Chapter 3
When I returned to the Jade Pool, the new meeting venue had already been arranged to my specifications.
Every female immortal in Heaven was there too.
Apart from the Seventh Fairy, the others were all quite efficient!
Without further ado, I gave a brief account of her descent and announced the official opening of the First Jade Pool Study Program for Female Immortals!
Our first activity was group training.
We would watch a livestream of the Seventh Fairy’s field research on the mortal front line.
There would also be daily homework. Nothing excessive: a reflection paper of at least three thousand characters would do.
The female immortals were generally very well behaved. Even those who didn’t quite understand refrained from whispering to each other.
In the magical water mirror at the Jade Pool, the Seventh Fairy had been waiting from dawn until dusk when Dong Yong finally arrived.
He came from the direction of the setting sun, carrying a bundle and wearing patched hemp clothes.
Now that she had a mortal body, the Seventh Fairy had long since tired of standing and was resting against the great scholar tree.
Fortunately, her senses were still sharp from her life as an immortal.
Spotting Dong Yong in the distance, she straightened with delight and hurried forward to meet him.
After a busy day, Dong Yong was exhausted. With a bleak future ahead of him as well, he simply trudged along with his head hanging.
When he saw someone in front of him, he barely lifted his eyes.
Then he stepped to one side and walked around her…
…
Ordinary from head to toe, the Seventh Fairy had been completely ignored.
But she was a fairy, after all.
She reacted quickly, taking a step of her own to block his path again.
At last Dong Yong raised his head and properly looked at her.
Her face lit up. She dipped gracefully to him. “My dear Dong Yong…”
Startled, he backed up half a step, looking wary. “Y-you, who are you? How do you know my name?”
This probably wasn’t quite the opening the Seventh Fairy had imagined.
Of course an ordinary-looking person wasn’t going to receive the same treatment as someone of celestial beauty.
Luckily, her eagerness to lift Dong Yong out of poverty was overwhelming, and her commitment unshakable.
She froze for only a moment, then rallied and tried again!
Her mortal body might be ordinary, but she was still a young woman, with an actual heavenly fairy inside.
Unremarkable at first glance, perhaps, but a closer look revealed a poise that certainly worked in her favor.
She had only to gaze tenderly into Dong Yong’s eyes, lower her head with a hint of shyness, and say softly:
“My name is Zhang Qiniang. I admire your devotion to your father and wish to marry you, to grow old together.”
His guard came down at once. Blushing furiously, he didn’t know what to do with himself.
“Well, I, I…”
Penniless Dong Yong had assumed he would spend his whole life as a hired farmhand, perhaps never finding a wife…
He had never imagined anything this wonderful could happen.
He was too astonished to speak.
The Seventh Fairy found this display of “honesty” even more endearing. With a little laugh, she stepped forward and took his hand. “Will you have me, Dong Yong?”

Seven Fairies Take on Poverty
I woke up as the Queen Mother of Heaven.
The moment I arrived, I caught the Seventh Fairy sneaking down to the mortal world.
Naturally, I gave her my blessing.
I even...
