Chapter 1

I jerked my hand back in fright.

I was clearly the only person on the narrow bed.

Yet the soft sensation against my fingertips hadn’t been an illusion.

Could it have been… Ji Ye’s doing?

I was on edge all night.

After agonizing over it for ages, I hid out on the balcony and finally called him.

But I accidentally started a video call instead of a voice call.

Ji Ye answered immediately.

His room was dim, so I couldn’t make out his face. All I could hear was his hoarse voice, edged with faint panting.

He sounded irritated, as though I’d interrupted him in the middle of something.

“This had better be important.”

“Where’s my doll?” I asked.

Ji Ye went silent for a long moment before drawling lazily, “I tossed it to my dog as a toy. Why?”

I knew Ji Ye’s dog. Caicai was a snow-white little Bichon Frise with a sweet temperament who always whimpered excitedly whenever she saw me.

If it was Caicai, then giving me a kiss wouldn’t be unusual.

Still, remembering what the comments had said, I couldn’t quite put my mind at ease.

“Don’t do anything bad to my doll.”

Especially don’t throw it into a wok and stir-fry it in boiling oil.

Ji Ye fell strangely silent. Then he sneered. “You’re overthinking it. I wouldn’t do anything even if you were standing right in front of me, much less to a doll.”

Huh? Had his mind gone somewhere dirty?

Feeling awkward, I was just about to end the call when more comments suddenly appeared.

[…Male lead, put your pants on before you say that.]

[Whether that’s mockery or you getting defensive, I can tell for myself.]

[I’m claiming a surprise college boy, do you hear me? I’m claiming a diamond-tier college boy.]

What did that mean?

“Ji Ye,” I called tentatively. “Are you not wearing pants?”

A violent coughing fit erupted from the other end of the call.

Ji Ye had been drinking water and choked so badly that his fair neck flushed pink.

The camera shook along with the phone in his hand.

It was only for a second before he quickly steadied it again.

But I could have sworn…

I’d really seen a flash of his muscular thigh amid the rumpled bedding.

And it was honestly… pretty fair.

My face burned bright red. “Sorry.”

I’d thought he was in the bathroom.

I hadn’t expected him to sleep without pants on too.

Ji Ye abandoned all pretense. “I’ll wear them when I feel like it, and I won’t when I don’t. What, are you coming over to inspect me?”

…Huh?

I pictured the scene, and even my ears began to burn.

I opened my mouth, hesitating before I said, “That… probably wouldn’t be appropriate, would it?”

Ji Ye froze for three full seconds, then ended the video call in a fit of exasperation.

“Song Fu, you’re so annoying!”
