered! Rest assured, once I am out, I shall surely crown you as my Empress!”

Yun Youyou’s eyes grew misty with tears. “Your Majesty, we can only lie low here and wait for the right moment. Once you have successfully integrated into this place, that shall be the moment of our victory. Your Majesty, you are the only one I can rely on now!”

Following this speech, the ‘Emperor’ inside the room was already weeping uncontrollably.

His beloved concubine had sacrificed far too much for him.

“Then what should I do now?”

“Your Majesty, it is time for you to go to the cafeteria for a meal.”

“Very well, I shall go at once.”

With that, the ward door was pushed wide open, and the person inside charged out at lightning speed.

If the three of them hadn’t dodged quickly, they likely would have been sent flying by the door.

Wang Yuanyou watched the scene, utterly speechless at the spectacle.
He sized Yun Youyou up with a look of utter astonishment. “Were you an actress in your past life?”

Yun Youyou replied, “No, I’m just an ordinary person.”

Wang Yuanyou countered, “I don’t think there’s anything ordinary about you at all.”

The three of them soon arrived at the next door.

Yun Youyou used the key to unlock it and gave the door a gentle push.

It didn’t budge.

Strange. Was someone inside leaning against it?

“Let me try.”

Wang Yuanyou volunteered, stepping up to the door and giving it a shove.

He couldn’t open it either.

His pride wounded and unwilling to lose face in front of others, Wang Yuanyou let out an awkward laugh. “I didn’t use any strength just now. Let me try again.”

This time, he put his whole body into it. His teeth were clenched, veins popped on his arms, and he was shaking from the sheer effort, yet he only managed to push the door open a tiny crack.

*Thud!*

The crack slammed shut almost immediately.

Wang Yuanyou’s arms went limp; he couldn’t push it anymore.

“There must be a Hulk or an Iron Man in there. I used that much strength and still couldn’t open it. This isn’t normal-this is totally abnormal!”

Yun Youyou stepped forward and knocked on the door. “Hello? Is anyone inside?”

A muffled voice came from within. “No one is here.”

Yun Youyou: …

Excellent. Such an interesting answer was a rare find these days.

“After I got married, my husband beat and verbally abused me. He even got involved with my biological brother. Fortunately, the person my brother actually loves is me. Now my husband and my younger sister are planning to take revenge on me. Open the door, and I’ll tell you my plan for vengeance.”

Yun Youyou leaned against the door, quietly waiting for the reaction of the person inside.

There was a moment of silence.

Suddenly, a “click” echoed through the air.

The door opened, and a two-meter-tall man stepped out, standing before Yun Youyou like a small mountain.

Wang Yuanyou wasn’t short himself, but standing before such a Giant, he looked quite petite.

He compared the difference in their physiques.

No wonder the door wouldn’t open; there really was a Giant inside.

The Giant walked up to Yun Youyou and looked down at her from his towering height.

“So, how do you plan to get revenge? What’s the relationship between your husband and your sister? Are you and your brother blood-related? Do your parents know about this? Who does your husband actually love?”

The Giant bombarded her with a string of questions the moment he opened his mouth.

Yun Youyou had no intention of satisfying his curiosity just yet. “Go eat according to the schedule like a good boy, and I’ll tell you everything later. I still have to go call the others.”

The Giant thought about it. “Really?”

Yun Youyou nodded with certainty. “Of course.”

The Giant agreed. “Fine. Then I’ll help you call the others. You have to tell me the story later.”

Yun Youyou replied, “No problem!”

With the Giant’s help, Yun Youyou’s work progress became incredibly fast.

Upon seeing the Giant’s size, many patients didn’t need another word; they immediately turned around and headed for the cafeteria.

There were also quite a few stubborn ones who insisted on defying Yun Youyou.

When he encountered such people, the Giant would simply throw a punch, flattening them instantly. Then, he would pick them up like little chicks and ask with a cold face, “Are you going or not?”

“I’m going! I’m going!”

The Giant added, “Don’t use foul language.”

With that, he delivered another punch.

Watching from the side, Wang Yuanyou’s teeth ached. He winced and grimaced as if that punch had landed on his own face.

He glanced to the side and noticed that Ji Lin wasn’t looking at the Giant; his gaze was fixed on Yun Youyou.

Wang Yuanyou scoffed inwardly.

And he still claims he doesn’t like her?

If you two aren’t a little couple, then who is?

With the Giant’s assistance, Yun Youyou quickly finished her tasks.

“You should go eat too. Thank you for your hard work today.”

The Giant nodded silently.

Before leaving, he suddenly looked at the two men behind Yun Youyou.

He pointed at Ji Lin and asked, “Is this your husband?”

Then he pointed at Wang Yuanyou. “Is this your brother?”

Finally, after a moment of thought, he said to Yun Youyou, “You should stay with your husband. Your brother is no good.”

(A completely brainless, silly story)

Yun Youyou opened her eyes and found that she had inexplicably become an NPC in a Horror Game.

The stingy Game: No salary, no benefits-as long as...
