Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Yun Youyou truly wanted to cry, but she had no tears. “I need some time. Can you give me a few days’ grace?”
She would just treat this money as the ransom for her own life.
Yun Youyou could only comfort herself now by thinking that the more expensive her life was, the more it reflected her value.
“Fine. As long as you’re still in the Game, we’ll meet again sooner or later.”
Yun Youyou’s face fell even further.
She felt like an innocent citizen who had taken out a high-interest loan, forced to compromise in the face of dark forces.
At the thought of the massive debt on her shoulders, Yun Youyou felt incredibly heavy, so much so that she couldn’t even float properly anymore.
Ji Lin sat on the bed, watching Yun Youyou float away with a heavy heart.
Despite being a ghost, she was more miserable than a corporate slave.
Wang Yuanyou, who was in the other bed, had actually been awake for a long time.
In the Game, he didn’t dare sleep soundly to begin with; he would wake up immediately at the slightest movement.
Originally, he had intended to stay hidden in the darkness, alert in case the ghost suddenly attacked.
He hadn’t expected the conversation between the ghost and Brother Ji to get more and more outrageous the more he listened.
What was that about “a loved one is priceless”? And then the female ghost saying, “I really love you!”
Brother Ji had even asked the female ghost to give him a necklace; they even had a token of love now.
For a moment, Wang Yuanyou thought he had slept for several months.
How could the plot become so incomprehensible after just one nap?
What was the situation now?
‘The Untold Story of My Homeroom Teacher’? ‘The Years I Loved a Female Ghost’? ‘The Day I Fell in Love with a Woman, but We Were Separated by the Veil of Life and Death’?
Wang Yuanyou had already come up with countless titles in his head.
He pondered to himself for a long while before looking up, his eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions.
“I didn’t expect you to be that kind of person, Brother Ji.”
Ji Lin couldn’t be bothered to explain and simply said indifferently, “Don’t overthink it.”
Little did he know that acting this way would only make people overthink even more.
At the very least, the images in Wang Yuanyou’s mind were already past the point of no return.
Yun Youyou floated back to the office dejectedly.
As soon as she entered, she saw Teacher Lu still sitting there, sewing human skin.
“Teacher Lu, have you been sitting here the whole time?”
Teacher Lu looked up at Yun Youyou for a moment and suddenly laughed.
“No way, no way… You didn’t actually think I’d be standing by, watching over you, did you? I wouldn’t waste my time on something like that.”
“You’re still a bit too naive for a ghost. Little sister, a ghost like you won’t last long.”
Yun Youyou felt even sadder.
If she had known Teacher Lu wasn’t supervising her, she wouldn’t have had to take on that massive debt.
Seeing Yun Youyou looking so devastated and completely deflated, Teacher Lu casually added a comment.
“A little ghost like you should focus on increasing your strength. Look for more opportunities; you might just live a bit longer that way.”
Yun Youyou felt that Teacher Lu was absolutely right!
If she were a powerful, high-level ghost, would she still need to fear Teacher Lu? Would she still need to fear Ji Lin?
Yun Youyou blinked and leaned closer to Teacher Lu. “Then how can I become stronger?”
“How else? By eating ghosts, of course.”
Yun Youyou’s expression instantly became complicated.
Teacher Lu continued, “Actually, every ghost has their own flavor. Like that Teacher Huang who disappeared-he smelled like stinky feet. I wouldn’t eat him even if he were given to me.”
Yun Youyou’s eyes widened. “Ghosts have flavors? Then what do I taste like?”
Teacher Lu put down the human skin in her hands and leaned in to take a sniff.
Soon, she covered her nose and backed away.
“You’re that cilantro scent I hate the most. Go, go, get away from me.”
Having been rejected, a pitiful Yun Youyou took a few steps back.
She raised her arm and sniffed it forcefully, but after sniffing for a long time, she still couldn’t detect any scent of cilantro.
Teacher Lu gave a light scoff. “A weakling like you obviously can’t smell it. I can’t even be bothered to eat you.”
After returning to her seat, Yun Youyou still didn’t give up on her quest to find the scent.
She couldn’t help but take a bite of her own arm, wanting to taste it.
Just then, the Dean walked in and witnessed this bizarre scene.
He had seen people eating people and ghosts eating people, but he had never seen a ghost eating itself.
Just how pitiful must a ghost be to resort to gnawing on itself?
For a moment, the Dean felt a surge of compassion.
Fine, he would just save this weakest ghost to be eaten last.
Today was already the sixth day of the Instance; tomorrow would be the final showdown between the Players and the ghosts.
Two Players were still locked in the solitary confinement room, and the remaining female Player wasn’t much of a threat.
In the eyes of the ghosts, tomorrow would be nothing more than a one-sided massacre, a day for a feast.
The Dean had come over now to have Yun Youyou prepare the sauce for the raw marinated dish.
He had been longing for the raw marinated dish he missed out on last time; he had to eat it this time!
Yun Youyou had no choice but to accept the task.
This time, there was no Unlucky Teacher to take her place.
She didn’t know where that teacher had found so many ingredients last time.
Yun Youyou wandered around the school and finally found the cafeteria in a corner.
Calling it a cafeteria was a stretch; it was just a dilapidated building, and it was hard to say if there was even any food inside.
Yun Youyou drifted in through a crack in the door.
The dining area was filled with broken tables and chairs, the floor was covered in dust, and she would occasionally get caught in spiderwebs.
Even though she had become a ghost, Yun Youyou was still a bit disgusted.
Suddenly, her nose caught a whiff of a fragrance.
It smelled a bit like fried chicken.
Fried chicken!
Yun Youyou’s eyes lit up instantly, and she quickly drifted toward the scent.
As soon as she entered the kitchen, she saw a person with their back to the door, humming a song softly.
The oil pot next to him was boiling, making a bubbling sound.
Liang Fei was coating chicken pieces in breadcrumbs and then putting them into the fryer.
The aroma of fried chicken immediately hit her nose.
Ever since Yun Youyou became a ghost, she hadn’t had a single bite of food.
Unable to resist the temptation, she drifted over quietly.
Liang Fei was still immersed in the joy of cooking and didn’t even look up.
Until he felt a bone-chilling cold behind him, and a burning gaze fixed on him.
Liang Fei whipped his head around, happening to meet Yun Youyou’s eyes.
Yun Youyou hadn’t expected him to turn around suddenly either, and they both leaned back at the same time.
In the next second, Liang Fei collapsed to the ground, trembling.
“Don’t eat me! Please, I have elderly parents and young children! I can work like a horse for you, just please don’t eat me!”
“Get up, I’m not going to eat you.”
But Liang Fei didn’t believe her and continued to beg for mercy on the ground with his eyes closed.
“Please, don’t eat me! I don’t taste good! Don’t eat me!”
Yun Youyou spread her hands helplessly.
This guy was completely stubborn.
But Yun Youyou was only interested in the grease and seasoning.
She really couldn’t resist the temptation of the fried chicken anymore. She grabbed a slotted spoon from the side and scooped the chicken out of the oil.
The golden-brown fried chicken gave off an enticing aroma.
Yun Youyou took the plate to the side and began to eat quietly.
Liang Fei waited with his eyes closed for a long time, but the ghost’s bloody maw never came.
He tremblingly opened one eye.
Huh?
Where did that female ghost go?
