Chapter 1

After I graduated from middle school, my parents refused to let me keep studying.

I worked in a factory for three years, earning 3,000 yuan a month.

Later, the factory went under. I wanted a change of scenery, wanted to see the bustle and glamour of a big city.

So I became a server at a five-star hotel.

Big hotels in big cities really did come with more opportunities.

One month after I started working there, a handsome, wealthy-looking man came to find me and handed me a card.

His peach-blossom eyes were filled with careless indifference. His beautiful thin lips parted slightly as he said, “Be with me, and I’ll give you 100,000 yuan a month as spending money.”

Chapter 2

The man’s name was Fu Zeqian, known as the Crown Prince of the Beijing Circle.

In other words, the kind of person with immense power, status, and influence.

He was the richest person I had ever met.

The money he offered me for one month was more than what I’d managed to save in two or three years.

After thinking it over for a long while, I understood. What he was doing was exactly what the male lead did in a novel I’d been reading recently, After the White Moonlight Returned, the Substitute Walked Away and Amazed the World.

Right now, this man was looking for a substitute for his white moonlight, Lin Chuchu.

And I looked about eighty percent like Lin Chuchu.

But he seemed to think I was a little too rustic.

Chapter 3

So, for the first step, he had his secretary take me for a complete makeover.

Growing up, no one had ever treated me this well.

He gave me so much money and bought me so many clothes, shoes, bags, and pieces of jewelry.

I was so moved that tears welled in my eyes.

But on the first day he took me out, he still wasn’t satisfied.

He frowned. “Put away that cautious, country-bumpkin look of yours.”

I fidgeted uneasily. “I’m sorry, boss. I really haven’t seen much of the world. I’ll change.”

He said with displeasure, “Don’t talk later.”

I quickly hummed in agreement.

Chapter 4

A huge group of people was partying.

It was Lin Chuchu’s farewell party.

She was going abroad to further her studies in design.

But Fu Zeqian didn’t want her to leave. He brought me here to make her angry.

When Lin Chuchu saw me, she froze for a moment. Then, with a hint of helplessness, she said, “Ah Qian, is there any point in doing this? I know the one you love is me. Be good and wait for me. I’ll be back in a year, all right?”

Fu Zeqian was clearly furious. Holding back his anger, he said, “Lin Chuchu, tell me. How many years have I waited for you? When you went abroad in college, you told me to wait four years. I did. Then you came back and worked for two years. I brought up marriage, and you refused. Now you want to go abroad again for further study. And after that? Are you going to follow some designer around and study for another few years?”

He let out a cold snort, wrapped an arm around my waist, and said, “I told you. If you leave, we’re over. There are plenty of women in this world.”

Yes. There really were plenty of women.

In my family, I had seven older sisters and one younger brother.

All seven of my sisters looked very similar to me too.

Of course, that meant they also looked very similar to Lin Chuchu.

Why was Lin Chuchu treated like a pampered heiress, while we sisters had to drop out after middle school, go out to work, earn money, and send it back home?

And if we didn’t send it back, our parents would call us ungrateful wretches.

I sank into my own thoughts.

The friends of the Crown Prince of the Beijing Circle were always laughing at me for being a hick, saying I wasn’t even worthy of being a stand-in for his white moonlight.

They even...
