Chapter 9
Seeing that it was Xiao Ling, Cheng Jing and Hua Jin both breathed a sigh of relief.
Because a week had passed, Xiao Ling’s resentment had already faded a lot.
Back then, she wore a blood-stained dress, raised an axe, and dismembered players with a blank expression.
But now, with her long pink hair and clean school uniform, she looked just like an ordinary student.
“Don’t be afraid, right now it’s the killer personality in control,” Hua Jin said calmly. “I know how to deal with her.”
Cheng Jing was taken aback and temporarily lowered his guard.
Hua Jin smiled sweetly:
“I really have to thank Sister Xu Xin for accepting my Talisman.
“Don’t be nervous, it’s a Talisman, but it’s also a listening device.
“Because of the rules, even the Anomaly can’t lie.
“She’s a dual-personality killer. Personality A is the killer, Personality B is just an ordinary little girl. I doubt Personality B could even beat me.”
Hua Jin was quite proud as she walked step by step up to Xiao Ling:
“And to awaken Personality B, you only need to call her real name-
“Xiao Ling.”
As Hua Jin called her real name, Cheng Jing watched as Xiao Ling’s appearance gradually changed.
The darkness in her eyes faded bit by bit, and her expression slowly cleared.
Most importantly, the wildly fluctuating Anomaly Value in the classroom plummeted.
Hua Jin turned around proudly and smiled at Cheng Jing:
“See-”
Before she could finish.
Warm blood instantly splattered onto the snow-white ceiling.
Hua Jin looked down, stunned, at her left arm lying on the floor.
Her left arm, like a severed earthworm, had nerves at the stump still twitching and writhing.
Pain and terror struck her at the same time.
The surging Anomaly Value in the classroom left Hua Jin unable to even scream.
Her ears rang, her vision spun.
Hua Jin knelt blankly on the ground, a foul brown puddle spreading beneath her skirt.
She had wet herself from fear.
“How… how could this happen…
“I clearly called your real name… You said you’d switch personalities when you heard your real name…
“You lied to me? You lied to me!
“Impossible! The rules say you can’t lie! Even if you’re an Anomaly, you can’t lie!”
Hua Jin just couldn’t figure out where things had gone wrong.
Xiao Ling’s face was covered in blood, and she grinned as she dragged the axe and slowly approached.
“I didn’t lie. There really are two personalities. Personality A is the killer.”
She stopped in front of Hua Jin, bone-white moonlight shining behind her.
Her shadow, like a nightmare one can’t wake from, engulfed the terrified Hua Jin.
Xiao Ling smiled and raised the axe high:
“But Personality B is an even more vicious killer.”
