Jiang Li instinctively took a step back.

She could almost hear the frantic pounding of her own heart.

If this Husband was going to use a knife…

Then let him.

After all, any harm would be transferred to Dai Chunli.

With this thought, Jiang Li stopped retreating and calmly closed her eyes.

The livestream viewers held their breath for Jiang Li.

Everyone’s hearts jumped into their throats in an instant.

Yet, the anticipated bloody scene did not happen.

A voice sounded in Jiang Li’s ear.

“Go call your daughter out for dinner.”

Husband, unexpectedly, did not make a move.

He merely cast an indifferent glance at the black screen of the TV, tossed out those words, and turned to the Kitchen.

Jiang Li slowly opened her eyes.

She looked at the pig’s tail behind Husband, suspicion flickering in her gaze.

Could it be that Husband was so badly contaminated that his mind was already unstable?

On the slip of paper in Jiang Li’s hand, the third rule was written in clear black and white:

[You only have a son, not a daughter. If you see a daughter, kill her immediately.]

Since there was no daughter, why would Husband say something like “call your daughter out for dinner”?

However, Jiang Li could not defy Husband.

If she did, it would likely trigger Husband’s rage and activate the Death Ending.

But if she obeyed Husband, it would violate the third rule.

What should she do…

Jiang Li glanced back at the children’s room.

The door was half open, the gap dark as an abyss, as if ready to swallow someone at any moment.

Jiang Li could not see anyone inside, nor could she tell the gender of the child within.

“Why are you just standing there? Go call your daughter for dinner!” Husband came out of the Kitchen, carrying two plates of red meat.

He shot his wife a fierce look, unable to help but urge her.

Jiang Li told herself to calm down.

There must be some detail she hadn’t noticed yet, there must be.

Jiang Li looked again toward the children’s room.

Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.

From the darkness of the door crack, a pair of child’s Eyes appeared, smiling as they stared at her.

“Mommy.” The child’s voice was soft and sweet.

It was a girl’s voice.

If you see a daughter, kill her immediately.

Jiang Li forcibly resisted the urge to go over and strangle it.

She felt that something was wrong, this wasn’t right, this wasn’t how it should be.

Where exactly was the problem…

Jiang Li’s right index finger trembled slightly twice.

By chance, she noticed an inconspicuous prenatal checkup slip under the table leg.

On it was written the fetal gender discovered by the doctor bribed by Husband: female.

Jiang Li glanced at the partially exposed hospitalization form under the prenatal checkup slip, and cold sweat instantly broke out down her back.

So that’s it…

“I told you to call your daughter for dinner!”

Husband yanked open the sliding door of the Kitchen with a crash, holding a knife as he strode quickly toward Jiang Li.

He’s coming!

Jiang Li immediately turned her head and looked toward the children’s room.

“Son, today is your sister’s death anniversary. Go and ‘invite’ your sister out for dinner,” Jiang Li called to the child.

Seeing Jiang Li finally call for the daughter and no longer defy him, Husband slowly put down the knife and stopped approaching.

The child behind the door crack timidly opened the door.

He no longer imitated a girl’s voice, but returned to his original boyish tone: “Okay, Mommy, wait a moment.”

Jiang Li breathed a sigh of relief.

Her guess was indeed correct.

The wife in the Instance did indeed once have a daughter.

But the daughter died in an accident two years ago today.
The hospitalization form below the pregnancy check-up slip was the best evidence.

The date on the hospitalization form was exactly today, two years ago.

Jiang Li scanned the room, her gaze settling on the two funeral wreaths.

No wonder the room was decorated in a mourning style-it was to commemorate their deceased daughter.

A moment later.

The son came bouncing out of the children’s room, holding his sister’s black-and-white memorial photo.

However, the son seemed to have some obsession with “pretending to be a girl.”

He was wearing a white dress identical to the one in his sister’s memorial photo.

On his head were two small white flowers, and his lips were painted with glaring, bloody red lipstick.

The son placed the memorial photo in an empty seat at the dining table, then happily sat down beside it.

The little girl in the photo looked almost exactly like the son.

It felt as if he was dining with his own memorial photo-a scene that was indescribably eerie.

Jiang Li hesitated for a moment, then sat down as well.

Jiang Li’s seat was directly opposite her son.

At this moment, Husband came over and sat between Jiang Li and their son.

He brought over a large bowl of meat soup, steaming hot, with white vapor rising from it.

Floating on the surface of the soup were several strands that looked like hair.

The son, still imitating a delicate girl’s voice, said, “Daddy, what kind of soup is this? It smells so good.”

Husband smiled proudly, “Seaweed soup-your sister’s favorite. I added meatballs.”

As he spoke, Husband scooped up a few meatballs from the bottom of the bowl with a ladle.

But those weren’t meatballs-they were clearly…

Jiang Li turned her face away, forcing herself not to gag.

Even though Jiang Li avoided looking at the food, the sourness in her stomach still surged uncontrollably.

She couldn’t help but burp, letting out stomach gas.

She quickly covered her mouth, forcing herself to suppress this uncontrollable physiological reaction.

Husband glanced at Jiang Li, said nothing, and simply placed a glass of water in front of her.

Jiang Li: “Thank you.”

Husband ignored her and stood up to serve soup to the daughter and son.

“Drink up,” Husband said, handing the bowl of soup to the son.

The son swung his legs excitedly, picked up a small spoon, scooped up a meatball, and was about to put it in his mouth.

Just as he was about to eat it, he seemed to remember something and put the meatball back into the bowl.

“Mommy, you eat,” the son straightened up and held the meatball to Jiang Li’s mouth.

A flash of Family Rules No. 6 crossed Jiang Li’s mind.

[No meat is allowed at home. If hungry, you may eat Finger Biscuits from the fridge.]

She couldn’t eat meat.

But she also couldn’t refuse her son.

Family Rules No. 7 was very clear:

[Do not refuse your son’s requests, or he will be upset.]

Jiang Li couldn’t refuse her son, but she couldn’t eat the meatball either.

These damned rules were digging traps everywhere, trying to kill her.

What should she do… Eat it and then induce vomiting?

Clearly, that wasn’t the optimal solution.

If she tried to vomit, she might trigger some hidden rule and die unexpectedly.

Jiang Li’s mind raced, her index finger twitching unconsciously.

Three seconds later.

She forced a gentle smile onto her face, patted her son’s head, and said with a rising tone:

“Thank you, son. Mommy accepts your kindness.”

After speaking, Jiang Li took the meatball with the spoon and turned to Husband:

“Honey, my gastritis is acting up again-I can’t eat any meat. Since our son is so filial, why don’t you enjoy it first, okay?”
