Chapter 2
Chapter 2
After the wedding rites were complete, Xiao Yunheng was taken away to wash up.
As a matron helped me remove my makeup, she spoke as if casually.
“His Highness is simple-minded now. If the Princess Consort is willing to treat him with sincerity, I am sure good will come of it.”
I heard the implication beneath her words. “Please, Matron, speak plainly.”
She took out a thick illustrated booklet and handed it to me.
“His Highness likes the Princess Consort. He is willing to be close to you.”
“It is only that he is injured now, so when it comes to matters between husband and wife… the Princess Consort will need to take more initiative.”
“Her Majesty the Empress Dowager is still hoping that you will soon bear branches and leaves for the imperial family.”
Before I entered the prince’s manor, a teaching matron had come to Yun Manor to instruct me on how to serve my husband.
Back then, I already knew.
Xiao Yunheng and I were meant to be husband and wife in truth.
I simply had not expected the Empress Dowager’s warning to come so quickly.
Blushing, I accepted the booklet. “Yun Yi will respectfully obey the Empress Dowager’s teachings.”
After I finished washing up, I sat on the bed and opened the booklet between my fingers.
I had only turned two pages before my face burned so fiercely that I snapped it shut.
The teaching matron had only taught me how to attend to my husband. She had never told me there could be so many ways to do such a thing…
“What are you looking at, wife?”
A clear voice suddenly sounded behind me.
Xiao Yunheng, who had been taken away to wash, had returned at some point and was leaning in very close.
I abruptly shoved the booklet under the pillow and raised my lips at him as if nothing had happened. “Your Highness.”
Xiao Yunheng smiled and gave a soft “Mm.” Then, blinking his bright eyes, he called again, “Wife.”
A moment ago he had been calling me sister with every breath. One bath later, and he knew to change how he addressed me.
Had someone warned him too?
Curious, I asked, “Who taught Your Highness to call me wife?”
Xiao Yunheng tilted his head, his tone a little proud.
“Ah Jiu!”
Xiao Yunheng’s personal guard, the one who had grown up by his side.
“Ah Jiu said that after we bowed to Heaven and Earth, sister isn’t fairy sister anymore. She’s Ah Heng’s wife, Ah Heng’s closest person.”
Xiao Yunheng had just bathed and changed into his sleeping robes, leaving his strong chest faintly visible.
As he spoke, he braced both hands on the bed and leaned toward me.
He had only moved a little closer, yet I felt an overwhelming pressure from him.
Aside from the day I saved him, I had never been this close to a grown man.
Instinctively, I shifted back, but the matron’s instructions suddenly rang through my mind.
Take the initiative.
Take the initiative…
So I drew in a deep breath, moved toward Xiao Yunheng of my own accord, and, with trembling fingers, placed my hand on his chest.
“Then did Ah Jiu tell Your Highness what you are supposed to do with your wife on your wedding night?”
Xiao Yunheng thought about it seriously for a while, then shook his head, his gaze impossibly pure.
Seeing him so innocent and bewildered, I somehow found him rather adorable.
Summoning my courage, I leaned in and kissed him.
“This.”
“Does Your Highness like it?”
“Is my wife saving Ah Heng? Like that day when Ah Heng fell into the water?” He licked his lips and asked in confusion, “But Ah Heng is perfectly fine right now.”
That day, Xiao Yunheng had choked on water, and I had breathed air into him.
Was this prince truly foolish now?
How did he remember everything?
For a moment, I had no idea how to explain the difference between a kiss and rescue breathing, so I could only continue demonstrating with action.
I kissed him again, extended the tip of my tongue, and lightly licked him.
“You cannot do this when saving someone. Only with your wife. Has Your Highness learned?”
Xiao Yunheng did not speak.
He only pressed his cool lips quietly to mine.
Imitating what I had just done, he gently caught my lips between his.
Not only had he learned, he had surpassed his teacher.
One moment, his nimble tongue slipped inside; the next, he was sucking lightly on my lower lip and murmuring, “Wife, is it like this?”
Before long, his kisses had left my whole body burning.
Just as I gathered my courage and prepared to push him down,
Xiao Yunheng suddenly shoved me away.
Before I could react, he dove headfirst under the quilt, leaving only a pair of lovely brows and eyes exposed.
“Ah Heng… Ah Heng is going to sleep.”
“Wife should rest early too.”

Three days after I married the Foolish Prince, he started making a fuss about moving out of the bedchamber.
I grabbed him and demanded to know why. Blushing, he stammered, “When Ah...
