Chapter 5

That afternoon, the Young Master dragged me out of the house.

He said, “Zhizhi’s brother is back. Mother-in-law asked us to come over for dinner tonight.”

I perked up at once.

Jin Zhizhi’s brother was definitely one of the men wrapped around my little finger too.

I couldn’t escape right now, but maybe I could rely on him to rescue me.

The Young Master was watching me far too closely these days. He was still going down the whole forceful-possession route, but as soon as I got out, he would immediately enter the groveling-to-win-his-wife-back crematorium arc, and I would torture him mercilessly!

When we arrived at the Jin family home, sure enough, Brother Jin’s eyes lit up the moment he saw me, and he pulled me into a hug.

The Young Master’s expression visibly stiffened.

Brother Jin liked me very much.

The Young Master stood nearby, staring at me coldly.

Before long, Brother Jin went upstairs to take a phone call.

I stood outside his door and knocked.

He said to the person on the other end of the line, “We’ll talk at the company tomorrow. My sister is looking for me.”

Then he hung up, patted my head, and asked, “What’s wrong? Why do you look so aggrieved? Did that bastard He Qianzhou bully you? Tell your brother, and I’ll beat him up!”

With an “awoo,” I threw myself into his arms. “Brother Jin, take me away. He Qianzhou keeps locking me up and won’t give me freedom. I’m in so much pain… waaaah…”

“Take me away, and I’m willing to marry you! Really!”

His whole body went rigid.

Not far away, someone let out a cold laugh.

I turned my head and, through my tear-blurred eyes, saw the Young Master standing not far away like a ghost that refused to leave.

Frightened, I hid behind Brother Jin and said in terror, “I want to leave you! I won’t be anyone’s stand-in!”

His face darkened. “One husband still isn’t enough for you? You want to enjoy the blessings of having a whole harem, is that it? Aren’t you afraid you’ll bite off more than you can chew? If your parents found out, they’d beat you to death first.”

I glared at him. “My mom is in the hospital waiting for surgery fees, and you’re still keeping me locked up, refusing to let me see my mother. You beast!”

Jin Zhizhi, Mother Jin, and the others suddenly appeared as well.

Jin Zhizhi said excitedly, “Mom, so little sis is selling herself to save you!”

I bit my lip and looked at Jin Zhizhi’s vicious face. “Keep your man in line. Tell him to stop coming after me!”

Her expression instantly turned as if she were constipated.

I looked pitifully at Brother Jin. “Brother Jin, take me away. I know the one you like is me.”

This farce ended with the Young Master, his face dark as thunder, dragging me into the car and taking me home.

Because Father Jin was whipping Brother Jin with a feather duster and asking if he had ever done anything to me.

No one had the mood to eat dinner anymore.
