Chapter 11
Dai Chunli had her head covered and was brought to the front of a laboratory.
“Team Leader, the person has been brought.”
A man in black dragged Dai Chunli out and firmly tied her limbs to the operating table.
Inside the laboratory were also the Intelligence Department Minister, the team leaders of each group, two doctors, and three nurses.
“There’s not much time. Hurry, get started.”
Several staff members stepped forward.
One injected Dai Chunli with a sedative.
Another removed the black cloth hood from Dai Chunli’s head.
“Minister, the anesthetic hasn’t arrived yet, and we’re running out of time,” one member said anxiously.
“How long until it gets here?” asked the Intelligence Department Minister.
“At least fifteen minutes at the earliest.”
“That won’t do. The time Jiang Li gave us is limited.”
The Intelligence Department Minister paced back and forth in front of Dai Chunli’s bed, looking anxious.
“How about we skip the anesthesia and just do it directly!” someone suggested boldly.
“Will she die from wound infection?”
“It’s possible, but there’s no other way now.”
“No, Dai Chunli won’t die.” A tall man pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose.
He continued, “The Rule-Based Strange Tale stated from the beginning: as long as the Chosen One clears the first Instance, the family members bound to the Chosen One, regardless of their condition, will survive.”
In the laboratory, the experts exchanged glances, each understanding what the wisest course of action was.
What they had been worried about was becoming murderers themselves.
But now, as long as the Chosen One cleared the Instance, Dai Chunli could be revived, so their concerns were naturally dispelled.
All they needed to do now was act decisively and leave the rest to Jiang Li.
The experts all looked at the bound Dai Chunli.
Dai Chunli’s heart skipped a beat, her eyes wide with terror.
Although she had been injected with a sedative,
the drug would take another two minutes to take effect.
So Dai Chunli kept struggling, desperately trying to break free.
She cursed, “No!! You’ll all get your retribution! Let me go!”
“I curse you all to hell, may your sons be born without an anus! You rotten-hearted bastards, let me go!!”
A young member of the expert team had just given birth to a son; that wise woman was also a team leader in the Huaguo Intelligence Department.
The Mom Group Member, her blood boiling, couldn’t hold back her temper, rolled up her sleeves, and slapped Dai Chunli hard across the face.
A crisp “smack” echoed through the laboratory.
“Such a filthy mouth, looks like it’s karma,” the Mom Group Member scolded.
“Minister, let’s get started, there’s no time to lose,” she urged.
The Minister nodded in agreement. “Alright, act quickly.”
He turned to the doctor and instructed, “Start now. Clean out her left eye socket completely.”
“Alright, leave it to me. Without anesthesia, she might move. Hold her down, and I’ll handle the knife,” the doctor said calmly.
Five men in black stepped forward. Four held down her flailing limbs, and one stuffed a rag into Dai Chunli’s mouth to keep her from spitting everywhere.
With the doctor’s skilled hands, all the blood scabs and tissue in Dai Chunli’s left eye socket were completely cleared out.
“Did you bring the chicken heart, duck heart, and pig heart?” the Team Leader asked.
“Yes,” a member replied, pulling out a foul-smelling black plastic bag from behind.
“Sew them in.”
“Understood.”
……
Strange Tale World.
“Mommy, are you ready? I’m going to take your heart now.”
Jiang Li glanced at the time.
Of the thirty minutes, she had given the Huaguo Intelligence Department fifteen minutes.
Now, the time was up.
She believed that with Huaguo’s capabilities, dealing with Dai Chunli would be no problem.
Jiang Li stared at the clock. “Ten seconds left, almost there.”
Red Infant began to count down excitedly.
“Ten, nine, eight… three, two, one!”
As soon as he reached the last second, Red Infant couldn’t help but reach out and gouge out Jiang Li’s left eye.
Red Infant had originally doubted how Mommy’s heart could be in her eye.
Now he was completely convinced!
“Thank you, Mommy, you’re the best.” Red Infant ate a few pig and duck hearts, then stuffed a bloody chicken heart into his pocket to save for later.
After a hearty meal,
Jiang Li naturally took away the little stool under Red Infant’s bottom.
Dai Chunli would never have imagined that the Intelligence Department went to such lengths to torment her, all to help Jiang Li retrieve a little stool!
This was simply… too ridiculous!
Jiang Li stepped on the stool and climbed the wall to take down the couple’s memorial portrait.
This portrait had only a frame, with no glass cover.
So Jiang Li could easily touch the image inside.
Jiang Li dismantled the frame and turned the portrait over.
On the back of the portrait, a dagger was hidden, its blade stained with dried blood.
What did this mean? Was this a death message left by the couple? Was the death anniversary of the family of three all because of this dagger?
Jiang Li was baffled.
There was no method, either here or in the rules, to turn this black-and-white memorial portrait into a Wedding Photo.
Jiang Li stared at the portrait, lost in thought.
How exactly could she turn it into a Wedding Photo…
“Mommy, are you playing a coloring game?” Red Infant asked.
