[Am I seeing things? The male lead actually stayed up last night planning this date?]

[So yesterday the male lead made his brother impersonate him, and today he’s impersonating his brother. Incredible.]

[What a game. I can’t follow any of them anymore.]

I agreed to follow the plan. Shen Ci reached for my hand in delight, but I frowned and dodged him.

“I don’t like boys who are this forward. You’re so casual. You weren’t like this yesterday.”

He froze, then curled his fingers back and stopped moving.

For the next three hours, I criticized everything he did.

When he bought food, I looked at him with disdain.

“Your taste is awful. Yesterday you chose everything so well.”

When he picked a milk tea, I rolled my eyes.

“I only told you yesterday that I’m on my period, and you’ve already forgotten? How can you be this stupid?”

Watching him flounder soothed me a little, so I kept tearing him down.

“Yesterday, I thought you were incredibly handsome. Looking at you today, though, you don’t seem to have much besides that face.”

He watched me quietly and murmured an apology.

After that, he followed in silence, all the confidence he had carried at the beginning gone.

Every extra minute with him annoyed me. Although the twins had identical faces, Shen Yu’s delighted eyes kept appearing in my mind.

So after I made Shen Ci wait in line for four hours to buy me a cake, I checked my phone and frowned.

“I don’t want it anymore. I’m going home.”

He stared at me, stunned, still holding the cake. Instinctively, he caught the hem of my shirt.

“But… we haven’t really spent any time talking. And today you haven’t…”

His chest rose and fell. His ears were frighteningly red.

His voice dropped almost too low to hear.

“Didn’t you say yesterday that you would kiss me when we met today?”

My eyes widened. The comments exploded too.

[Dear God, man. What are you even doing?]

[Male lead, what exactly do you want?! Wake up! That’s the villainess in front of you!]

[So last night he told his brother not to dream above his station and ordered him to break up because he wanted to take the spot himself?]

[“Take the spot” isn’t quite right. The spot was his to begin with. He let his brother sit in it yesterday, then kicked him back out today.]

Disgust washed over me. I finally let it show on my face.

“Let me be honest.”

He looked up. I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Until today, I liked you quite a lot.”

“Especially when we met for the first time yesterday. I was completely taken with you.”

“I barely wanted to let you leave.”

The color slowly drained from his handsome face, leaving it deathly pale. I continued without mercy.

“But the person you are today… Honestly.”

“You’re such a disappointment.”

“You’re not as handsome as yesterday, and you’re not nearly as sweet. No matter how I look at you, you simply can’t compare with who you were yesterday.”

Shen Ci stood rooted to the spot, as fragile as porcelain that might shatter at a touch.

Pale, helpless, and lost.

I took out my phone and deleted his contact information.

“So we’re done.”

With that, I turned away without sparing him another glance.

The comments erupted.

[Twists at every turn, a plot in total chaos, and nobody doing what they’re supposed to. This story is getting interesting.]

[I’m so angry I’m laughing. Can anyone explain how the plot ended up here?]

[From what I can tell, the villainess is avenging the little mute.]

I pulled out my phone and ignored the chattering comments.

I called Shen Yu.

The instant he answered and I saw those sparkling eyes on my screen, my mood improved.

“What are you doing, baby? Did you miss me?”

Shen Yu held up the book in his hand, then moved it closer in case I could not see.

After that, he lowered his head and wrote on a note.

[Reading. I missed you.]

The day I met my online boyfriend in person, I discovered he was mute.

The boy pressed his lips together, his face pale, nothing like the cheerful person he had been online.
