Tao Jinran swallowed her bread and stared suspiciously at Shamate.

Yun Youyou looked so delicate and weak, like a young lady who had never lifted a finger in her life. How on earth did she manage to scare this Shamate?

“It’s probably just your imagination,” Yun Youyou replied calmly.

Tao Jinran watched for a while but couldn’t find any clues, so she gave up on finding an answer.

At that moment, Wang Weiye came downstairs from the second floor with a gloomy expression.

She smiled with satisfaction and secretly gave Shamate a thumbs up under the table.

Seeing Shamate come out of Yun Youyou’s room first thing in the morning, Wang Weiye assumed they had slept together last night.

How shameless. He didn’t care for such a fickle woman.

Wang Weiye cleared his throat. “You all should have received the Game’s prompt yesterday, right? Our mission this time is to survive and find the mole among the Players. In other words, one of us might be a ghost in disguise.”

His sharp gaze swept over everyone present. “So, we need to monitor each other and find the mole. If you notice anything unusual, report it to me immediately.”

Tao Jinran muttered under her breath, “Just like my self-righteous asshole of a boss.”

Sitting next to her, Yun Youyou had already raised her hand.

Although Wang Weiye didn’t want to deal with her, he couldn’t be too blatant with everyone watching. He said reluctantly, “What do you want to say?”

“I think someone is acting strange. I suspect he’s a ghost in disguise.”

Everyone’s eyes immediately focused on Yun Youyou.

“Me?”

Wang Weiye looked surprised and panicked. “I’m warning you, don’t talk nonsense! What makes you think I’m a ghost in disguise?”

Yun Youyou crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair.

“Your face is all dark and bruised, and your expression is so gloomy it’s practically dripping. It would be weirder if you weren’t a ghost.”

As soon as she said this, everyone’s eyes focused on Wang Weiye’s face.

It did… indeed look a bit dark.

Tao Jinran, who had long been annoyed by his posturing, immediately chimed in. “Exactly! And he wants us to report our every move to him. Maybe he just wants to track us so he can take us out when he gets the chance.”

Shamate, never one to miss out on the chaos, added, “You look so hideous, you really do look like a ghost.”

Wang Weiye was about to explode with rage.

“What are you all talking about?! What right do you have to call me a ghost? I suspect you guys are the ghosts!”

Yun Youyou: “Look at you, getting all defensive.”

Tao Jinran: “Explaining is just a cover-up, and a cover-up means it’s the truth.”

Shamate: “The ghost is getting angry. I’m so scared~”

Wang Weiye was so angry his hair was practically standing on end.

His fingers trembled as he pointed at the three of them for a long time, unable to say a word.

Finally, he turned his gaze to Shen Qingyu, who hadn’t spoken yet.

“You don’t think I’m a ghost like they do, right?”

Shen Qingyu remained expressionless. “Who knows.”

Wang Weiye glared at them fiercely, stood up, and said indignantly, “Don’t you dare come begging me for help later!”

Shen Qingyu also returned to her room.

Suddenly, only three people were left in the living room.

Once everyone else had gone, Tao Jinran leaned in close to Yun Youyou, winking and nudging her.

“I saw it this morning! So that alt-style guy is your little boyfriend!”

Yun Youyou looked disgusted. “He is definitely not my boyfriend.”

Tao Jinran blinked curiously. “Then who is he? Why did he come out of your room?”

“I’m her lackey. We just swapped rooms,” Shamate quickly clarified to squash the rumor.

He had no desire to have such a violent woman as a girlfriend.

“Lackey?”

No matter how she looked at her, Tao Jinran didn’t think Yun Youyou looked like some underworld boss lady.

“You probably mean bodyguard, right?”

Shamate was about to explain when he caught Yun Youyou’s gaze.

“Heh heh… right. I’m her bodyguard.”

The smile on Shamate’s face was incredibly forced, as if there were a gun pressed against his back.

Tao Jinran had eaten some bread, but she was hungry again.

She opened the fridge and saw that the meager supply of food was almost gone.

“The Game isn’t trying to starve us to death here, is it?”

Yun Youyou nodded. “It’s not impossible.”

Given how much the Game exploited NPCs, no amount of wickedness would surprise a ghost.

“Why don’t we go to the supermarket outside and get some things?”

“But can we even leave?”

“Let’s try and see.”

Yun Youyou stood up and walked toward the front door.

The villa’s front door was tightly shut.

Yun Youyou tried pressing the handle down.

The door opened a crack.

Tao Jinran immediately stood up, and Shamate followed.

The world outside was basically no different from the real world, except for the fact that there wasn’t a single person around.

However, the air was very fresh.

Tao Jinran took a deep breath. “I wish I could stay outside forever.”

The three of them looked for a supermarket as they walked.

“There’s a mall here! There must be a supermarket inside!” Tao Jinran shouted excitedly.

The three of them turned into the mall.

Yun Youyou found herself unable to move when she saw the clothes and bags. There were even limited editions that couldn’t be bought in the real world.

Shamate was also dazzled by the latest electronic products.

In the end, Tao Jinran was the only one who actually went to the supermarket.

She didn’t suspect Yun Youyou or Shamate of anything, simply saying thoughtfully, “Then I’ll buy a bit more for you guys.”

“Okay, but we have to get back to the villa before dark. If we’re late, something bad might happen.”

The three of them split up.

An hour later, they met at the mall entrance.

Tao Jinran pushed a shopping cart out, filled to the brim with food and daily necessities.

Shamate was lugging the latest computers and gaming consoles.

“Huh? Where’s Youyou?”

Just as she spoke, a sports car drove up and slowly stopped in front of them.

The tinted window rolled down, revealing Yun Youyou wearing cool sunglasses. “Let’s go. Get in.”

“Whoa! This is so cool!” Tao Jinran exclaimed. “Where did you get this?”

“There was a sports car exhibition in the mall’s first-floor lobby, so I just picked one and drove it over.”

Tao Jinran thought pushing out a shopping cart was the limit, but she hadn’t expected Yun Youyou to just snag a sports car.

It was seriously too freaking cool!
