The next day, Fu Qiu was assigned to serve Yunxi.

Just as she entered the courtyard, Madam Jiang called her over to help select servants.

Personal maids should be around Yunxi’s age, sweeping servants should be honest, and those handling food must be attentive and cautious.

Mama Lu was quite experienced in these matters. Fu Qiu, being new, had no reason to overstep her authority, so she stood behind Madam Jiang and watched quietly.

A crisp slap rang out as Fu Qiu struck the woman with both hands, knocking her to the ground.

“You! You!”

The woman covered her face, crying pitifully like a ravished blossom.

Fu Qiu bent down and grabbed the mistress by the collar.

The mistress trembled under her stare.
