Chapter 9
I walked up to the tombstone and reached out to pat it.
The stone was bone-chillingly cold. Tsk, the Death Qi was through the roof. Liu Xiong was lucky to still be alive.
“Who chose this spot?”
“President Xu selected this Feng Shui Treasure Land for my late father back in the day.”
Liu Xiong’s father, Old Liu, was already Hong Kong’s Richest Man back then. While he was alive, he spent a fortune traveling to countless places in search of Feng Shui Masters before finally finding this satisfactory burial site.
President Xu lifted his chin proudly. I gave him a thumbs-up.
“Not bad. It has a mountain at the back for support, an ‘Anshan’ and ‘Mingtang’ in front, and the outer plains are vast enough to hold ten thousand horses, ensuring the prosperity of future generations. A textbook Kirin Treasure Site.”
President Xu glanced at me in surprise.
“Hmph, at least you have some eye for it.”
“It’s a pity this treasure land was already occupied. You’re essentially taking a dump on someone else’s head. The resentment is sky-high; before long, even your old man’s coffin lid won’t be able to stay down.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, Liu Xiong’s expression changed instantly.
The several local Hong Kong Feng Shui Masters looked at each other, dropping their previous expressions of contemptuous amusement.
“Young lady, you do have some skill. However, there’s no need to be so cryptic. It’s true this place belonged to someone else before. Boss Liu paid a hefty sum to have the grave moved, and he didn’t mistreat them. Where would this resentment come from?”
Another person whispered, “It’s no secret that Boss Liu paid Elder Tong to move his father’s grave; it was even in the news. This girl probably looked up the records just to put on an act, right?”
The Elder Tong they spoke of was also a famous Feng Shui Master.
Originally from Hunan Xiangxi, he had fled to Hong Kong with fellow villagers after the war and eventually gained some fame there. However, his school of Feng Shui was the Xuan Kong School, which dealt with stars and constellations. It was obscure and difficult to understand, so it had never been accepted by the mainstream sects in Hong Kong.
Back then, Yuanzhao Cemetery was far out in the wilderness and wasn’t considered a prestigious burial ground. Elder Tong had buried his father there. It wasn’t until President Xu chose the site for Old Liu that the value of Yuanzhao Cemetery skyrocketed.
Elder Tong had accepted the money, moved his father’s coffin, cremated the remains, and sent them back to his hometown in Hunan Xiangxi for burial. He then used that money to emigrate to Singapore and invest in business. He was now a well-known tycoon in Singapore.
I looked at the overwhelming Death Qi radiating from the tombstone and shook my head decisively.
“Impossible. The original corpse must still be in this grave.”
