Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Qi Mo left in such a hurry that he didn’t even have time to turn off his computer.
He called me, telling me to head home on my own and to shut down his computer for him while I was at it.
Qi Mo is my boyfriend, but he’s also my boss.
His desk is right across from mine, diagonally.
I walked over, intending to just shut it down for him.
But then, a message popped up in a chat window on the desktop.
“Should we go take wedding photos during the Lunar New Year?”
My heart skipped a beat.
However, my expression remained completely impassive.
I was still smiling and saying goodbye to my colleagues; they didn’t notice anything unusual.
Without hesitation, I sat down at Qi Mo’s desk.
The person on the other end of the chat was a girl with the contact name “Qingqing.”
Qingqing!
My mind raced.
I quickly locked onto a target.
Xia Qing, Qi Mo’s ex-girlfriend. I had heard one of his friends mention her once.
It was during a group dinner when one of them suddenly said, “Old Qi, I saw Qingqing yesterday.”
That sentence caused the atmosphere at the table to stiffen instantly. Everyone fell silent.
Finally, Lu Cheng spoke up. He said, “Are you kidding me? Why even bring her up?”
The man realized he had said something he shouldn’t have and scratched his head. “Sorry, I’ve had too much to drink.”
His apology was directed at Qi Mo.
Throughout it all, Qi Mo remained expressionless. He kept his eyes lowered, his long, slender fingers unconsciously rubbing the rim of his wine glass.
That kind of atmosphere, that kind of attitude-I admit, it bothered me.
So, I asked him, “Who is Qingqing?”
He said, “Xia Qing, my ex.”
Qi Mo didn’t hide anything. He was so straightforward that my heart eased a little.
I asked, “What happened between you two? Why was everyone acting so strange?”
Qi Mo had been looking down, fiddling with his phone, but upon hearing my question, he pulled me into his arms.
He pinched my cheek and asked with a smile, “Jealous?”
I swatted his hand away. “Don’t change the subject.”
He sighed and held me tighter.
He said, “It’s nothing. The breakup was just… messy.”
I wanted to ask more, but Qi Mo suddenly kissed me, kissing me until I lost the ability to think.
Regarding the ex-girlfriend, my attitude had always been not to care and not to pry.
As long as it didn’t affect our current relationship, it didn’t matter.
Besides, that had been the best time to ask. Once that moment passed, pressing further would have made me look petty.
And so, the name Xia Qing was tucked away in a corner of my memory.
I never expected her to reappear in such a heart-stopping way.

I Do, But Not With You
My boyfriend asked me to help him shut down his computer.
That was when I saw his chat logs.
A girl named Qingqing had messaged him: “So, when are you coming to marry...
