Crown Prince Jin Ye had been kneeling outside the Study Hall for a day and a night.
It was all because Chu Mumu had said she would never share a husband with anyone, that she wanted a love that lasted a lifetime and belonged to one man alone.
When it became clear the Emperor had no intention of yielding, Chu Mumu stormed into the Duke of Jin’s mansion to find me.
“He doesn’t love you. Why are you clinging to him so stubbornly? Could you bear watching your husband think about someone else?”
I gave her a cool look. “And?”
Chu Mumu sneered. “You’re all just products of feudalism and arranged marriages. There isn’t the slightest bit of love between you. Why keep hanging on? After all, I’m Jin Ye’s true love.”
