Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The bracelet’s interface was divided into three sections: Rankings, Teams, and the Shop.
The Rankings refreshed every day at midnight. The bottom one thousand players would be eliminated by the Game. Such brutal requirements forced everyone to participate in games constantly.
The higher one’s rank, the higher the difficulty of the Instance.
Players were free to form their own teams.
Points and items obtained within an Instance could be used to purchase, exchange, or upgrade things in the Shop.
Everyone was fighting desperately to survive. Though the Game had only begun a few days ago, countless people had already lost their lives.
This couple’s ranking was already in jeopardy. If they didn’t participate in another game soon, they would be eliminated.
Left with no choice, the two had to join a random team to enter this Instance.
They were matched with two other teammates.
One of them looked like a slacker and seemed extremely unreliable.
As for the other, he appeared much more dependable.
The mechanical voice had been calling out for ages without seeing the Homeroom Teacher take her position. When it checked the office, it was nearly fuming with rage.
Yun Youyou had actually fallen asleep!
Asleep!
Slacking off at work, Yun Youyou suddenly felt a chill down her spine.
Drawing from years of experience napping in class, she immediately bolted upright in her seat, pretending to look for something on the floor.
“Where did my pen go?”
The mechanical voice couldn’t be bothered to argue with this lazy bone, saying coldly: [Homeroom Teacher, please take your position immediately.]
“Okay, copy that!”
Yun Youyou stood up quickly, straightened her clothes, and headed toward the classroom.
Where was Classroom 303?
Yun Youyou walked unsteadily in her high heels, searching the corridor for the classroom doorplate.
In the dark, damp corridor, green moss covered the steps, and the air was thick with a musty, basement-like smell that was rather unpleasant.
The “click-clack” of her heels echoed through the empty hallway.
Step by step, the four people inside the classroom could clearly sense someone gradually approaching them from outside.
The girl was on the verge of a breakdown, screaming, “It’s a ghost! The ghost is definitely coming!”
Wang Yuanyou was sitting right next to her, and his ears were nearly deafened by the sound.
He rubbed his ears and grumbled under his breath.
“Even if a ghost did come, it’d probably be scared off by your screaming.”
Despite his words, his body instinctively tensed up. He stared straight at the door, ready to attack.
Monsters usually didn’t attack players on the first day, but one couldn’t let their guard down completely.
Ji Lin looked indifferent, his head turned slightly as if lost in thought.
In the dim light, his features appeared handsome yet sharp. His skin had a translucent, jade-like quality, possessing a gentle warmth that carried a bone-chilling coldness.
“Brother Ji, I wonder what kind of monster is coming this time. That sound is pretty creepy.”
Wang Yuanyou swallowed nervously and looked at the calmest person in the room.
Brother Ji really was the best; he wasn’t even afraid of ghosts.
“I’ll go check.”
Ji Lin walked to the door and suddenly pulled it open.
Outside, Yun Youyou had finally found Classroom 303.
She adjusted her clothes and was just about to push the door open when it swung wide on its own.
So high-tech-an automatic door?
Yun Youyou reflexively took a step back, only to step right onto a patch of slippery moss.
With a loud thud, Yun Youyou fell flat on her face.
Ji Lin: “…”
He looked down at Yun Youyou from above.
This ghost didn’t seem very smart; he could relax for now.
Yun Youyou’s brows furrowed in pain.
She rubbed her backside. “Why did someone suddenly pop out like that?”
This should count as a workplace injury. I’ll have to ask the Game for some compensation later.
Game: “…In your dreams!”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but Ji Lin heard her loud and clear, and the corner of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch.
It was his first time seeing such an unconventional ghost, and he couldn’t help but be momentarily stunned.
By the time he snapped out of it, Yun Youyou had already dusted herself off and climbed up from the ground.
Yun Youyou smiled at Ji Lin, acting as if nothing had happened.
“Hello, student. I am your Homeroom Teacher, Teacher Yun. Please keep what just happened a secret and don’t tell the other students, okay?”
If everyone found out she had just face-planted like that, where would her authority as a Homeroom Teacher go!
Ji Lin didn’t look at her and was the first to turn around and head back into the classroom.
Yun Youyou also made her way to the podium.
She looked down and immediately spotted the boy who had been standing at the door.
There was no other reason than the fact that he was simply too dazzling.
A simple black hoodie accentuated his cold temperament; his skin was very pale, and there was a hint of sharpness in his features.
Sensing her gaze, Ji Lin frowned slightly.
While Yun Youyou was sizing up the Players, the Players were also sizing her up.
Wang Yuanyou was shocked when he saw Yun Youyou.
Since when were the NPCs in this Game so beautiful and glamorous? Her aura and figure completely outshone any human!
Wang Yuanyou leaned toward Ji Lin and whispered, “Do you think if I became a ghost, I’d turn into a super handsome guy too?”
Ji Lin sneered and pointed at a monster that had crawled onto the window at some unknown point.
“You’ll only end up looking like that.”
Wang Yuanyou craned his neck to look.
The monster was covered in tentacles and eyes, with slime occasionally oozing from its mouth. It was a nightmare for anyone with trypophobia.
Wang Yuanyou couldn’t help but gag. “Never mind, I’ll stick to being human. I don’t want to be a ghost anymore.”
“Student, do I look that disgusting to you?”
Standing on the podium, Yun Youyou asked eerily.
“No, it’s just that there’s a mon-”
Wang Yuanyou pointed out the window.
But the monster that had been clinging to the glass was gone.
He knew in his heart that Ji Lin must have secretly dealt with it.
Yun Youyou looked in the direction Wang Yuanyou was pointing, only to see empty glass.
She clutched her chest in pain. “I didn’t expect you to dislike your teacher so much. I’m truly heartbroken.”
“I…”
Wang Yuanyou opened his mouth but didn’t know how to explain.
The beauty on the podium was on the verge of tears, and Wang Yuanyou felt a subconscious twinge of guilt.
Only when he snapped back to reality did he remember that the person on the podium wasn’t human at all, but a man-eating ghost.
Dammit, why the hell am I pitying a ghost!
Seeing Wang Yuanyou’s expression, which looked like he’d just swallowed a fly, Yun Youyou couldn’t help but suppress a smile.
“Alright, since you’ve come to our school, you must abide by our School Rules.”
Yun Youyou reached into her pocket, only to realize she had forgotten the cheat sheet she’d prepared.
Uh…
She could only silently call out to the Game for help in her mind.
The Game ground its teeth and hissed: [Didn’t I tell you to memorize them?!]
Yun Youyou gave a fawning smile. “An accident, it was all an accident.”
[This is the last time. If you mess up again, you can wash yourself clean and wait to be eaten.]
The Game delivered its harsh warning.
Yun Youyou thought to herself, No pay and yet so many demands. What a pain in the ass.

Sorry, Sis is the NPC You Can’t Catch Up With
(A completely brainless, silly story)
Yun Youyou opened her eyes and found that she had inexplicably become an NPC in a Horror Game.
