“I’m going to skin you and make a new dress!”
Just as the Female Ghost reached Yun Youyou, her vision suddenly went black.
A burlap sack was abruptly thrown over her head from behind.
Female Ghost: ???
Wang Weiye and Shen Qingyu flanked her, shoving the Female Ghost directly into the sack.
Yun Youyou deftly cinched the opening shut with a plastic cord.
The Female Ghost struggled for a long time but couldn’t break free.
Only then did she realize she had walked into a trap!
“Let me out! Let me go right now!”
The sack bulged here and there as a human-shaped object thrashed desperately inside.
Yun Youyou gave a smug grin.
“Scream all you want. Even if you scream until your throat is raw, no one is coming to save you.”
Resentful, the Female Ghost extended her long fingernails, scraping them against the sack and making a piercing, screeching sound.
“This is the latest model from the Game’s mall. It’s the premier choice for kidnapping and murder. I suggest you give up on the struggling.”
The Players had pooled all their resources to buy this expensive sack; there was no way the Female Ghost could tear through it so easily.
A moment later, Tao Jinran and Shamate entered from outside.
Neither Yun Youyou nor Shamate were worried about the Female Ghost exposing their identities as ghosts in public.
Unlike the Landlord and the Female Ghost, who were permanent staff of this Instance, the two of them were mobile employees of the Game.
Yun Youyou and Shamate were essentially jacks-of-all-trades; they went wherever there was a vacancy.
“Where should we put her now?”
Shen Qingyu looked at the struggling sack, feeling a momentary flash of sympathy for the Female Ghost.
This was probably the most pathetic ghost she had ever seen.
Yun Youyou rubbed her chin. “Put her on the chair first. I have a few questions for her.”
Shamate hoisted the sack onto a stool.
“What are you doing?! Don’t touch me! Get lost!”
Trapped in the sack and unable to see anything, the Female Ghost was consumed by anxiety and agitation.
“What do you want? Just wait until I get out, I’ll make you pay!”
The Female Ghost’s threats didn’t make Yun Youyou waver in the slightest.
“I’ve heard that ghost meat is quite delicious. The upper body can be stir-fried, and the lower body can be used for soup. I wonder if it really tastes that good?”
Yun Youyou even made a point of swallowing, pretending to be famished.
The Female Ghost’s voice cracked in shock. “You’re going to eat a ghost?!”
She had seen humans eating humans and ghosts eating humans, but she had never seen a human eating a ghost!
Yun Youyou continued to terrorize her. “Since you’re so lively, your meat must be fresh and firm. It’ll be perfect for grilling. I’ll have to pull your nails out first, though, otherwise it’ll ruin the texture.”
The Female Ghost turned pale with fright.
“No, no! You can’t eat me! I don’t taste good at all!”
Yun Youyou kept a straight face, but the people standing around her were nearly gagging.
At the thought of the ‘Female Ghost Soup’ Yun Youyou described, they wanted nothing more than to cover their mouths and retch.
Yun Youyou spoke with a hint of regret, “Actually, we don’t want to eat you either, but we can’t find any other ghosts, so we’ll just have to ask you to make a sacrifice.”
As soon as she finished, Yun Youyou turned to Tao Jinran. “Go start the stove and boil some water. We’ll need to pluck her hair first.”
The Female Ghost shuddered violently.
They were even going to pluck her!
“Wait! Wait!!”
The Female Ghost hurriedly shouted to stop them. “I have another way!”
“Oh? And what way would that be?”
Yun Youyou asked with feigned curiosity.
“Don’t eat me! I can lead you to other ghosts.”
The Female Ghost didn’t dare beat around the bush, fearing she would be boiled in the next second.
To be a ghost reduced to this state was truly pathetic.
The group exchanged glances, knowing smiles spreading across their faces.
It was truly wonderful that ghosts existed in this world!
Yun Youyou didn’t agree immediately. Instead, she said with some hesitation, “But it’s not worth our while if there’s only one ghost over there. It would be a waste of time to go all that way to catch them. We might as well just eat you.”
Shamate hoisted the burlap sack up again.
“Wait!!”
The Female Ghost’s piercing scream nearly deafened everyone.
Yun Youyou rubbed her ears. “Is there anything else you want to say?”
The Female Ghost was truly desperate now, her words tumbling out in a rush.
“There are several ghosts there! You can take them all. I can even help you lure them out, as long as you’re willing to let me go!”
Yun Youyou replied, “That sounds decent, but what if you sneak away?”
Seeing Yun Youyou’s stance soften, the Female Ghost breathed a sigh of relief and pressed on. “Don’t worry, I definitely won’t run! If you’re worried, you can have someone watch me.”
“Fine, then. We’ll reluctantly believe you this once.”
Yun Youyou stepped forward and untied the sack for her.
“We won’t have anyone watch you. After all, you’re a ghost; if you really wanted to leave, no one could stop you. However, if you do run away, we’ll tell every ghost in the area exactly what you said. We’ll let them know how you sold out your own kind for your own skin. I’m sure they won’t let you off easily.”
The Female Ghost: “…”
This woman was terrifying.
If the other ghosts found out about this, how could she continue to exist here? She would be torn apart and eaten alive by them.
“Don’t worry, I absolutely will not run!”
This time, the Female Ghost’s voice was exceptionally firm.
Once she was safely out of the sack, the Female Ghost walked up to Yun Youyou with a fawning expression.
“I’ll lead the way. We’ll round them all up in one go!”
Yun Youyou nodded with satisfaction. “The organization will remember your contribution.”
And so, the two ghosts headed out together in high spirits.

Captain Yun Youyou personally led her troops into battle, with her lackey, the Female Ghost, leading her straight into the dragon’s den.
Those poor ghosts were still completely in the dark, unaware that they had already been sold out.
The Female Ghost led them to the villa’s small attic.
It was covered in cobwebs; Yun Youyou and the others had never visited this hidden corner before.
They didn’t go in directly, instead waiting in an adjacent room to prepare.
Yun Youyou turned to inspect their military supplies. “Are the sacks and ropes ready?”
“All ready!”
Yun Youyou looked at the Female Ghost. “Then go. Remember to call them over one by one. Don’t play any tricks.”
“Don’t you worry, I guarantee the mission will be accomplished!”
The Female Ghost marched out of the room with aggressive determination and floated into the attic.
Heaven knows how she bamboozled her circle of ghost friends, but after a short while, she returned with a Male Ghost in tow.
The Male Ghost rushed into the room with an excited expression, only to be met by a pitch-black burlap sack.
“Holy crap! It’s an ambush!”
No matter how hard he struggled to escape, his fate was exactly the same as the Female Ghost’s had been.
Watching the bulging sack on the floor, the Female Ghost felt like she was looking at her past self.
“Sigh… being a ghost these days is just too hard.”
