“Mmh…”

Halfway through my ice cream, I heard a muffled groan.

“What’s wrong?”

Turning around, I realized Shi Jianjin’s face was flushed, and the tips of his ears were so red they looked like they might bleed.

I hurriedly put down my ice cream and homework. Without even wiping my mouth, I rushed to his side to check on him.

“Do you have a fever?”

I reached out, intending to feel the temperature of his forehead.

He instinctively dodged.

My hand froze in mid-air.

It was a bit awkward.

True, the gesture was a bit too intimate.

What was I doing?

Someone as noble and aloof as Shi Jianjin-how could he ever let me touch him?

Why was I being so presumptuous?

He stood up with a dark expression, his voice icy. “The temperature is too high.”

Just as he spoke, I heard the sound of the air conditioner being turned down.

So he was just hot. But… it was already 21 degrees.

I was actually a little cold.

Shi Jianjin hunched over slightly as he returned to the bed.

He was abnormally hot, and now he was doubling over.

He definitely wasn’t feeling well.

He had taken me in and even given me ice cream.

Not just his forehead. His face was hot. His neck was hot, too.

“Class Monitor, you definitely have a fever.”

When I had a fever, my mom would check me like this.

She’d use a triple-check-forehead, cheeks, and neck-to confirm if I was sick.

I repeatedly used the back of my hand to check the temperature of his neck.

Shi Jianjin’s breathing grew heavier and heavier, and his gaze began to turn hazy as he looked at me.

Worried he might pass out from the fever, I grew incredibly anxious. “Class Monitor, let’s get you to a hospital.”

I was about to pull my hand away when he suddenly pinned it in place.

“Oh, right. My hands are cold. Does this feel better?”

Whenever I had a fever, my mom would put cooling patches on my forehead and behind my ears. The icy sensation was very soothing.

It was just that our current posture was a bit suggestive.

But then again, he was the most aloof and upright top student; he wouldn’t have any untoward thoughts.

So, I let him use my hand to cool himself down.

Gradually, his gaze shifted to the corner of my mouth.

His handsome face suddenly loomed large in front of mine, causing my brain to short-circuit for a few seconds.

I watched his Adam’s apple bob rapidly. His warm breath fanned across my face, making my heart pound violently.

“Class Monitor, you…”

My call seemed to snap him back to his senses.

His eyelids flickered. His gaze darted toward my chest before he closed his eyes for a few seconds and then reopened them.

“There’s some cream left on the corner of your mouth. Let me wipe it off for you.”

Huh?

His hand brushed quickly across the corner of my mouth.

A jolt of electricity surged from my head to my toes, leaving my whole body tingling.
