Chapter 3
Chapter 3
After finishing her critique of the Game, Yun Youyou briefly read out the School Rules.
“First, no being late for class. Those who violate this rule will be punished with detention.”
“Second, you are not allowed to leave the dorms at night without permission. You will bear the consequences of any violations yourselves.”
“Third, there will be a weekly test. Those who fail will be punished.”
Yun Youyou scanned the room. The students below had various expressions, but one remained calm and composed.
“Alright, now be good and listen to Teacher Huang’s Chinese class.”
This Game really was a one-to-one recreation of high school life. Just one look at the class schedule made Yun Youyou feel incredibly terrified.
Who even needs ghosts? Just the thought of having to go through high school twice was enough to make anyone piss their pants in fear.
Yun Youyou walked gracefully down from the podium and happened to run into Teacher Huang, who was arriving for class, at the door.
Fearing that Teacher Huang might stick out his tongue to lick her again, she quickly covered her face and ran away.
Leaving behind the students in the classroom, each with their own thoughts.
Yun Youyou returned to the office and reclined comfortably in her chair.
Seeing that they couldn’t eat her yet, the surrounding teachers didn’t even bother to spare her a glance.
After sitting for a while, Yun Youyou felt a bit bored. Since the other teachers couldn’t eat her anyway, she leaned over to the teacher next to her to see what she was doing.
Yun Youyou glanced at the name tag on her chest and asked curiously, “Teacher Lu, what are you doing?”
Teacher Lu looked up, revealing a delicate face, and gave a sinister smile. “I’m sewing human skin.”
Yun Youyou glanced at her hands.
It was indeed a piece of human skin, complete with fine skin texture, looking as if it had just been flayed from a person.
It was a bit disgusting. Yun Youyou frowned, her thoughts unreadable.
Teacher Lu watched her leisurely, her eyes filled with malice. She was already imagining how the person in front of her would scream, perhaps even fainting from fright.
New ghosts were always the easiest to bully.
Yun Youyou pondered for a moment, then suddenly started rummaging through her shirt, looking for something.
Teacher Lu was a bit unhappy not to see the reaction she wanted. “What are you looking for?”
After searching for a while, Yun Youyou finally found it.
The quality of this shirt was truly terrible; after wearing it for only a short while, a hole had appeared under the arm.
She tugged at the hole and gave an embarrassed smile. “Teacher Lu, could I trouble you to help me mend this? This shirt is a bit drafty.”
Teacher Lu: “…”
This was truly bullying a ghost too far!
Her eyes turned red with rage, radiating a thick aura of hostility, as if she wanted to tear Yun Youyou apart and devour her.
Yun Youyou wasn’t afraid at all. Instead, she said earnestly, “The Game said that we employees should help each other. Teacher Lu, you’re so kind and gentle; surely you wouldn’t refuse such a small favor?”
Teacher Lu glared at Yun Youyou for a while before resentfully grabbing Yun Youyou’s shirt. She pulled the needle out of the human skin and began mending the clothes, gritting her teeth the whole time.
Before long, the hole was patched up.
Yun Youyou looked at her shirt in surprise.
This ghost’s sewing was truly excellent; not even a single loose thread could be seen.
“Teacher Lu, you’re so skillful! Not only does it look good, but it’s also very sturdy. I’ve never seen such dexterous hands!”
Yun Youyou exaggeratedly grabbed Teacher Lu’s hand. “How can there be such nimble hands in this world!”
Teacher Lu had originally kept a cold face, but after being praised by Yun Youyou for so long, she could no longer maintain her frown, and the corners of her mouth gradually curled upward.
She pulled her hand back with a feigned air of cold indifference, thinking to herself that this new ghost was truly ignorant.
However, she was secretly quite pleased.
“Fine. Is there anything else you need to fix? My craftsmanship is naturally the best in the Ghost Realm.”
Yun Youyou thought for a moment. This Instance was quite eerie, with drafts that made the back of one’s neck go cold.
“I’m still missing a scarf, but I wouldn’t want to impose on Teacher Lu. Never mind, I won’t trouble you.”
Teacher Lu frowned in dissatisfaction. “It’s just a scarf, what’s the big deal? Who do you think you’re looking down on! I’ll knit one for you in a bit!”
With that, she tossed aside the human skin resting on her lap.
She pulled several balls of yarn from a cabinet and began knitting away busily.
Yun Youyou returned to her seat, feeling satisfied and thinking that Teacher Lu was a good ghost.
The bell for the end of class rang.
Teacher Huang returned at a leisurely pace.
Yun Youyou glanced at the class schedule. The next period was her most hated subject: math. She wondered which poor teacher was miserable enough to be teaching it.
She waited for a while, but no teacher stood up.
“Who’s the math teacher?” Yun Youyou leaned over and asked Teacher Lu.
Teacher Lu didn’t even look up from her knitting. “Who else could it be? You, of course.”
Yun Youyou: “But aren’t I the Homeroom Teacher?”
“Who says a Homeroom Teacher can’t be a subject teacher?”
Yun Youyou: “!!!”
She was doomed; she really didn’t know the first thing about math!
Seeing that the bell for the start of class was about to ring, Yun Youyou grabbed a math book from her drawer and sprinted toward the classroom.
Halfway there, she suddenly remembered she was a ghost.
The next second, she rose three feet off the ground and drifted lazily toward the classroom.
The couple in the classroom cowered in fear, terrified that Yun Youyou might swallow them whole.
“Alright, we’re doing math this period.”
Yun Youyou opened the math book and glanced at the table of contents.
Applications of arithmetic sequences, spatial vectors and their operations, logarithmic and exponential functions…
Yun Youyou felt a headache coming on just by looking at it.
She had graduated from college years ago and had long since forgotten all this damned math.
After staring at the book for a long time, Yun Youyou squeezed out a sentence stiffly. “How about this: we’ll play ‘Little Train.’ Whichever student the train stops at will stand up and review a unit for the class.”
Now, it wasn’t just Yun Youyou who looked pained; the three people sitting below her wore matching expressions of agony.
Wang Yuanyou muttered under his breath with a bitter face, “This female ghost might as well just eat us.”
He had long since forgotten everything from high school.
Yun Youyou walked down from the podium and tapped on Wang Yuanyou’s desk. “We’ll start with you.”
The fear of being dominated by a teacher was etched into the very marrow of Wang Yuanyou’s bones. He stood up with a start and rubbed the back of his head in agony.
“Well, as for these logarithms… the important thing is that they have to come in pairs. If there’s only one number, it’s not a logarithm anymore; it’s a single-ton!”
Yun Youyou: “…”
Others: “…”
Yun Youyou felt something was off, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. She could only say with a cold face, “You can’t even do something this simple? I’ve explained this so many times! You clearly weren’t paying attention in class!”
Wang Yuanyou curled his lip. “This is literally the first time you’ve taught us.”
“How dare you talk back! Go stand in the back of the room.”
Yun Youyou tapped on Ji Lin’s desk. “You explain it.”
Ji Lin actually began to explain.
