Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The days passed one by one.
Xiaoxiao started kindergarten.
Xiaoxiao started elementary school.
Xiaoxiao became the class monitor.
Xiaoxiao… got into a fight.
I was very surprised when I received the call from her teacher.
Xiaoxiao was a well-behaved, obedient child with a very mature personality. Forget fighting with her classmates-she didn’t even want to give those kids a second glance.
In her own words, they were too childish.
I rushed to the school.
The teacher met me at the school gate, looking helpless the moment she saw me.
“The child Xiaoxiao fought with is a transfer student who just arrived today.”
“Why did they fight?” That was the only thing I wanted to know.
Upon hearing this, the teacher gave me a slightly strange look.
“What is it?”
“Little Jiang Zilan said that Xiaoxiao was trying to steal his mommy.”
“What did you say?” I froze in my tracks.
“Xiaoxiao has a photo of the two of you in her pencil case,” the teacher explained. “Jiang Zilan saw it and said… he said Xiaoxiao was shameless and was trying to steal his mommy.”
I stopped talking and followed the teacher in silence.
When we reached the office, the teacher pushed the door open and looked back at me. “By the way, Zilan’s father is already here.”
Standing at the office door, I first glanced at Xiaoxiao, who was sitting in a corner quietly doing her homework. Seeing that she seemed okay, I breathed a sigh of relief.
From the corner of my eye, the little boy who had been throwing a tantrum saw me. His eyes lit up, and he sprinted toward me on his short little legs.
“Mommy!”
I leaned down and caught Jiang Zilan.
I didn’t embrace him; instead, I gently pushed him away.
“Little boy, you have the wrong person.” I smiled slightly, then looked up to meet the gaze of the man in the room. “Hello, sir. I am Song Xiaoxiao’s mother.”
I never thought I would see Jiang Cheng again.
The world is a big place; if you don’t want to meet someone, naturally, you won’t.
Jiang Zilan was wailing loudly, accusing me of not wanting him through his sobs.
Xiaoxiao was gripping her pen so hard her knuckles were white. I knew she was getting annoyed.
Jiang Cheng stared at me without saying a word.
I knew he was waiting for my reaction.
“Xiaoxiao.” I helped her pack her schoolbag. “Can you head home first?”
Xiaoxiao nodded curtly, shouldered her bag, and left without looking back.
As soon as she was gone, Jiang Zilan deftly wiped away his tears and scurried over to cling to my leg.
“Mommy, please don’t be mad anymore, okay? I know I was wrong!”
I leaned down and smiled as I patted his head.
Then, I looked up at Jiang Cheng. “Mr. Jiang, can we talk in private?”

Wrong Love
On the day the divorce was finalized, I booked a high-speed rail ticket back to my hometown. A phone, an ID card, and a bank card with a meager balance were all I had left.
When the butler...
