Chapter 24
Bo Suihan looked at him in silence.
After Wang Xiao finished venting and pulled a knife from his chest,
Bo Suihan finally spoke.
“The Wang Family isn’t innocent either. When the incident happened, why didn’t anyone from the Bo Family resist or make a sound? Wang Xiao, aren’t you very clear about that?”
Just one sentence.
The blade Wang Xiao was about to thrust forward stopped.
He looked up, a line of tears sliding down his cheek.
He stared at the person before him in a daze, letting out a disbelieving gasp.
“I haven’t forgotten. The Wang Family was in the pharmaceutical business back then, right?”
Wu Xiaojiu’s eyes went wide. He had always thought Wang Xiao was the innocent victim who got dragged into this.
He didn’t expect that in the world of the wealthy, it was just dogs biting dogs. Maybe one dog bit the other’s backside, while the other happened to bite a major artery.
“What happened with the older generation, I know it’s not your fault. So Wang Xiao, instead of hating me, why not take the chance when he shows up and catch him.”
“How is that possible! Back then, the top police officers in District 26 were mobilized to solve the case, but they didn’t find a single clue about him.”
“You want me to catch him? You want me to solve the case! I’d rather hate you. At least you’re flesh and blood, you can bear my hatred. I can’t hate someone whose name I don’t even know, can I!”
Wang Xiao completely lost control.
Wu Xiaojiu wanted to step forward and say something to calm him down.
But Bo Suihan stopped him, glancing back slightly. His expression remained indifferent, but his brows furrowed just a little.
He looked at Wu Xiaojiu, who pouted.
“It’s not your turn yet. We’ll talk about your matters later.”
Wu Xiaojiu scratched his head. What matters did he have? If anything, it was just that he had believed Wang Xiao’s nonsense earlier.
“Don’t you have any backbone?”
Bo Suihan turned back, now visibly impatient.
He cut off Wang Xiao’s outburst with a word.
Pointing at the door, he said,
“Either stab me to death here, or come with me to the new crime scene. Pick one.”
Wang Xiao was provoked into a daze, and the knife clattered to the floor.
Bo Suihan said nothing more, grabbing one in each hand and dragging them out the door.
The Bo Family’s villa closed once again, but this time it was Bo Suihan himself who shut it.
The car engine started.
The old place grew more and more distant.
Bo Suihan had no time for grief. He knew the best chance for revenge was coming soon.
They arrived at the hospital again.
The three members of the Wu Family had already been transferred to another hospital on the police’s advice.
That same day, they returned to that room once more.
Wu Xiaojiu couldn’t help but recall his sister’s strange behavior. Whether it was related to the case was still unknown.
But when Bo Suihan took down the bird’s nest from the tree,
Wu Xiaojiu suddenly remembered something.
“Didn’t they say the Headless Corpse already had a head? Then why do you say this head belongs to the Headless Corpse?”
Wang Xiao’s eyes were swollen as he looked up at him.
He pointed at the bird’s nest and sneered, “When they did the DNA Matching, I saw the victim’s face in the Big Data. My eyesight isn’t that bad-I can recognize it at a glance.”
That was true.
Although the other half was a bit swollen and already had a faint smell of rot, overall it was still fairly intact.
It was indeed possible to identify the victim’s appearance from certain features and the position of the facial features.
Wu Xiaojiu nodded, then suddenly shook his head.
“But that’s strange. A person only has one head. How could there suddenly be another one? Where did the head that was put on the corpse come from in the first place?”
“The victim’s family was heartbroken. They offered a reward of 500,000 yuan for the head. The next day, people from the Police Station came, carrying a head in a plastic bag. Because the weather was hot and humid, and perhaps the murderer had used some special method.”
“The head was badly decomposed, but no one questioned it. Before the DNA test was done, the family arrived, hugged the head and insisted it was their son’s, so it was handed over to them.”
“Who would’ve thought another one would appear out of nowhere?”
Wang Xiao clapped his hands, looking utterly dejected and frustrated.
But from what he said, it wasn’t hard to tell:
The origin of the first head was unclear.
“Now this will be interesting. The Police Station will probably do a DNA test on the heads. Out of two, one must belong to someone else, and out of nowhere, there’s a new case.”
Wang Xiao slapped his forehead, then, somewhat annoyed, reached to tug at a tree branch.
He was strong.
Even though he was looking defeated at the moment, he still gave a random yank, and the tree shook violently.
Previously, it had been mentioned there was a tree hollow behind the bird’s nest.
With his tugging, the tree swayed back and forth, and a gurgling sound came from inside the tree hollow.
The sound was strange.
Wang Xiao’s body stiffened, his hand still clutching the branch.
Wu Xiaojiu and the other person turned to look at him simultaneously.
They had obviously heard the gurgling sound too.
“I’ll shake it again.”
Wang Xiao, face full of confusion, reached out and shook the branch even harder this time.
This time, things got serious.
The same kind of object tumbled chaotically out of the tree hollow with a gurgling noise.
With a thud, the round object hit the ground, sending up a cloud of bloody mist.
Wang Xiao was closest to the window and got splattered all over his face.
The room instantly erupted with earth-shattering curses.
Wang Xiao burst out the door, Wu Xiaojiu following closely behind.
The two of them rushed into the yard one after the other, and saw the object that had burst on the ground.
They were both stunned.
For a long time, they were too shocked to recover. Upstairs, the window opened a bit more.
Bo Suihan poked his head out.
“What is it?”
“A head!! Another one!”
Wang Xiao scratched his hair, face full of irritation, pacing back and forth.
He made tutting and hissing noises.
This one looked very fresh. Wu Xiaojiu squatted on the ground, examining the remains.
“What is he trying to do! Why kill so many people? What good does it do him to kill so many? The position of the richest family is now held by the Su Family, where does his family even rank now!”
Wang Xiao shouted furiously below.
He didn’t care about the stench on his face, stomping the ground furiously.
“Stop freaking out! Call the police right away and have them run a DNA test overnight!”
Bo Suihan dropped this line and closed the window.
Wang Xiao glared at him fiercely, then turned to Wu Xiaojiu.
“This is your damn husband! What the hell!”
Wu Xiaojiu was yanked back and forth by him.
When Wang Xiao finally stopped losing his mind, Wu Xiaojiu spread his hands helplessly.
“Nothing to be done about it. It’s not like you can just go crazy during public time. Sometimes, instead of shouting nonsense, you might as well gather up the skull on the ground.”
Wang Xiao gritted his teeth, his eyes still swollen, and squatted down in frustration, using the most basic method to protect the crime scene.
He wore gloves he’d smuggled out of the hospital, examining the bones that had crashed to the ground.
The more he checked, the more he felt something was wrong…
