Chapter 31
Chapter 31
The cabinet blocking the door collapsed to the floor.
The Landlord gave a wicked grin. “Your time is up!”
At the very moment the Landlord lunged, Yun Youyou finally finished the last stroke on the Property Deed.
A dazzling golden light erupted from the document, the blinding glare forcing everyone in the room to shut their eyes.
Ethereal, granular light began to rise slowly from the Landlord’s body.
He keenly sensed his power draining away, and his expression shifted instantly.
“Impossible! This is impossible!”
Even stranger, the motes of light rising from him all surged into Yun Youyou’s body.
He stared at the fountain pen in Yun Youyou’s hand, the malice in his eyes intensifying.
“You thief! I’ll punish you! I’ll make sure you die a miserable death!”
This person had actually stolen his most precious Property Deed and his pen. It was absolutely unforgivable!
Yun Youyou felt a warm sensation spreading through her entire body. A surge of abundant power flooded her veins, as if she had just eaten Popeye’s spinach.
Watching the Landlord charge toward her, Yun Youyou experimentally extended a fist.
“Watch out!”
Tao Jinran’s heart tightened, and she cried out instinctively.
In the next second, everyone present watched as the Landlord was sent flying by a single punch. He soared a full five meters back, smashing a hole right through the floorboards upon impact.
The crowd: !!!
“Impossible! This is impossible!”
The Landlord lay on the ground, bruised and swollen, seemingly unable to accept the reality before him.
He was so strong; how could he be swatted away so easily?!
This thief hadn’t just stolen his Property Deed-she had stolen the very power he took such pride in!
A dark aura began to billow from the Landlord’s body.
Everyone present felt a chill creeping up their legs.
Yun Youyou, however, remarked with some curiosity, “Are you performing a live ‘darkening’ transformation right now?”
The Landlord nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Looking at the Landlord’s expression, which looked like he had suffered internal injuries from her words alone, Tao Jinran sighed sympathetically. “I think if Youyou keeps talking, he won’t just turn dark-he’ll turn into a full-blown demon.”
Dozens of long, thin tentacles covered in flagella lashed out at Yun Youyou.
Though they looked as thin as shoelaces, they contained enough power to tear a person to shreds.
The moment the onlookers saw these tentacles, they thought of the ghosts the Landlord had ripped apart. If those tentacles wrapped around Yun Youyou, she would likely be doomed.
As the tentacles drew closer, one could see the tiny, dense eyes covering them, along with patches of scabbed blood.
It was a bit disgusting.
Fortunately, Yun Youyou was still wearing her white gloves.
With a casual swipe of her hand, she firmly snatched the dozens of tentacles in her grip.
The tentacles didn’t give up, coiling around Yun Youyou’s wrist in an attempt to snap her hand off.
To the Landlord’s surprise, Yun Youyou simply gripped the tentacles and started swinging him around.
At first, the Landlord didn’t take it seriously.
But Yun Youyou spun faster and faster until even he was lifted off the ground, whirling through the air.
The long tentacles acted like kite strings, and the Landlord was like a pathetic kite tied to the end, howling in terror as he circled the room.
When Yun Youyou grew tired of spinning, she let go.
Like a meteor, the Landlord went flying straight out of the area.
Goodbye, Game! I’m sailing away tonight!
Tao Jinran stood with her mouth agape, shielding her eyes with her hand as she stared into the distance. She looked for a long time but couldn’t see any sign of the poor Landlord.
“Where did he get thrown to?”
“Maybe he’s already gone to another Instance.”
In Shamate’s mind, Yun Youyou’s danger level rose higher and higher, finally settling on “Super Tyrant.”
She was the type who, at the slightest disagreement, would use her Super Pitching Technique to hurl you into the horizon.
This woman was truly terrifying!
Yun Youyou clapped her hands together, completely unfazed.
“It’s fine. Someone as capable as him can find a good job anywhere. I’m just helping him succeed.”
Yun Youyou felt she was practically the best colleague in the universe.
People as helpful as her were a rarity in the underworld, and non-existent in the world of the living.
“I really thought I was a goner today.”
Tao Jinran felt like she had just survived a disaster. She patted her chest, heart still racing, thinking she was going to die right then and there.
Yun Youyou had actually just gotten lucky. Since she couldn’t find any ink, she had resorted to using her own blood.
To her surprise, once the blood touched the paper, it didn’t disappear.
Now, the title deed to this property officially belonged to Yun Youyou.
She couldn’t resist planting a kiss on the deed.
“From now on, I’m a landlady too.”
As long as this Instance existed, Yun Youyou’s villa would remain hers.
Wang Weiye couldn’t help but feel a bit bitter. He muttered under his breath, “Why does she get all the benefits for herself? We clearly put in a lot of effort too.”
Even though his voice was low, everyone heard him loud and clear.
Tao Jinran rolled her eyes.
“You think we could have cleared this without Youyou? You’ve got a lot of nerve talking like that. Why didn’t you go look for the deed when she asked? You’re useless, yet here you are, yapping away.”
“Besides, this house is inside an Instance. Do you really plan on coming back here for a stroll? Do you have a death wish or something?”
Every one of Tao Jinran’s words stabbed Wang Weiye right where it hurt.
His face turned beet red. He secretly resented Tao Jinran for being so blunt and calling him out so shamelessly.
No one cared what Wang Weiye was thinking, though.
Shen Qingyu looked anxious.
“We’ve clearly finished the mission, so why hasn’t the Game sent us out yet?”
Tao Jinran suddenly realized she was right.
“Oh, yeah! We’ve already dealt with the big Boss.”
Yun Youyou had no choice but to remind them. “Didn’t the Game also tell you to find the mole lurking among you?”
“The mole?”
Tao Jinran and Shen Qingyu looked up at the same time.
“But the mole hasn’t shown themselves yet. Where could they be hiding?”
Tao Jinran began to ponder.
Shamate couldn’t hold it in anymore and gave a heavy hint: “Maybe that mole has been right beside us all along.”
“Impossible. There is absolutely no mole among us. The only possible mole is him!”
Tao Jinran spoke with absolute certainty, her finger pointing straight at Wang Weiye.
Wang Weiye: “…”
He was truly about to lose his mind. “I’ve said it a hundred times! I am not the mole! I’m human!”
Tao Jinran calmly retracted her finger and looked back at Shamate innocently.
“See? He said it’s not him.”
Shamate: “…”
Seeing Shamate fall silent, Yun Youyou had to pick up where he left off and continue hinting.
“Have you considered that the mole might be someone else?”
Someone else?
Tao Jinran looked over the four of them again, but she still couldn’t see anything suspicious.
Finally, her eyes widened, and she looked at Yun Youyou in shock.
“Could it be that the mole is…”
Seeing that Tao Jinran finally understood, Yun Youyou breathed a sigh of relief and nodded encouragingly.
Unexpectedly, Tao Jinran suddenly turned her hand around and pointed at herself. “Could it be… could it be that *I’m* the mole? Holy crap! Since when? How come I didn’t know?”
Yun Youyou: “…”
