Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I’m as afraid of death as anyone, but there’s no room for saints in the apocalypse. I could understand why they did it.
Fortunately, the people living in 310 next door were also from my class. Barging into their dorm as a socially anxious person at least wouldn’t be as awkward as it could have been.
Of course, we might all be bitten to death by Zombies in ten minutes anyway. Even if it was awkward, it wouldn’t last long.
I grabbed my backpack and stuffed my phone, charging cable, and water bottle inside.
The voice-activated lights in the hallway flickered erratically. People were moving things; people were running.
The door to 310 was open.
Sun Jiayi sat on a bottom bunk by the window, her face a mask of frustration. When she saw me enter, she gave a small nod as a greeting.
Lin Ke and Xu Wan were huddled in a corner, looking like they had lost all hope.
“What are your meme stickers?” I spoke first, breaking the silence.
On Sun Jiayi’s screen was a jar of Lao Gan Ma chili sauce, its bottle a vibrant red.
“Lao Gan Ma,” Sun Jiayi repeated tonelessly.
Lin Ke was silent for two seconds before turning her phone around as well.
Her meme sticker was a line of text: “Use some Drain Cleaner to clear out your brain,” accompanied by an image of a cartoon Plunger holding a bottle of cleaner.
Lin Ke’s voice grew smaller and smaller. “I only saved it because I thought it was funny at the time…”
Then it was Xu Wan’s turn.
She turned her phone screen toward us.
On the screen was a cartoon Trash Can. Its lid flipped open and shut, next to a line of text: “I can hold anything.”
A jar of Lao Gan Ma. An insulting Plunger with Drain Cleaner. A Trash Can that could store things.
They turned to me. “What about yours?”
I held my phone out in front of them. “A photo of my ex-boyfriend from high school.”
The three of them froze for a moment before they couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“Yours is seriously impressive.”
“But damn, your ex is actually pretty handsome.”
Right then, the mechanical voice exploded in everyone’s ears again-
[Ding-Summoning meme sticker manifestations in three seconds.]
[Three.]
[Two.]
[One.]
Blinding white light surged from everyone’s phone screens.
I instinctively raised my hand to shield my eyes. Through the gaps in my fingers, I saw the light condensing into a human shape.
The light dissipated.
A boy wearing a blue and white high school uniform stood in the middle of the dorm.
Seventeen years old.
His uniform was zipped all the way to the top, and his bangs were slightly tousled, looking exactly like the photo.
He was still holding a pen, with a smudge of ink on his knuckle.
His gaze quickly swept across the entire dorm, and his brow furrowed.
“Who are you people?”
My heart fluttered slightly.
Fine, he really was the person I fell for at first sight back then. Even in high school, he was this handsome.
Gasps came from beside me.
Sun Jiayi’s meme sticker had manifested-a jar of Lao Gan Ma was levitating in front of her.
In front of Lin Ke floated a cartoon Plunger, brandishing a bottle of Drain Cleaner.
Meanwhile, a cartoon Trash Can stood before Xu Wan, its lid snapping open and shut with a rhythmic “clack-clack” sound.
Lin Yu’s voice turned cold. “What is this place?”
Looking at the youthful Lin Yu before me, I felt a sudden urge to punch him twice.
Back during freshman military training, it had been love at first sight for me. I chased him for six months before he finally agreed to date me. Even then, he remained indifferent, spending all his time buried in the lab.
I originally thought it was just his personality-until a year ago, when I saw him and the Chemistry Department’s belle looking incredibly intimate in the lab with my own eyes.
I realized I had been cheated on before I even fully had him.
While I was lost in my memories, the other three had already briefed Lin Yu on the system, the Zombies, the four-day limit, and the meme stickers as quickly as possible.
They even told him the whole truth about how he had been summoned from five years in the past.
However, after catching the resentful look I was shooting Lin Yu, they held off on telling him that I was his future girlfriend.
Based on what I knew of Lin Yu, he had a very high level of acceptance for new things and strange events.
Sure enough, after hearing them out, Lin Yu only remained silent for two seconds before accepting the reality.
He looked at the jar of Lao Gan Ma, then at the Plunger, and then at the snapping Trash Can.
He said, “The three of you really do belong in the same dorm with those stickers.”
Sun Jiayi couldn’t hold it in any longer. She suddenly spoke up in a teasing tone, “Hey, one of us is your future girlfriend. Want to guess which one?”
Lin Yu didn’t doubt the truth of her words; he just fell silent for a few seconds.
Then, his gaze swept over the entire room again.
For some reason, I suddenly felt a bit nervous.
The four of us were all dance students-every one of us was beautiful with a great figure.
Who would Lin Yu guess?
Then I watched as he walked straight toward me and stopped.
“It must be you.”
I was stunned. “Why?”
Countless possibilities flashed through my mind.
Was it because I was exactly his type, so he guessed I’d be his future girlfriend? Or was there some sort of spiritual connection because we were destined to be a couple?
But in the next second-
Lin Yu spoke calmly, “Because the other three are all holding something-chili sauce, drain cleaner, or a trash can. But you aren’t.”
He glanced at me.
“Therefore, I must be her meme sticker, which means I must be her ex-boyfriend.”

After Zombies Arrived, My First Meme Sticker Saved My Life
At exactly midnight, there was a sudden knock on the dormitory door.
I thought it was just the dorm warden doing rounds, but then a cold, mechanical voice rang out in my ear- [Ding-The...
