Chapter 2

When I first met Long Chi, he was still an ignorant young boy.

At the time, my status was exalted. Wherever I went, everyone treated me with awe. His father, Landowner Long, brought me nearby, bowing and scraping with an eager-to-please smile.

“Son, come pay your respects!”

I looked up toward the ridge between the fields and saw a boy with his back to me, accurately pissing into a field mouse hole.

When the little mice inside were washed out by the stream and started squeaking, he flicked the wolf tail of hair at the back of his head and threw his head back in smug laughter.

…Stupid and painfully edgy.

His father forcibly dragged the boy down to his knees. “Son, hurry and greet the Master! She saw that you have extraordinary bones and said she wants to keep you by her side for cultivation!”

Angel meant a messenger from the heavens.

In reality, I, who had descended from the sky, was not a cultivator, but the administrator of this world’s region.

This world’s system was called I Am Long Aotian.

In this place, plucking flowers and leaves to use as weapons, leaping over roofs and walls, and even flying on swords could all be achieved by refining one’s physique. The ultimate goal of cultivation was to break through the mortal body and ascend to a higher realm.

Yet the boy merely hitched up his pants and bared eight snow-white teeth.

“What Cloud Heaven? Bunch of frauds chasing fame…”

His father was horrified. “What nonsense are you spouting? Hurry and apologize to the Angel!”

The boy was kicked to the ground by his father, but he only lazily appraised me with a pair of pitch-black eyes. There was none of the fervor or worship that others showed in that gaze. It was purely the way a man looked at a woman.

That blatantly appraising stare made my skin crawl, and I couldn’t help cursing inwardly, Little bastard.

Who would have thought he seemed to hear it? His upturned eyes instantly sharpened.

“What did you call me?”

Seeing this, his father raised a hand to hit him again.

At the time, I couldn’t be bothered to get angry at an NPC, so I merely lifted a hand with cool indifference. “It’s fine.”

“If he is unwilling, there is no need to force him.”

If the story had ended there, that would have been that.

There were many, many ordinary boys like Long Chi.

However, the people of this world possessed an almost obsessive fanaticism for cultivation. A few days later, the boy was beaten thirty times with a staff by his father, stripped completely naked, and delivered to my door.

As they said, newborn calves were not afraid of tigers.

Even though his backside had been beaten raw, he still bit his pretty lower lip, looking every inch the reckless young punk.

“Pah! I would never take some woman as my master!”

Before entering this world, everyone had said it was only a game, and the people inside were all data-driven AIs.

But no one had told me that an AI could have such a strong personality.

He was simply like a living, breathing boy.

Three days later, with Landowner Long’s help, I once again caught Long Chi, who had lost so badly at the gambling house that he had nearly pawned off his pants.

The boy was sitting cross-legged on the gambling table in that same careless manner, his head tilted, the corner of his mouth slightly raised. His extremely glossy black hair was tied high behind his head, making him look every bit like a pampered wastrel raised in wealth and luxury.

The moment his father saw him, fury surged up. “You wretched spawn! The Master wants to teach you cultivation techniques, and you are fooling around here instead?”

The boy curled his lip. “Dad, do you really believe this female fraud?”

Seeing that I was still dressed as before, covered by a veiled hat and a long robe in an austere, desireless style, he folded his arms and flashed a wicked grin. “A grand Master like you, and yet you hide yourself away?”

“Take it off. Let this young master see your face.”

At that, I smiled without warmth. “Fine. You cultivate first. As long as you can reach Foundation Establishment, I’ll do whatever you say.”

He bared his teeth at me.

“It’s a deal!”

Seeing that he had finally bowed his head, I laid out the system-printed textbooks in front of him one by one: Foundation Establishment Meditation, Ten Methods of Corpse Dissolution, Heavenly Demon Art, Withering and Flourishing Art…

Long Chi casually picked one up. “Foundation Establishment Meditation?”

“Mm. If there is anything you don’t understand, ask me at any time.”

In truth, I didn’t understand it either.

Because the world’s system was different, the characters here did not cultivate through my instruction. It mainly depended on their own comprehension.

Hearing this, Long Chi slanted his eyes at me, possessing a beauty that was rather wild and untamable.

“What’s so hard about that? This young master will broaden your horizons.”

With that, he formed hand seals and sat cross-legged.

Before long, he closed his eyes and called out, “Master, look, my dantian is faintly glowing and my sea of qi is heating up. Does that mean I’ve succeeded at Foundation Establishment?”

What? It hadn’t even been five minutes, and he had already done it?

Startled, I bent down to examine his condition. Who knew that he would smile slyly, flick his hand upward, and take the opportunity to knock the veiled hat right off my head!

For a moment, our eyes met.

Only then did I realize I had fallen for his trick, and my heart filled with both anger and humiliation.

“Have you looked your fill?”

He appraised me with bright eyes, then suddenly turned his face away, his tone haughty and tsundere.

“Hmph. Average looks.”

Before the words had even faded, a line of blood trickled from his nose.
