Chapter 5

Ever since I wrapped myself in this delicate, sickly persona, Xie Lingyu no longer dared to force me to practice swordsmanship.

Forget sword practice-now he would not let me do any chores at all, and he indulged my every whim.

The only thing he still could not quite get past was dual cultivation.

Knowing that pushing too hard could backfire, I did not pressure him too much.

Instead, I magnanimously took a step back and gave him some room to breathe.

“Brother, you don’t have to agree right now. You can try looking for another method.”

But since I had already compromised, Xie Lingyu had to give me a little something in return.

“It’s just that to ease my discomfort for now, I may need you to replenish me with some yang energy.”

The moment he heard I was feeling unwell, Xie Lingyu agreed without even thinking.

Only when night fell, and I dragged him back to my quarters by his sash, did it belatedly occur to him to be nervous.

“Yanyan, when you say replenish your yang energy… how exactly am I supposed to do that?”

Naturally, the final right of interpretation belonged to me.

So I lifted my chin and gestured at him. “Take it off.”

Xie Lingyu’s breath hitched. “…What?”

“You have to take off your clothes and hold me while we sleep. That’s the only way I can receive your yang energy.” I blinked at him innocently. “It’s not dual cultivation. Surely you won’t refuse even this?”

Compared to real, no-holds-barred dual cultivation, sleeping in each other’s arms was indeed much purer.

“It’s not like we never slept together when we were little. Is it because we’ve been apart too long that you’ve become distant with me?”

When he saw the corners of my lips droop in disappointment, Xie Lingyu did not dare say another word of refusal.

He lowered his head, his fingertips trembling faintly as they reached for the frog buttons at his collar. Like he was unwrapping a gift, he slowly peeled away the clothes that had covered him so thoroughly.

After the heavy, stiff outer robe was removed, it was the inner robe’s turn. Xie Lingyu glanced at me, his face flushed scarlet.

Troubled, he called softly, “Yanyan, this one too…?”

I immediately leaned in. “It’s all right. I’ll help.”

With that, I did not wait for Xie Lingyu to regret it. My hands grabbed his inner robe and yanked hard to either side.

The torn fabric fluttered miserably to the floor, revealing the beautiful body beneath.

I could not help taking a step forward and wrapping my arms around Xie Lingyu’s lean, narrow waist, burying my face in his full, firm chest.

“As expected of the Sword Sect Chief. Brother, your figure is amazing,” I praised generously. “Just holding you like this already makes me feel so much better.”

Xie Lingyu’s ears turned red. Instinctively, he wanted to push me away, but after his palms landed on my shoulders, he could not bear to use any force.

In the end, it looked more like he was hugging me back of his own accord.

I laughed softly. “I’m so happy… It feels like we’ve gone back to when we were little.”

At that, Xie Lingyu completely lost the will to push me away.

He rubbed his chin against the top of my head, then lifted me and rocked me a few times as if coaxing a child.

“As long as Yanyan likes it.”

As he spoke, the vibration of his chest made my cheek itch a little, and I could not resist nuzzling against him a few times.

After that little nuzzle, Xie Lingyu’s body grew even hotter.

His yang energy was so abundant it was practically overflowing. As expected of the top of my must-eat list.
