She really was, without a doubt, a complete fool.

The next day, I was startled when I saw Chu Yu come to the temple looking for me.

She actually dared to come back?

This time, she brought me a whole basket of paper money, along with ten flatbreads.

She set them on my altar table with the utmost care.

“I went to pay respects to my parents.”

“Immortal Lady, I don’t really have any wishes. If I have to make one, then I only wish for my parents to rest in peace underground.”

I smelled the fragrance of the flatbreads, and my expression softened a little.

“Didn’t I tell you that after you die, you’ll ascend to Elysium?”

My lie had been exposed.

Watching her leave, I smiled darkly.

I had lied to her.
