Chapter 2

Three days later, I opened my chat with Qin Xing for what felt like the millionth time.

He still hadn’t replied.

I wasn’t exactly surprised. From the information I’d gathered over the past few days, Qin Xing was actually pretty clean when it came to relationships with women.

Gu Yushi tagging him had probably just been a casual joke. She knew Qin Xing wouldn’t be interested.

Honestly, it was strange. He was the heir to the Qin Family, and judging from the videos and photos I’d found, he was at least six-foot-two. Thanks to his actress mother, he also had a face that could debut on the spot.

A textbook tall, rich, handsome bachelor like him-and his favorite pastime wasn’t chasing women, collecting cars, or showing off his wealth.

It was fishing.

That’s right. Like some old man, he’d find a spot by the sea or a pond, set up his fishing rod, and fish for an entire day.

Apparently, messaging him online wasn’t going to work. I dug up plenty of information about him, and even went to his company to tail him from downstairs. Qin Xing’s life was very routine: every day, he went back and forth between two fixed points, and every weekend, he set aside one day specifically for fishing.

After figuring out when he got off work, I drove my car and followed him. Once we waited through a red light, I cut in behind his car and rammed straight into it.

With a bang, the car in front stopped.

Then Qin Xing, dressed in a full suit, got out with a frown and knocked on my window.

I smoothed my hair and swept a glance at the rearview mirror from the corner of my eye.

I had specifically hired a five-figure makeup artist for this look. Every single eyelash was guaranteed to be flawless, while the makeup itself still looked barely there.

Sure enough, when I opened the car door, the frown on Qin Xing’s face eased a little.

Gu Yushi must have known Qin Xing liked my type. That was why she had tagged him.

He might not become interested in me just because of a face, but at the very least, he wouldn’t dislike me.

I lifted my head, showing the perfect forty-five-degree angle of my face, and apologized in a flustered voice.

“I’m sorry. I’m a new driver and just learned how to drive. I was too anxious just now and didn’t react in time. Are you okay?”

Qin Xing shook his head, then walked to the back of the car to take a look.

“It’s not too serious. Let’s move the cars first so we don’t block the road. We can just go through insurance in a bit.”

I nodded. The two of us waited by the roadside for the insurance company’s staff to arrive and complete the whole process. Then I very naturally took out my phone, opened my QR code, and held it out to him.

“Let’s add each other on WeChat. If anything comes up, we can contact each other.”

My attitude was so natural that I didn’t give him a chance to refuse. Qin Xing paused, then took out his phone and scanned my code.

“I’m really sorry about today. How about I treat you to dinner another day?” I looked up at him.

“No need. The insurance process is done. If anything comes up, just contact me on WeChat.” Just as I expected, he turned me down, got into his car, and left.

I watched his car merge into traffic, holding my phone as the corners of my lips curved into a faint smile.

I had already achieved today’s goal. I never expected to get close to Qin Xing so quickly. Getting his contact information was already a success.

I liked people who were difficult to challenge.

If he took the bait too quickly, it would lose all its fun.

I found all of Gu Yushi’s social media accounts. She really did seem to like Qin Xing. Almost nine out of every ten posts were about him.

Her obsession with him was written all over them, plain as day.

Over the years, the Gu Family had been showing more and more signs of decline. If the Qin Family hadn’t injected capital to keep them afloat, they probably would have gone bankrupt long ago.

Gu Yushi.

I’d like to see whether she can still live so comfortably once she loses Qin Xing.

If heaven won’t punish her, then I’ll do it myself.

Under the short video I posted, a girl tagged her boyfriend to come watch.

“Everyone move, my husband likes this kind of thing. Let him see it first!”
